With only one week to go, I am becoming more and more concerned about Columbus Day weekend. Here is my current itinerary:

Sun- relax at hotel until MNSSHP at MK
Mon- Blizzard Beach
Tues- Magic Kingdom
Wed- day off/ DTD
Thur- MGM
Fri- relax AM/ Ft Wilderness PM
Sat- AK 'til 4, then Epcot

Pros of this plan: We spend our last day at the parks, topped off by Illuminations.
Concern: How bad will AK and Epcot be on Sat?

Second itinerary (Is this better?):

Sun- hotel/ MNSSHP
Mon- MGM
Tues- MK
Wed- hotel/DTD
Thurs- AK and Epcot
Fri- hotel/ Ft. Wilderness
Sat- Blizzard Beach

Pros of this plan: We avoid AK and Epcot that Saturday.
Concern: How bad will BB be that Saturday?

Alternately, is there a better plan that I haven't thought of? We only have 3 day PH+ tickets, plus MNSSHP. I need help! Thanks!

I like plan 1 better. It divides your park and non park days nicely. Epcot is the park best at handling crowds without it being overly noticeable. I would try that. Also, I m a huge Illuminations fan and that is a terrific way to end a trip.

Enjoy

I agree - and also, BB is scheduled to close the following week or so, so there may be some locals who are trying to get in their last few Saturdays there - I just think that as a rule it would be less crowded during the week AND I like your idea of ending the vacation in a more magical way.

I vote for Plan #1; for your plan #2 week, I believe Epcot is closing early on that Thursday so your Thursday plans would be all messed up if you followed through with that plan (is that 10/9?).

Another vote here for plan #1 and yes Epcot closes at 3 p.m. on Thursday October 9 so you could not do Epcot that day. I read your plans on another post and I believe you have a PS at Garden Grill on Saturday. Stick with those plans and relax! BB is much more likely to be overwhelmingly crowded on a Saturday than AK or Epcot.

Have fun!

Wow, thanks so much for all the replies! Okay, you have made it unanimous. I will stick to my original plan and try not to worry about Saturday. I had read that Epcot was closing early on Thurs (yes, 10/9), but somehow I forgot that when panic started setting in! And Miscrapper, you are right. I do have PS at GG on Sat. (and the re-hitching ceremony to boot), I would have had to try to change that. So I am now taking a deep breath and trying to relax! Thanks again! :)

Just a quick aside - I too vote for Plan #1, but I noticed that you don't have much time at all in Epcot - Just 1/2 day, including a PS.

Epcot is a HUGE park, with a lot to offer. I notice that you have Tuesday down as Magic Kingdom all day - I assume that you are planning to do Spectromagic & Fireworks this day. You should be able to get a lot of MK done during MNSSHP.

You might think about spending 1/2 day at Epcot that day, then hopping onto the monorail to finish up at MK & do the parade, etc.

I forgot to say "See Ya There!!!" I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait! It doesn't look like we will be at the same parks on the same days unless I bump into ya at DtD on Wednesday. I will have my lime green Mickey head in my passpocket thingee. :teeth:

Remember when I said this?
...
So I am now taking a deep breath and trying to relax!
Well, I have a new concern! The weather forecast has changed in the past few days :( , and they are now prediciting cooler temps (works well for me), and isolated or scattered showers almost every day (that we can work around). The problem is on Monday (our waterpark day), they are predicting 79 degrees and scattered thunderstorms! The only easy change I can make is to flipflop my BB and MGM days, so... How's MGM on a Mon and BB on a Thurs?

Those are the days we're doing those parks on our trip...MGM on a Monday & TL on a Thursday. You should be fine. From what I've read (but I'm no expert) most people head to MK & AK on Monday so it's suppose to be the best day for MGM. TL may be a little busier at the end of the week as people have done the parks & are taking a day off but I doubt you'll have much to worry about at this time of year. Have fun. :)
