Two moms get away to act like teenagers...or do they? The End! (Feb 18-21, 2011)

Awww!!! :flower3:

What's amazing is that we had to be the last 2 people on that Boardwalk that night -- we saw NOBODY but the maintenance man, who was in the men's restroom at the time -- and we thought for sure that the women's restroom would be locked -- ...nobody walked in on us...no one saw us emerge...

I kept having this feeling like we were in trouble --!! :lmao: But, really -- Melissa just contributed to the wonderful Disney horticulture by watering the nearby plants...!

My BFF -- no matter how much you go through (or how many pairs of pants), I'm there for you.

It was...our last day. We awoke to the traditional "it's your last day" stuff -- in defiance, I took some last pictures of the room, beginning with the bills.

ry%3D480

We were messy. We both were messy, so it worked out. :lmao:
ry%3D480

ry%3D480

We had SO many things that we wanted to do. Our plan was to take the truck (Melissa's) to HS and ride the big rides...it felt weird to be in an ordinary vehicle again!

ry%3D480

Ahh...back in WDW transportation!

ry%3D480

I wish I could remember everything we did, but I can't... :sad2: I do know that we didn't get to do everything we wanted. It wasn't starting out to be a good day. Hey, but it's a Disney Day, right? :lovestruc

Some little girl was getting the star treatment!

ry%3D480

Then, we saw a sign...it wasn't a sign saying we would get to do what we came to do, but nonetheless, it was a sign that I hadn't paid attention to, before:

ry%3D480

And, I forgot to get a certificate!! :(

ry%3D480

Subsequently, we both went into the place and got very, very...lost. I could have looked at all those pictures for an even longer time, and I know we spent about 30 minutes in there!

I have always had a thing for this guy:
ry%3D480

This little dude -- did he sign it when he was older? That signature doesn't look like a kids':

ry%3D480

I LOVE GENE WILDER!!! :cloud9:
ry%3D480

I'd love to have this:

ry%3D480

A check signed by Thomas Edison? Rocks!!

ry%3D480

I love her:

ry%3D480

*AHEM* ... :rolleyes1

ry%3D480

Finally, we get out of there -- after Melissa's 10 minute talk with the CM -- still don't know what that was about!! :confused3

ry%3D480

Good-bye, HS!! :sad1:

ry%3D480

How did I miss Melissa's update?! This month has been crazy!! :sad1:

That was hilarious and I almost had the same problem reading the post and laughing!! :lmao: How awesome to be on the Boardwalk all alone. I want to stay there so bad!!

I loved the photos of the photos at DHS! :goodvibes

I can't stay consistent with my font! :lmao:

We were off like a shot to the next park -- Epcot! We had some rides we wanted to hit -- but first, lunch!

I think you can guess where we are:

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

This wasn't going to be a "Living with the Land" day. Oh, no -- we wanted Test Track, and any other big ride we could get -- but Test Track was down.

We did some shopping, waiting around for the ride. It wasn't going well as a last day.

ry%3D480

I got myself a pink park shirt, with 2011 on it.

TT finally opened, and when it did, we got in the Single Rider line.

ry%3D480

People were kind of pushy -- I think due to the fact that everyone had been waiting on it.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

We had a great ride -- FINALLY! :)

ry%3D480

It was a beautiful day, despite our lackluster luck.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

I was enamored with Spring.

ry%3D480

Can you see Bambi?

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

I know we didn't get to do much else, and our plan was to head to MK for a final event -- so we went to the Monorail -- and got the Tronorail!

ry%3D480

As it happened, when we got to the Transportation Center, the monorail to MK went down!! We were stuck... We were sad...how could our day get better?

ry%3D480

Glad you didn't have the same problem.;):lmao:

Yay, we are going to the Boardwalk this December!! :cool1::cool1:

I am so ready for it...

