Two parks in one day?

I'm thinking of splitting a day between two parks but we're not renting a car. Can anyone tell me if there are direct busses between parks and maybe approximate travel times?

Thanks and Aloha! :earsgirl:

If you are staying at a Disney resort then Disney Transportation has direct busses from the parks and resorts. Very easy to get from one place to the other.

If you are not staying at a Disney resort I know that there are city busses that stop at the TTC and you can transfer but it isn't very efficient. We took one to Sea World and it worked out pretty good for us.

You don't have to be staying on property to use the Disney transportation between the Disney theme parks. There are buses outside of all the parks and their destinations are clearly marked on signs. Any cast member would be happy to direct you as well.
The buses come about every 20 minutes although we never had to wait that long for one.
If you're leaving Epcot, AK, or MGM, you walk to the bus area. The travel times between these three parks aren't bad at all (especially between Epcot and MGM).
The Magic Kingdom works a little differently. When leaving the park you have to make your way to the Transportation and Ticket Center via monorail or ferry. Once at the TTC, you can take the monorail to Epcot, or catch a bus to MGM or AK. The Magic Kingdom is the furthest out, so it's around a 15 minute bus ride to the other parks. (someone correct me if I'm wrong :) ) I would allow about an hour's time to get from Magic Kingdom to the other parks.
On our last day of vacation, we wanted to go back and do a couple of favorites from each park - so we park-hopped to all four parks. We even walked from MGM to Epcot (which I wouldn't necessarily recommend :p ) It was a very brisk 20 minute walk along the river. Very peaceful, but my legs weren't too happy with me that day!
Hope this helps.

If you are planning on going to a different park on a bus there is a stop where a bus picks you up to go there, but I dont really keep track of the times. I would say it is probably around the same time as the other busses come every half and hour or so.

I hope you enjoy!:bounce:

I was just concerned that it would take a long time to get from park to park. We'll be going in the beginning of May which I've read is average attendance so hopefully it won't take too long.

Thanks again and Aloha! :earsgirl:

Dory41,
We always use the Disney transportation and never rent a car. We also never stay at one park for the entire day. The WDW bus, boat or monorail is part of the experience - it will not take that long. Relax and enjoy it!

we take one day and visit all 4 parks using disney transportation,
we start out very early and only do the favorite rides, usually we start with the animal kingdom, we drive over there, then come back to the bcv and take a boat ride to mgm, then a bus ride to the mk and then the monorail to the ticket station, jump on the next monorail to epcot, love having dinner at epcot and then walk hoe to the bcv. its a very long day but relaxing as we take the wdw transportation. then the rest of the week swim, golf, eat, water parks, shop and universal studios/adventure. we go twice a year, and since we have been there so much, its great doing all 4 parks in one day, and saves on our 7 day hopper, good for 7 years for us! the key is to plan your park day out, but there is always room for change........ good luck:sunny:
