When making my last reservation for Feb. at the beginning of Sep. I forgot I had 2 differnt accounts with points.(1-OKW and 1-BCV,both June use year) and I just borrowed points to make the reservation. But today I thought I would like to make July 2003 reservations for BCV and then it hit me that I did not know which account the points had come from!!( I did not specify which to use and I was never asked)Well I call MS and sure enough they had used the BVC points, but they said they could switch it to OKW points for me. My ? is, are you usually asked by MS or is this something I need to remember to tell them when making the reservation?? We just bought the BCV in May so this is my first time dealing with 2 home resorts. I am pretty sure when I used the points this summer the CM indicated which points were coming from where.I will just need to write this down next to the MS phone # so I do not forget again!! Joan

We are now a 2 "HOME" family and I too would be interested to know the answer to this. I know if I was to use the 11month window it would come from the "HOME" resort I was going to stay at - but at the 7month window when all point are good at all places I'd be curious if they would ask me.

We own at 2 resorts also, and the best advice I can give is to always tell them which points to use! That way there is no confusion. It is better to be safe than sorry, and it only takes a few seconds to say, "I would like to make a reservation at OKW for (insert dates and room size) using XXX of my BWV points and the remainder of the reservation with my VWL points."

We're a 4 soon to be 5 home family. I usually plan out ahead where I'm taking them from but if I've forgotten to tell them, they ask. I put notebook paper in the old binders they used to give out, and use different colored ink to help me keep everything straight.

I had to borrow some points from next year and MS reminded me that I had the option to borrow off of either contract. But as the others have posted, double check with them so you can properly account for your points.

I would even call back a few weeks later to make sure they took from the right contract.

When I'm finished making a reservation I usually review with MS. They don't seem to mind and then I know we are in agreement. Only once in 8-1/2 years have they goofed and not done what I asked. But, it turned out that what MS did was actually better for me in the long run.

While I think they do a pretty good job of helping you make the best choices, I'd tell them exactly what points and use year to use. I always do this and give them a before and after points totals for ALL OF MY CONTRACTS each time. That way if there's any discrepancy, we can handle it ASAP.

It is a good idea to let them know where to take the points from but you can always ask for a summary of your account which will tell you what points have been used for what & when.

We have 3 homes with 2 different UY......

I always state not only which home resort points but also which contract.

Our OKW and BCV points are in one UY (and one contract number) many times they will tell me I have X amount of points in that contract but they never say you have X OKW points and X BCV points.... unless I ask them to break it down for me.

My advice is always let them know which resort points (and UY) you want them to use.

Thanks everyone for your replies! I will definitely write this down so next time I call, I know which points are coming from where!Joan:smooth:

I have 2 home resorts and the last 2 times I made a reservation, MS asked which resort I wanted to use.

One weird thing I've found is sometimes I get a strange reaction if asking "how many BWV points I have left in this use year" or conversely "how many VWL points?" And I've had them almost every time try to use the wrong points and then go "oh those can't be used for this resort yet" until I tell them "no, use the VWL points and borrow x amount from next use year...." or some such thing. It seems like they're a little confused by the two home resorts thing themselves! I guess multiple resort owners are a rather small group in the grand scheme of DVC.

It really is pretty complex to track, and the statements that they're always happy to send out to you aren't really any clearer! Particularly if you've cancelled anything or changed plans....

Do make sure you know what they're taking from where!
