My niece and nephews really like Marrakesh and get a kick out of the belly dancer (I love the food and if your kids aren't really daring they always have burgers or pasta on the kids menu).
Marrakesh is def one. Maybe LeCellier? Haven't had a chance to dine there yet but rarely hear bad reviews. Plus, that's a nice mix of things. Steak and such one meal and Moroccan food the next.
I'd say San Angel Inn and Coral Reef for the atmosphere. We really liked the food at San Angel Inn, altho people who know authentic Mexican food (not us! LOL!) say it's not that great.
We also enjoyed Norway. DS loves Lord of the Rings and I told him we were going to eat inside Helms Deep, the castle from the movie!
Are your kids picky at all?? If so, you might want to look at the menus here on the DIS. In the past I would have recommended the character meal at Garden Grill, but since the recent rehab, I'm not sure the food would be worth it. We ate at Le Cellier our last trip and my DD (9) loved it. The atmosphere at San Angel is amazing, but we were one of those who do not like the food (we like our Tex Mex). Or you could walk over to Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club as somebody else mentioned. And there's always the Boardwalk restaurants. If your kids are sports fans you could eat at the ESPN restaurant.
We went to France's Le Chef's this past visit with our 6 yr old dd and it was really good. Comfortable atmosphere and excellent food. Was a nice find.
We used to really like San Angel Inn but our last visit or 2 we found the food to be on the "dry" overcooked side. A little disappointing since we were such big fans.
Definitely would push for Tepanyaki if they like that type of food. (no chicken fingers or Mickey pasta there) But, good food and a great show!
Le Cellier I found to be ok. I think it was what I ordered that I didn't care for. The pretzel bread and cheese soup is really good though! DD liked the hot dog.
We've had lunch at Germany's Biergarten, kinda fun and different. You get to listen to a band while you eat. Keep in mind that they do seat different parties at the same tables here and it is served buffet style.
Biergarten in Germany - Great live show, always a good time and the kids always look like they are having fun, it's pretty interactive and great food too.
San Angel Inn in Mexico - Atmosphere beside the volcano and the river from the ride El Rio Del Tiempo is fantastic....dark twilight lighting inside is always great especially as a break from the bright sunny Florida afternoons. We always really enjoy the food here as well, some of the best.
Definitely Marrakesh. I was surprised by how much my kids loved this place. We were there for lunch last week. My 12 yo ds cleaned his plate -- and there was a fair amount of food on it. My 2.5 and 4 yo loved watching the belly dancer and listening the music. Dh and I enjoyed the cool and quiet -- something you don't find often at WDW!
I would NOT go to the Rose & Crown. Our experience there this past fall was AWFUL! Poor seating despite a nearly empty restaurant at lunchtime, slow service, and nasty food (shared fruit/cheese plate, dh had fried fish, I had chicken pie made with frozen vegetables).
When all else fails, we always end up at at Alfredo's. However, we've had both good and bad experiences here. This past week, we had a wonderful server and the food was pretty good. Last fall, both were poor.
I know there is an above post about Rose and Crown, but we were just there and loved it. If you like the menu you might want to give it a try! We ate there during Illuminations one night.
Teppanyaki is my families favorite restuarant in the whole world! We ate there a couple of years ago with my brothers and their families and now it is their favorite too.
