Two moms get away to act like teenagers...or do they? The End! (Feb 18-21, 2011)

Vickie was texting me where she was as she hit all the stops, so I knew exactly which one she was on

And here is Vickie headed down the escalator, "WHERE IS SHE GOING?"

And where is that great photography she keeps mentioning?

I really must start using my flash.

Pics from our trip walking back:

The room:

We knew we needed to make sure to keep the drapes closed when changing.

That picture above the bed looks more like Pac-Man than Mickey to me.

And yes, I even took a photo of the closet:

My pic of Vickie pointing out how the gap in the bathroom door had been fixed, seems this use to be a complaint

And should this shot be called "Dethroned?"

I promise this is my last post to catch up. Me and the computer have been fighting all day so I don't want the whole "you have too many pics" to come up.

Now Vickie left out her little mean streak. Those balloons can not be found in the park, which is odd because they are such great Mickey and Minnie balloons. The ones in the park, the faces are smaller. Well, Vickie, who I love dearly, puts them in our window so all the kids can see them and want them. I was laughing so hard at this point.

I need a better lens to get a close up.

Something else Vickie left out was while at my truck to get my phone, I realize my little Kodak pocket video camera is gone. I had it under my arm. So we go back outside and then back to the room to look for it. It's not in sight. We go ahead and head off to the bus to get to EE. Surely it will show up, I had to have just misplaced it.

One of my random shots;

It was almost time for AK to close, so no wait at the windows.

Single file everyone:

And I took the same shot as Vickie

I love the colors on this boat dock. Somewhere I have a photo of the characters arriving here on a boat.

And no, I didn't purchase the photopass pics either. Could really kick myself in the you-know-what for that.

And I believe I am now officially caught up. Hope I didn't scare anyone away.:goodvibes

Putting the balloons in the window like that sounds like something I would do! :lmao: I would say it's an easy way to identify where your room is.

Guilty!! Those balloons were so awesome, I wanted to share them with people...then I realized how children would be clamoring for them, and the parents would be like, "okay, okay!" And they would not find them! :lmao: :lmao: This actually gets worse.

This was also the period of time we lost that camera. I left this for Melissa to describe, but then I also was trying to figure out when exactly we might have lost it...but I think it was around the time we were in the back of BLT (or the walk there).

And I believe I am now officially caught up. Hope I didn't scare anyone away.:goodvibes

You just did, with that picture!! :crazy2: I'm surprised no one ever asked me how far along I was...

You fit right in with us!;)

Well, a couple of weeks ago I was walking through a store when a man asked how far along I was? What do you say? I just turned and walked away.

I love both of your random shots. What I do not love is the birds at AK feeding areas. The day we were there last month they were basically attacking us.
I don't think either of you appear to have a belly. I do though, and decided I might as well use it to my advantage. No one has kicked me out of the expectant mother parking yet:rotfl:

OMGosh, I have no idea what I would have done!! I would border on wondering if the guy was being a jerk, to deciding to teaching him a lesson to never ask a woman that!

Wow, they've never been that bad for us there, but on cruise ships when we're docked, the seagulls could get really bad. To the point that you couldn't sit outside to eat without a stalker almost coming right up to your plate and helping itself!!

I don't think either of you appear to have a belly. I do though, and decided I might as well use it to my advantage. No one has kicked me out of the expectant mother parking yet:rotfl:

:rotfl: Hey, especially if there are plenty to be had, why not?

I am enjoying your girl's only trip report! And going with a BFF too!! :)

Hey, PoohGal -- thanks for joining in! :welcome: It was something that I had never dreamed we'd get to do, and it was every bit as awesome as I had imagined it!

Awww! I found your TR! So I am here reading and catching up! What a dream come true being able to go to WDW with your BFF! Your TR is soooo great! I have been crying and laughing almost at the same time. :goodvibes Cannot wait to join in on more of your adventures!!!! :cloud9:

:yay::yay: Yay, you are here!! Thank you for the comments... :flower3:

What was the line, Melissa, like, 25 minutes? It wasn’t too bad for the end of the day. The park was fairly crowded, although not as bad as I’ve seen it before. We grabbed some Fast Passes for later, and jumped in the Standby line. True to standard operating procedure, I took a poor picture.

What’s funny about this, I’ve only ever SPED through this line, or gone through the FP line. So, I was unfamiliar with actually lolly-gagging along, looking at everything. There is SO MUCH to look at; and, much to Melissa’s chagrin, too much to listen to. The bell ringing from the kids at various locations in line got on her nerve. I didn’t mind. :goodvibes

ry%3D480

This picture I have no idea what I was going for. I need to learn to be focused on something.

ry%3D480

Our standby instructions.

ry%3D480

Now, I love the realism that Disney gives – these bushes are actual tea bushes (with tea leaves, obviously). I just realized that there’s a misspelling on this sign. Not that we, as vistors, can reach over from the line to get anywhere close to those bushes.

We got on the train, and off we went!! I never take pictures on the ride. I’m just too busy enjoying it!! It was as fantabulous as always, and the Yeti was performing. If you’ve ever seen one of the Travel channel’s shows about the Yeti on this ride, you’ll see him actually moving – it is ASTONISHING, how real, animatronically smooth it is. But we just see a flash of him…it’s no surprise that every time I’ve seen it, it’s different.

But I have been on the ride when he was “down” and they didn’t show him. That was a bummer – but this time, he was ON.

I hope Melissa got a picture of the picture...we'll have to settle on shop pics from me.

