1. We have tickets from Undercover Tourist that I have printed off (full sheet of copy paper) and I have also linked the tickets to the app. Is it possible to obtain a hard plastic ticket from Guest Services if we wanted them? I'm just thinking it might be easier for me to throw those in my purse than fidget with my phone or keep track of full sheets of paper.

2. If we don't or can't obtain hard plastic tickets, how do we use the Fast Pass machines in the park?

Thanks!

When you scan your tickets at the gate to get in, they will give you paper tickets with the barcode that will fit in your purse or wallet, lanyard, etc. You can use those for the FastPass machines.

i don't think you can get hard plastic ones, but I've never tried.

They don't give plastic tickets like WDW, it's just a cardboard card. They do the job though. They will automatically give them to you when you enter the gates for the first time. There is no need to stop at a ticket window. Just bring your printout or digital copy straight to the gate.

You will get a standard cardboard park ticket when you exchange your printed tickets from online. You can buy a cute lanyard on amazon before your trip or once you get in the park, which may be helpful and help you avoid fidgeting in your wallet or bag.
Fastpass machines will have you insert and quickly remove your park ticket, and it will print you a fastpass reminder. When you get to the ride that you have the fastpass for, simply scan your park ticket barcode (not the fastpass reminder), at the entrance. I am an AP and I find that scanning my actual AP is more efficient than scanning my phone. It goes much quicker!

We are in the exact same boat as you and as our trip gets nearer I was also wondering about this! So glad I found your thread.

Thanks for the information - I'm enjoying getting all the advice on the DL boards for our upcoming trip.

Only ways to get plastic that I'm aware of (beside APs):

-Book package through WDTC, or Costco (which uses WDTC). Possibly AAA packages, but I haven't seen an update on AAA in a couple years. Also I assume most travel agents will book through WDTC.
-It's been reported that Safeway has plastic tickets if you buy in-store. Possibly other stores as well?
-Disney Stores used to sell them, but I read they don't sell any tickets anymore.

Thank you all! I'm good whether its plastic or cardboard/paper - I was just hoping to get something smaller than the 8.5x11 full page print out ticket I have now! LOL!

Appreciate all the help :)

That paper will actual be useless once its redeemed anyway- only the app or the little cardstock ticket will work for admission and FastPass :) Technically you don't even need the paper- they can scan your phone- but I'd still bring the printouts as backup.

I like to use the cardstock ticket to scan in when you get to the ride for a FastPass or MaxPass return. The number of people fiddling with phones at the FP scanners is maddening and causes a big log jam at the scanners. Much easier to just quickly scan the cardstock ticket, IMO.
