Two for One: Double Disney Birthdays! *Meg nonTR upd 9/23* // *Help out Katie! 10/22*

Just a simple re-routing of the queue. :rolleyes1

But, I seriously loved everything about it. The decor, the little "beaches," everything. I'd never seen it before but I decided I HAD to stay there sometime, even if it's just for a night or two. Being able to walk to Epcot was really, really appealing to me, too. ;)

Me, too, on the desire to stay at Beach Club. I love all the tropical resorts - Polynesian, Old Key West, Caribbean Beach, and Beach Club.

Walking to Epcot would be even better than monorailing to Poly, so it may even have Poly beat for me.

Beach Club is on my list too

Hooray for the best night at AK! I'm almost there in my TR too, which is slightly pathetic because that was my second day and it was almost at the end of your trip :rotfl:

Have you had a crazy thunderstorm today? Sarah said it was really bad where she lives(right outside of Worcester). It hasn't hit us yet, but I'll know when it's on the way because my dog, who is currently outside, will jump against the door begging to come in :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear about your bad sunburn, Meghan, but I am glad you are feeling better!

Yeay for having found a "real" campground (whatever that looks like ;)) and making more definite plans with meeting up with Katie!

Your dad cracks me up playing with the queue lines and standing behind the podium at the Beach Club! :lmao:

Today was the day that, had our flight not gotten canceled, we would have been going home. Instead, we ended up going to DTD, then Epcot, then AK for the nighttime EMH and a meet with Christine Tink9721!

EoS was our very first stop because we were all starving.

I know that my dad and I both got the Hawaiian BBQ sandwich, I think Kailyn got a BLT, and I think my mom got the veggie sandwich. I only got a picture of my food.

When we got to BC, I fell in love. Love, love, love. Before I could start looking around more, my dad made me take a picture.

I, of course, was probably fighting with Facebook and iPhoto and therefore I don't have any more pictures from BC. But, I seriously loved everything about it. The decor, the little "beaches," everything. I'd never seen it before but I decided I HAD to stay there sometime, even if it's just for a night or two. Being able to walk to Epcot was really, really appealing to me, too. ;)

I love that you got to do so many great things on your last day at Disney instead of going home!!! How exciting for you guys! :)

That EoS Hawaiian BBQ sandwich is AMAZING!!! I ordered it since it was recommended by so many people on DIS and also because I loved all the ingredients! My husband got the meatball sandwich (it was actually called "Cannonballs" on our receipt!) and he said it was better than the local pizza shops around where we live!

I also wanted to tell you that since we did our Private Photo Session at the Beach Club Resort, I have at least 50+ pictures from the BC, YC, and Boardwalk areas. After we were done with our photo session, we walked around for awhile & of course I took tons of pics! If you'd like any of them, just PM me your email address & I'll gladly send the picture files to you! Of course, that requires me to first get my butt into gear & START my trip report! haha!

Meg, it seems to be taking both of us forever to get to our AK meet :rotfl: It's really bad for me. That was only my second day! :rotfl2:

That's exactly what it was :rotfl2:

I'm actually not super interested in the Poly...probably because I haven't been there in a while, aside from just passing by on the monorail, but Beach Club was like love at first sight for me.

Beach Club is on my list too

I'm probably going to do that in the next next update because I don't want it to be over! Plus I'm meeting up with Katie next Saturday so we need to be able to update about that, too.

We haven't had any crazy thunderstorms recently, which is sad for me :rotfl: While I was at work a couple of weeks ago, Charles came in and showed me the radar on his iPhone and it was ALL yellow and red heading towards us...but we didn't get anything. I was SO disappointed because I love thunderstorms and that looked like a huge one :sad2:

Sorry to hear about your bad sunburn, Meghan, but I am glad you are feeling better!

Thanks, Jackie! I just have tan lines (crazy tan lines, for me) so needless to say I am totally getting straps sewn on to my currently strapless bridesmaid gown. :rolleyes1

I think that Katie and I have settled on a place to meet! She found some caverns about 35 miles from Albany, and I had to check with Charles because he is slightly claustrophobic, but it looks like we're meeting there next Saturday and I'm SO excited! I'm going to start driving Charles crazy talking about it.

I still don't know what a "real" campground looks like. Ours doesn't look much different from the other ones that we were looking at but what do I know? :rotfl2:

Wait till I get to the part about meeting with Christine at AK...while we were going through the EE queue, I had to keep on interrupting myself while I was talking to say, "dad, what are you doing?" "Dad, please stop." "No, I won't take a picture of you there/doing that!"