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Are the yeti-kitties cute?? I da luv dem.

ry%3D480

Now, what shall we do whilest we wait for our FP time? I don’t really recall what time the FPs were for, but we both had some hunger pangs. So, we stopped by the Yak & Yeti and had a snacky.

I was up for some eggroll, and Melissa went All-American fries.

ry%3D480

I take this next picture because this is where Melissa SHOULD be sitting.

ry%3D480

But what happens is (and Melissa can put better fidelity to this story, later), some woman goes walking by our table, looking for a little boy. She asks people if they’ve seen him, and someone had (I didn’t think I did…), and she calls out the boy’s name as she goes on. There’s a note in her voice.

For those of you who are moms, you know the note in the voice. It’s not mad, it’s serious – my son is missing. The picture you just saw is the vapor left behind when Melissa immediately gets up and begins looking with the woman. She can tell you her motivation, but I knew it too, and felt it – but I elected to watch over the stuff while she helped this lady.

Now, in this next picture, you can make out a guy in a hat, in the middle. This is the security CM that Melissa has, in her WDW-wisdom, gotten involved. And, she found him QUICKLY!! I’m sure she’ll explain. Fortunately, they found the little boy walking in the main thoroughfare, in front of the restaurant.

ry%3D480

In this picture, you can see the woman with dark hair, and her older son, still talking with the CM…don’t know where Melissa was when I took this one.

ry%3D480

Melissa came back and we finished our snax…was it time for our next ride??

Wow, that was awesome that Melissa did that so quickly to help the woman out!

Okay, I know what you mean about going through the line at EE. I almost never go through the line and the first time I did and looked at things, I was like "oh wow!" I had no idea this was there!

Wow ! wHat a scary moment for that mom. That was quick thinking on Melissas part to get that CM involved.

I had that same eggroll! Yum!!! That's is where we kept having to shoo the birds off our table. In front of Kali by the monkeys, the birds were flying where ever they wanted and they didn't care who was in their way. People were walking and ducking!

Hope the yeti makes an appearance for ride #2!

Another follower. Happy to have you along. I need to get out here on the Dis more, of course the DH would tell me I didn't.:lmao:

I didn't do that much, but I'll tell a little more of what happened in a moment. There are certain lines that when I take newbies, I tell them they have to go stand-by just to see the queue.

The Yeti lights up, but he still doesn't move like he use to. But I still duck every single time.

Birds at WDW are getting vicious.;)

Awesome TR so ar. I love the pics you took. Also I love the title.....very cute :-)

First off, I didn't do that much about the little Boy. Once the mother checked the bathroom and he wasn't in there, that's when I knew we needed to get a CM involved. I didn't find security, but found a CM picking up trash, who then got one of the CM's with a radio to radio security. I've seen this happen enough now that I know the best thing to do is get Disney to work its magic. Those CM's come out of nowhere. (If you have ever been in a Wal-Mart during a code Adam, they work the same way.) I'm getting all nervous just thinking about it. To me that is the scariest thing because most people are from out of town or from another country, and one thing to lose sight in the local store, its another where everyone is a stranger.

Ok, now I will back up and throw in some of my random pics.:rotfl: Here's one of the FP machine area

Now the reason Vickie made a comment about not taking photos of the ride is because of me

And I was noticing all kinds of stuff I hadn't noticed before

Our last trip together, Vickie pointed out that bird that drops down here, so now I play a game of, "Will the bird be there?"

Nope, not this time.

I didn't get the ride photo! Probably came out all blurry. Sometimes me and the camera work well together and sometimes we don't.

And that Yeti shirt Vickie took a photo of, I want that. I love anything showing characters wearing Mickey Ears.

I didn't take any photos while we ate, so that's it for me on this portion. Back to you Vickie.:goodvibes

Very cool TR. Have added to my favorites. Hope you had a nice trip! I'm sure we will all find out!

It was, indeed, time for our FP ride.

It just occurred to me that, all of you will be riding with us FOUR times...:lmao:

The line had a few things I thought photo-worthy. I saw this kitteh on the desk in the line, and struggled to get this angle -- because, as you know, this line goes faster, so there isn't a lot of lolly-gagging time:

ry%3D480

Then, you'll notice there are idols everywhere, that they have given offerings to. Should have used my flash on this one:

ry%3D480

Ever noticed these lanterns, that are made from 3 dragons? I know I saw at least 2 of these:

ry%3D480

For some reason, this ride wasn't quite as smooth, I felt. Yes, we did see the Yeti...and there's something else. I have never taken my hands off of the bars during a rollercoaster ride -- ever. Until...this ride.:banana: That's right, I got up the nerve on this second ride to lift my hands in the air for the very first time on any ride drop!! And, here's the proof:

ry%3D480

Kind of. I know, it's dark, and you can't see my face.

I think it's interesting that Melissa, the rollercoaster aficionado, is holding on! :lmao: I didn't plan this act -- it came upon me suddenly. Nor did I realize until I did it, what a significant event it was. Ah, well.

Wait!!! Here's a better one -- I was able to snap a better picture, and just came upon it!

ry%3D480

And that, my friends, was the end of Animal Kingdom for us. I don't even remember leaving, really...but we went back to the Contemporary, looked for Melissa's camera, and then left again for our next destination. I'm really having a tough time remembering exactly what we did "in-between..."

ry%3D480

Here, she's either texting her hubby, or putting something on Facebook. I am so envious of people who can FB away from home...

ry%3D480

So...where are we headed next? :) Supper-time is closing in fast, and we want some fast food...and some adult beverage!
:cool2:
