Two rooms, two DDP cards??

Another thread seems to indicate that if you are sharing two rooms (we're in connecting rooms) you will have two DDP cards, and this can cause problems in the restaurants...

It never occurred to me that DDP cards are given by room. We will be in the rooms as 1 adult, 1 child AND 2 adults (even though DS is only 11, LOL!). So, if we split up for dinner (unlikely) or lunch (likely) I will always need to have the "right" kid with me? Oh no.... I thought one of the perks of DDP was no one had to worry about cash or staying together for meals.

Anyone?

I think you will have 2 cards and so far as I know there is no way to combine them.

Wait. I just realized. Your kids will have their own cards. If you split up you need to make sure you have the right cards for each of you (as those are also how you get into the parks, and get fastpasses), so just use the childs card when you order food and it will be fine. each card from a room lists the adult/child count for the room so you adult childs key will say 2 adults and your childs key 1 adult/1 child.

What is the impact of having 2 cards then? We can't split up except in the right order, according to the names on the cards? Any other drawbacks I should anticipate?

We posted at the same time, but for the sake of clarity- you will have four keys to the world, one for each person. Any key can be used for the dining plan (as long as you authorize it that way at check in) so just keep each child with their right key and you will be fine.

You will need to keep track of the credits on each card and you may need to use one from each room anytime you eat together.

Last year Disney could pool 4 guests, even if they were in two different rooms.