We mean you and Robert, because I thought you were staying somewhere different. I am so confused.:confused3

I don't have a font problem, I have a color problem...Vickie has been using my favorite.:lmao:

This last day was so hard to face. Vickie had wanted to pack her balloons to possibly blow them up again, but I didn't think that was possible and the only way I knew how to get them deflated was to punch holes in them. Sorry I goofed that up for ya girl.

I had an idea that we could try to hit all the big rides in one, crowds weren't bad we could do it.

While loading up my truck, I noticed this:

I know it's not the best pic, but have never seen a food truck on property before.

I got some pics of the BLT lobby, here is one of the pics when you enter the door

The entertainers were out at DHS

And I did not realize Vickie had taken so many pics in the store of all the photographs. I had never been there before. And the CM and I were discussing how much we disliked driving on I4.

Seems not many people were heading out to the parking lot at this time

I was very disappointed with my lunch there at Epcot. I had Salmon there a few months earlier that was terrific, can't remember what the fish was on this day, but it wasn't very good. We weren't having much luck.

But at least we were able to ride Test Track

And I tried to get Vickie's pic while on the ride

That was the car she was in, does that count as getting her pic.

And while Vickie was purchasing her shirt, I was admiring how they had redone Mouse Gears.

Of course, I had to take pics of flowers

Vickie forgot about our stop in Club Cool

And our next ride: Tronorail

I'll Vickie post what we got to see while at the TTC that I never even knew existed.

I saw that harvest truck for the first time too, and it was when we were staying at Bay Lake Tower. They must come out of that area on a regular basis, which is why we haven't seen them anywhere else. I think it's so cool that they do that. :goodvibes

Well, you two had a fun night at Jellyrolls! Maybe not perfect, but certainly memorable! Thanks for sharing everything with us! Many of us have been in similar situations, I'm sure (I have)- I blame the kids!

Sorry that your last day had some bumps in the road, but it sounds like you are making the best of it. I haven't seen all those autographed photos at DHS. So cool!

Sorry your lunch at Sunshine Seasons was not better. I love it there. My favorite is the goat cheese and roasted beet salad.

Glad you got to ride Test Track!

I haven't been to the TTC in forever (2004), so I am very intrigued about what you saw...

I guess I haven't been so often that i realize how rare a truck siting is! :rotfl:

Yes, I blame the kids, too -- I'm sure everything would still be in its proper place! :lmao:

Wow...did you just say "goat cheese and roasted beet salad"? I am wondering what that looks like...

We were hoping our luck was changing when we got to TTC...and it was... ;)

I can help with that!

I have about a gajillion photos of the salad! I usually get it twice on each trip, often to go - we bring lunch back to our room at the Beach Club for a touring break.

IMG_0499.jpg

But my favorite was the first time I got it. It was the last day of our Tropical Storm Fayecation, the boys had gone back to the room to dry off and I stayed in EPCOT. I ordered the salad, creme brulee and a bottle of water to go, and had a little picnic near the jumping fountains by the Imagination Pavillon. I enjoyed my meal and watched families having fun with the water.

That roasted beet and goat cheese salad is one of my favorite things, although I haven't had the one at Sunshine Seasons. I had a super one at Wolfgang Puck Express, though. Sadly, don't have a picture, but there is one here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2301104&highlight=roasted+beets+wolfgang&page=8
post #116. Described as: Roasted Beets - Goat Cheese, oranges, candied pecans, fresh greens and balsamic $9. I had it for lunch with the butternut squash soup, fabulous!

Really enjoying your trip report, ladies!

Okay! You know ... I've never tried one, but the whole experience just sounded great, and I'm game for new things! (I have to admit, I eyed the dessert a little more...) :rotfl:

Thank you! I went and looked at your salad, and it's completely different -- love the little mandarin oranges!!

Well, there we were, standing at the fence, waiting for our next monorail, when we hear there will be a LONG wait.

A what? :confused3

The CMs there are, of course, ready for mutiny, for disparaging remarks, and any other thing we can throw at them (just not our water bottles and spray fans) -- but the crowd only turns on itself.

