Two moms get away to act like teenagers...or do they? The End! (Feb 18-21, 2011)

I love One Mans Dream, so there is no way that the pictures would bore me! Every time I go, I visit the model of Tokyo Disneysea and I just yearn to go there.

I'm sorry I've been away so much -- we've had marathon movie night at our house the whole week, every night...

We watched all of the Harry Potter movies.

We had never seen any of them.

:rolleyes1

I read someone else's thread where they talked about doing this very thing, and then we ended up doing it!

Yes, we enjoyed it, but there was a reason we didn't watch them out of the chute -- it had to do with target audience and the way it was marketed to kids -- we just didn't agree with it. Don't really want to discuss that any more, but we finally decided that the time had come where we could watch them. We really enjoyed them.

Okay...back to the story!! :woohoo:

OK, you don't want to talk about it, but I do!!! I am a major Potterhead (Griffendork?), so much so that we visited the "Darkside" a few weeks ago.

Have you read any of the books or was the movie marathon your first exposure? I have read all the book, read them to my oldest son, my youngest and I are taking turns reading the series to him for the first time (he is almost finished Book 3) and we have been watching the movies in no particular order since our return.

Melissa decided she would go to the Lost & Found Customer Service place to see if they had found her camera.

Somehow I missed the part where Melissa lost her camera! :scared1: I went back a few posts but didn't see when/how that happened.

You guys have had a fun day at HS! We haven't been to see One Man's Dream, so I appreciate seeing your photos! We also have not done Animation Studio yet, it is definitely on my wishlist, but the boys are not interested. :sad2:

Great call on lunch!

I love One Man's Dream! I could spend so much time in there! So obviously I really liked your pictures!! :thumbsup2 I think I like DHS best at night...it has something special at that time of the day!

DAISY!!

I can't believe gatormommy07 got it in the first guess!! :lmao:

I don't have pictures of them, and not sure if Melissa does. I even looked throughout the house, and my stuff from that trip has been moved around... :headache:

Glad you watched and enjoyed them. We love Harry Potter. Hmmm, we may have to go over to the otherside for our next girls trip. ;)

I totally can't believe I guessed right!!! YAY me!! I never guess anything right!!! and now for your enjoyment.... a banana dancing suggestively!!!

:banana: And I had never thought that about this guy.:lmao:

Oh well, I never get things right and that is why I don't gamble!! :rotfl:

That pizza looked delish!! What a great idea to hop on over to the Poly!! :thumbsup2

I wouldn't have gotten it myself.

I love One Man's Dream, and when I learned Vickie hadn't been through there I knew we had to go.

Oops, I said "otherside" a minute ago, guess I should have said we will have to go to the "darkside" next girls trip.

I lost the camera the first 10 minutes of us together. It was so stupid.:sad2:

I am hardly ever there at night, but I love all amusement parks at night.

I would do my own update right now, but have been attempting a tile floor, preparing for movers, and watching men work. Security guy, cable guy, and painter. I'm afraid that if I attempt an update, it wouldn't make much sense...might be more entertaining though.;)

Have a good day everyone!

:banana: And I had never thought that about this guy.:lmao:

I think it is because I must have a dirty mind!! My husband and I are really just children in adult clothes, we are always making things funnier or dirtier than they have to be!!!(because the world really does need more suggestively dancing bananas!! :rolleyes1)
Sorry, I am just a really big nerd!! ;)

Really enjoying your trip report!:thumbsup2

Can't wait to see what naughtiness you two 'teenagers' get up to next!:lmao:

I know I'm a little late to the party but I just finished reading the entire trip report. You two teenagers are doing a great job! :thumbsup2

that pizza looked pretty good.
sorry the camera is still hiding.
i really want to do one man's dream next time. no one ever wants to do it with me though. dh did record a Walt special recently though, so maybe soon he'll be up for it.

I can't believe you have almost completed this TR and I missed it! Just read through all 13 pages and it sounds like you both had the most amazing time.

I am so glad to hear that your treatment is going well Vickie. I often wondered how you were getting on.

Really looking forward to the rest of your report!

Sorry you are having to wait so long for the naughtiness.

OK, so it looks like I joined your TR mid-stream! I never read about your arrival or first park visits, so going back to catch up!

Hopefully it was worth it and you are still out here. :goodvibes

Thank you. It's nice that our hearts say we are teenagers, sure wish the bodies felt the same.

I love the movie at the end, my son even has to watch it now.

Hi! I see you have a trip planned for next July, I know another family from Scotland going in July. Sure wish I could go. Thanks for joining in and Vickie is doing really well, but I will have her comment.

