We have 3 to 4 adults and 3 kids going to DW in January. It will be me, my husband, our three girls, and we are taking along my husband's crippled 66-year-old uncle (this will be his dream trip) and my mother-in-law. We will be paying for the room(s), and for us to do so, we really need to watch our expenses. I am undecided as to whether we should get two cheap hotel rooms or a 2-bedroom of some sort. We need at least two bathrooms. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!!! :-)

We stayed last month at the Wyndham Palms Resort and Country Club, which is about 5 minutes from WDW. Our condo was only two months old. It was 1,500 square feet with two bedrooms, two baths, full kitchen, 52 inch tv, sofa bed, screened-in balcony and washer and dryer. The master bedroom had a king sized bed with a bath that included a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The second bedroom had two double beds and another bathroom. We booked this thru hotelkingdom.com at $89 per night. It was very, very nice and a real bargain. The complex was quite nice, with pools, golf, mini-golf, etc. I really think this would be preferable to two hotel rooms.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Goodl luck.

Definitely go the condo or pool home route. There are many wonderful rentals available in the area. Since one member of your party is disabled, a pool home may be a better choice. Many of the condo complexes I'm familiar with don't have elevators. For example, we're staying at Windsor Palms in November, but I know that we are on the 3rd floor with no elevator.

We have personally stayed in several houses in the Lindfields subdivision and highly recommend them. Most of the homes are only one story so no stairs to worry about. Some of the larger homes are 2 stories but have at least one bedroom on the ground floor.

A pool home can be rented for less than the cost of 2 hotel rooms, plus you get a kitchen, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, washer and dryer, and more.

For what you would spend on 2 rooms, I would look into renting one of those executive homes that has at least 4 bedrooms. You also have the added benefit of fixing simple meals (breakfast foods and sandwiches) to keep cost down. Don't forget, you will not have to pack a lot of clothes either if you do a load of laundry every 2/3 days of your trip so it does have its own advantages. If your going in the office season, you may find that the homes are in the range of $130 to $150 per night.

You can get a house for under $100 a night (of course, you'll need pool heat in January if you want to use the pool). You can often find 3 BR homes for $550 - $600 a week.

I just wanted to mention that the Wyndham Palms Resort and CC has elevators. Also, I'm sure if you mentioned that you needed a first floor condo they would try to accommodate. However, if you had a room on an upper floor (there are four floors), there are elevators.
