I am getting ready to start planning a vacation with my brother, and we will be getting a room each, but we want them to be adjoining rooms(or at least be very close) we want to make the same Fastpass + selections and dining reservations and possibly share Memory Maker.

Those who have done vacations with more than one room, what do you suggest? Do everything on one account or just invite each other to see each others plans (I've been many times, just not with another family) how does that work? Can I add him to my plans if I make a reservation? How would Fastpasses work? If we have separate reservations, but are on each others plans? I don't know if I am being clear, or if I am looking too much into this? We don't care about having everything under one person, just need to know what's the best option. And Memory Maker, if one of us buys it but want the other to use it, can he scan his Magicband and his pictures will show if he has his account and I have mine, but we invited each other to share plans?

I guess I mainly want to know how the Fastpass+ would work and Memory Maker. Thanks in advance if someone read through this and know how to help! :flower1:

Either way would work.

But, it might just be easier for you to have an account and just put him on it as a family member.

You can either use just one of your MDEs and put both rooms on there, or you can each have your own MDE and" invite each other to plan and share" through the friends and family section of MDE. Youd be able to make ADRs for each other, or just see each other's plans. Same with FPs - You could make them just for self or make them for both of you at once. If one bought memory maker, it would include both of you since you're on each other's friend list.

1. Either way, in your case, will work.
(One of you would invite the other to join, not both of you inviting each other.)

Ok, good to know! So if we do that by one inviting the other, we become part of each others plans, not just being able to see them? I guess that's my concern.

Perfect! That's what I needed to know. I wasn't sure what inviting and sharing actually involved and how much it covered. Thanks for the help!

Have a great trip!

That was what I initially thought. I guess I will have to discuss this with him and just think about what we want now that we know more clear what all of it includes.

Y'all will have a great time! The last time we did an extended family trip we stayed at Port Orleans and I was able to get an adjoining room with my sister and her family. Our parents were downstairs , but in the same building.

In order to get rooms next to each other....When you make your reservation, you want to call and link your reservations as a "Travel With" and also specifically ask for connecting rooms..if that is what you want. Note, in Disney hotel talk, "Adjoining" just means next to - with no connecting door.

Room requests are just requests. with no garruntee but you are more likely than not to be close, if not next door.

You can make dining reservation for your whole party without doing anything special...just make the reservation for the total of your family or extended family. Disney doesn't care who is dining, just how many.

You still want to add him as a friend so he can see the reservations in MDE

After my friend booked her room, I was able to link my reservation to hers using her last name & check in date when I was booking my room.

Now everyone in her party, tickets, & reservation info all show under "my reservation" tabs on MDE.

I was also able to decided whether I was connecting rooms or adjacent rooms immediately.

Not sure if you picked a resort yet but we had success getting connecting rooms at Pop Century. Also, it's a great resort. One of the best on property for the money IMO.

That is what I see when I log into my MDE after our reservations were linked online^

The top reservation is my friends & the one below is mine. If I click into them I can see everyone on her reservation. I have the ability to book fastpasses for everyone on both reservations.

Not to worry anybody, and perhaps Disney has fixed the glitch, but I've heard that sometimes when people's accounts are linked, there are problems like you get phantom people added or family members deleted or your FP+s go away and then come back again. Same with tickets. Has anyone had this happen to them recently?

Just in case, I always have everyone on my account as family members and do everything from my account. I also give (trusted people!) my password so that they can go in an make changes to their own stuff if they want.
