I've started looking into staying at the Hyatt. It would just make life so much easier for me because as I've mentioned previously, I'm making this trip with my 1 and 3 year olds and w/o DH. First, I found a rate of $129.99 at the Hyatt website and rates of $199+ at Travelocity and Expedia. I've read in some old threads that people have been able to get reduced rates by using priceline, etc. I've used Priceline before, and if memory serves me right, you wouldn't be guaranteed the Hyatt, right? Is there an option of hotel inside airport or something that would basically leave the Hyatt as your only option? And why would Travelocity and Expedia rates be more than booking with Hyatt directly?

Also, how are the food prices in the Hyatt? Just some quick casual food for my kiddies. Assume they have room service?

My second question is how early do the buses start departing from the airport to the port? Does anyone know what time the bus picks up at the Hyatt, and do you go directly from Hyatt to port or are their other stops/pick-ups?

We're cruising in just over 3 months and now I'm busting with questions!

There is no other hotel in the airport itself.

As for the food, there is a nice restaurant that overlooks the runway. It is also open for breakfast. It's okay for breakfast.

For other dinning options, and depending when you are arriving at the airport, there is a Chillis and a food court, burger, fish place etc.., where you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just be aware that food court closes early in the evening or least it seem like it when we were walking around around 8:30 PM. Someone else may correct me on the hours.

We took a limo to the port. Cheaper for us for the family than the Disney bus, but the bus do go direct to port.

Hope this helps.

We stayed at the Hyatt last April for our cruise on the Magic.... We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant overlooking the runway... There is also a food court.... My ds (3 years old) loved walking around the airport shops that evening before the cruise... There is a Disney store, Sea World store, Universal studios store and others... There is also a nice fountain near the hotel entrance that he enjoyed watching.... I was surprised that he found the airport so entertaining! It was very convenient to stay at the Hyatt the night before the cruise - place the luggage outside the room on Saturday morning and walk to the lobby to meet the Disney reps.... Very convenient!

as far as food prices go -- there are lots of places to eat in the airport that are reasonable. There is a little place just across from the Hyatt, but I can't remember the name of it, served good food, and was reasonable. We actually ate dinner there the night before, and then breakfast in the morning.

as far as the buses go, when we stayed there we were on the first bus out that left around 10 a.m., and our bus was the first bus in at the port, so we were one of the first folks to arrive at the port.

very easy, and in my opinion worth the extra to stay there for hassle free arrangements with kids.