I am deeply sorry for not being here for so long. We are still working on getting this house in order, just got the office set up a week or so ago. Now my desktop is about on its last byte, so it will have to be replaced soon. Been in a non-Disney mood, but feeling the magic today so thought I would Dis for a bit. Update to follow.

I'm going all the way back to us leaving DHS in the afternoon, I didn't take very many photos, and those I did were sort of odd, such as this gate:

And my pic of the Tronorail/Bus race, not sure which one won

And I took pics of the artwork in the Contemporary and BLT:

Now, when Vickie recommended the Polynesian, I wasn't too sure. I've always been a picky eater, but have been trying to eat other things, so I agreed. Can't remember what I got, but here is a pic of it (some sort of salad with chicken I think)

And I got a pic of Vickie eating because that is what friends do.;)

Funny how Vickie and I took pics of different things in the Poly lobby

And we made it back to DHS

And on the way out

Ok, have to wait on Vickie, I know she is super busy this weekend, so hopefully she will find time next week. Have a great weekend everyone!

Still here! :)

Good to see another update from you.

Looks like a really nice spot to eat at the Poly. That is such a fun resort to explore! So much to see in the lobby.

Did you leave HS earlier in the day with any FP to use later?

We have never been through One Man's Dream :( I know, bad DISser!

Thought I would respond real quick. The funny thing is, Poly is probably my least favorite resort, couldn't figure out why, but just realized that maybe it is because it is so dark. Which is funny because I sit in a dark house all the time.:confused3

Yes, we used FP's from earlier in the day and I'm sure we used them several hours late.

I have to admit, the only reason I probably ever went in One Man's Dream is because of a CM. On our first trip we were trying to figure out something to do before our lunch ADR at 50's Primetime. A CM (guessing management since he was in a button down shirt) saw us looking at a map and asked if he could help. We explained the situation, he pulled out a Palm Pilot which showed him the wait times. This impressed us, it was 2005 after all, didn't have the smart phones we have now. He recommended One Man's Dream since everything else had a long wait. Wish I knew that man's name so I could thank him again.

I need to check out your TR, but it will have to wait because I really need to get some work done around this house. Will it ever end?

I am feeling so guilty for leaving this TR -- :guilty:

I just want you all to know, I've read all your replies and am honored for those who've just found our TR, and glad to say that I am feeling well. :) I'm taking the "years" of medication that is necessary to keep an aggressive cancer at bay, and I believe that I will remain cancer-free!

And now, to continue...although I have to say -- I am mainly doing this because of the pictures, not because I have a clear memory of what we did, when!!! :sad2:

We had some plans for the evening, even beyond the park, so we were hitting the highlights while keeping an eye on the time.

Next up -- RnRC!!

I believe we went in the single-rider line, right, Melissa?? I swear to you, just thinking about this ride gets my blood pressure up, my teeth almost chattering -- it is such a rush for me!! I love it, but man!! Right before the music starts, I am almost bouncing in my seat...so afraid they won't play the music before they let us off, and yet, so freaked out that I know that the music playing means we're about to take off!! :yay:

I took a couple of self-portraits, afterward, but didn't get the cheap shot from the ride.

This is the only place those shots will be shown. BTW, Melissa -- nice shot of me cramming pizza into my face. :lmao:

Bad nighttime shot, but necessary.

I'm like Melissa -- love the parks at night. It's like you can't get enough of them.

ry%3D480

Here's my good-looking BFF, standing in front of her fave ride...I'm sure going to get a good shot of it, herself.

ry%3D480

Don't teens have an obsession with Jack Skellington? Mine does, so I took some pics for her.

That was it for us...we headed out of the park, to our next destination. Good-bye, balloon man!!

Thank you for being understanding and sticking around. RnR and ToT are a couple of my favorites also.

Isn't she a great writer, wish I was.:goodvibes

I believe we had FP's from earlier in the day, because I remember sitting next to Vickie on RnR. Why do I remember this so vividly, because something happened that I now think about every time I ride and I can't believe Vickie didn't mention it.

When the ride stopped, we were stopped in the tunnel. Nothing unusual about that, but we sat...and sat...and sat. Now, has anyone else ever realized the trains have actual working headlights? We now know this because as we were sitting there waiting to move to the unloading station, all of a sudden you could see headlights, like a car about to rearend you. :scared1: It was a very uneasy feeling for me. I looked at Vickie and said "That was a little scary."

I didn't get a redneck photo of the ride though.:sad2:

Here are some pics I took in the park that night:

And my balloon shot

I see all these fantastic pics of balloons, and I keep trying to take one, but you see it never works out for me.
