Though I usually rent a car, this time I think I want to take advantage of ME. I don't mind picking up my luggage at the luggage pick up. Can I just take my luggage with me on the bus? I prefer when I check in at the front desk that the luggage would also be there with me.

Can ME bus pick me up at a different resort rather than the resort they dropped me off. Doing a split stay. Thank you so much for any infos you can share! :)

I don't know about the luggage, but a split stay is no problem. We are starting our week at AKL and moving to POFQ, and the ME reservation agent that worked with me had no trouble with it.

Thanks WDW_DV. I need info on my first question. Anyone knows.

You can, of course, take your carry-on luggage with you.

However, if you show up at the Welcome Center with a bunch of suitcases that you've retrieved from the baggage claim, my guess is that they'll be put onto the luggage truck, not onto the motor coach. And all you'll have done is to waste time waiting at the baggage claim and then dragging your luggage across the airport (possibly from the "B" side to the "A"). You would then still need to have the bags delivered to your room after you check in. (Disney pays the bell services gratuities.)

The idea is that your Magical Express motor coach can serve several nearby WDW resorts in quick succession because the driver won't have to waste time with handling luggage at each resort.

Of course you silly! :p I kind of knew that we can take the carry-on bags with us in the bus. Thanks for the infos! I guess I won't see my luggages for awhile. And I heard it took about FIVE hours before it showed up in their room! I guess that's where the draw back is for me. If my room is ready, I really don't want to wait five hours to get to my stuff. I hope things will get better. I don't mind waiting an hour...but if it's five hours, then I think I might have to reconsider ME service.

I don't think anyone wants to wait five hours -- and I don't think Disney wants us to wait five hours.

The official story is that your luggage will be delivered to you after you check in. You don't even have to be in your room, because Disney pays the bell services gratuities. There will be times when the bell services staff is busy, and they won't be able to get it to you right away. And there will be times when your Magical Express motor coach arrives at your resort before the luggage truck.

Yesterday, they had first-day start-up problems. Guests did not have their documentation because the packets hadn't been ready to mail. The system did not yet work as it is supposed to.

In the future, 5-hour delays will be highly unlikely unless the airline misrouted your luggage -- in which case it would not be at the Orlando Airport luggage claim on time either.

They'll let you take your carry-on baggage, but you wouldn't be able to take the rest on to the bus. As others have said, it would slow the process down considerably for others. I suspect you could compare it to the person with 50 items in the 15 or less express lane. Plus, would you be willing to lug your suitcase through a bus and smacking people in the head with them? :flower:

Yes, you certainly can. Disney would just tack two one-way MEs to your stay.

:rotfl2: No... don't want to smack people in their head... I don't think they will like that :p

Yep... I don't think Disney would want the guests to wait five hours for their luggages. And I hope that once we check-in that they will be able get the bags in our room, or like I said. We can wait an hour or two.

Thanks for the infos! We don't go until June 21, so hopefully by that time, all the kinks will be straighten out.