I say that, because you know how you "claim" a piece of fence or an area, and soon, someone seems to try to coincidentally crowd you out of it? I usually try to call someone out -- "I'm sorry, am I in your way?"

Anyway... ;)

Well, the CM tells us, they are going to take a monorail out of service.

"Oh," you ask, "How do they do that?"

Well, you know those tracks they run on?

"Yeah," you say, "those concrete tracks with metal on them...yeah."

"Well...they switch them. And move one over to grab up the monorail and divert it."

"Uh-uhh!" you exclaim. "How do they 'move' concrete tracks??"

Well, they just do --

ry%3D480

I actually have a video of this, somewhere, but can't find it... :(

A curved piece of concrete track MOVED over to take the place of the straight one that came from the Contemporary...the monorail went on it, and then the tracks moved back.

It was pretty kewl...we were pretty happy that we got to see something like that happen!!

ry%3D480

Why does Melissa look so good, and I look like a dork?

Oh...wait a minute...story of my life! :lmao:

Magic Kingdom, here we come!

ry%3D480

That is really cool about the monorail tracks. Glad you had something to distract you during your wait.

Really neat to see the tracks switch! Makes the wait a little more bearable!! Yay for Magic Kingdom!!!

I wish I had gotten a better picture. It was such a cute pic.

Ok, I may have to try one of those salads. Can you tell I am hungry?

That is really cool about the monorail tracks. Glad you had something to distract you during your wait.

I wonder how many times that has occured while I stood there waiting and the CM's just never told us about it?

Really neat to see the tracks switch! Makes the wait a little more bearable!! Yay for Magic Kingdom!!!

It did make the wait bearable.

ry%3D480

Why does Melissa look so good, and I look like a dork?

I normally don't like my photos, but I actually like this one. So I need to have my head just about turned all the way around to get a good pic.:lmao:

I don't think you look like a dork, looks like you are having FUN!!!

Not much to add here, but my pic

You can see the track and where it split to the right of it. It's really a large piece of machinery to move that.

And my MK pic

Hmmm, "Let the Memories Begin", it was our last day, they were sort of ending. :sad1:

Just so you don't feel so bad about the whole "peeing in your pants episode" I will share my story so we can be embarassed together.
When I was 19 (shameful, I know) My now hubby, then boyfriend was moving to Gainesville (FL). I was quite sad about this fact (eventhough I was moving up there 2 weeks later!!) So my best friend and I decided to get wasted, I am not even sure they still make the stuff we started with, it was that Jack daniels punch, in the big glass jug, and it was red. Now we only had about half the jug left and we shared it with a few other friends. Then we went to her house and hung out in her garage, while drinking out of three 6 packs of smirnoff ice. I think I had 8-10!!:scared1: Anyway, I sat the whole time, I never got up to get another one or to go potty or anything, I just sat, drinking, (apparently my bladder was stronger then!!) I felt a slight buzz, but nothing major. So we decided we were going to go to her friends house, I got up, and immediately went down!! I totally fell to the floor, which everyone there found extremely amusing!! I finally got up and started to walk, and was doing alright until my bff said something not even remotely funny(which I can't remember) it just struck me as the most hilarious thing I had ever heard, I fell to the driveway and could not stop laughing!! And then I peed in my pants, which just made the situation even more comical!! I got cleaned up(luckily we wore the same size) and went to her friend's house, where I proceeded to get sick all over the poor girl's bathroom. So not fun! The next day we had a store meeting where we worked at 6 am, my brother took one look at me and asked bff what she had done to me!! Good times!! I told my now hubby what had happened and he just laughed!! Good thing he is so cute!!

OMgosh -- 8 to 10 drinks!!?? I think the last time I did something like that, I ended up where you did! :lmao: I still can't drink anything close to what I was drinking that night -- orange wine coolers...ugh.

I'm sorry that I haven't been back in a while -- I need to finish up this story. In about 3 weeks, my family & I are headed back!!