I love that you got to do so many great things on your last day at Disney instead of going home!!! How exciting for you guys! :)

Getting to have fun on what was supposed to be our last day was amazing! And I love the Hawaiian BBQ sandwich; I can't bring myself to try anything else because I love that one so much. Kailyn is super picky and she loved her BLT, which says a lot. EoS went over very well with her and my dad.

I can't wait to see any pictures from that!! Thank you for the offer, that is so nice of you!

Meg, it seems to be taking both of us forever to get to our AK meet :rotfl: It's really bad for me. That was only my second day! :rotfl2:

Seriously! It's probably not even going to be in the next update for me; I still need to stretch out my part. :rotfl:

Thank you to any readers we still have! I know I went a month between updates but seeing as I don't have a trip planned and need to live vicariously through all my DIS friends, I don't want my trip to end!

Katie and I have finally finalized our plans to meet up -- we are meeting up on Saturday in Cooperstown, which is a lot more central for both of us (it's about 4 hours for them and 4.5 for us.) We're going to meet in time to get lunch and hopefully be able to hang out for about 5-6 hours. And hopefully get a good amount of pictures in that time to share. ;) I am really excited to finally see Katie and Patrick, and so is Charles, but he's a guy, so he doesn't say much about it unless I actually say first, "I'm excited", and he says, "I know you are. I am, too." :rotfl2: Can we still call it a DIS meet even though Katie and I have met before and she's become one of my real-life BFF's?

Wednesday, February 17 continued

When I last left you, a really long time ago, we had just gone to Goofy's Candy Co. to get some rice krispy treats, took the bus to Beach Club, stayed there long enough for me to fall in love with it, and took the boat over to Epcot from there. I don't have any pictures from that uploaded, but we perused the World Showcase and I took pictures of things I wanted to get, but didn't want to spend the money on, like the little wooden animals in the Mexico pavilion. I took a picture of this, because I am pretty sure that Kailyn came home with one.

22334_320934194094_505059094_3398634_1752702_n.jpg

We also rode SSE, and I made sure that we had the narration in English. I never, ever get sick of SSE. My brother had a tendency to fall asleep on it, but I absolutely love it.

After Epcot, we went back to Pop to rest up before nighttime EMH at AK and a DIS meet with Christine Tink9721 and her mom! Christine and I rode HM together the night before, but this time we'd get to hang out and talk more.

I took this waiting at the bus stop.

22334_320934204094_505059094_3398636_91921_n.jpg

I had been texting Christine and finding out where she and her mom were. We ended up meeting at Dinosaur so we could ride together. Christine's mom sat it out because it is too jerky for her. This was the first time on it:

22334_320934219094_505059094_3398638_7353618_n.jpg

I was SO proud of myself for this because I actually managed to pose, instead of keeping my hand over my mouth and flipping out the entire time. Kailyn, of course, is sitting between our parents with her face covered.

This was the second time on it. I have ALWAYS wanted to take a picture on it with me pointing the other way, but I never could because I was terrified. I managed to do it despite Kailyn's death grip on my arm. I think that this might have been the first time she actually SAW the t-rex.

22334_320934229094_505059094_3398639_5855188_n.jpg

I can't remember the order in which we did everything, so Christine can correct me on anything we did. I know that we rode Primeval Whirl (Hurl), but my mom and Christine's mom sat it out, so it was me, Christine, Kailyn, and my dad. I hadn't been on it in SO long so I was really excited to ride. My dad kept on making some really strange noise, and it was hilarious. I also said "Primeral Whirl" before I was corrected. I for some reason have always thought there was an "R" in it, even though I am from the greater Boston area and we usually forget our R's. :lmao:

We also got to ride EE a grand total of THREE TIMES! :dance3: Not in a row, because I'm pretty sure I would have gotten sick from that, but three times in one night! By the end of the night, we had done Primeval Whirl once, Dinosaur twice, and Everest three times. While we were in the EE queue, my dad kept on grabbing the stuff on the walls (I guess to see if it was really attached) and occasionally asking me to "take a picture of me doing this!" While we were going through the queue and Christine and I were talking, I kept on interrupting myself to say, "dad, what are you doing?" "Dad, please stop." "DAD! WILL YOU PLEASE STOP?" "Dad, you're going to get us kicked out."

I love the EE queue...

I thought this was cute :cutie:

22340_317972509094_505059094_3388385_4123733_n.jpg

A couple of times riding EE, it just Christine, my dad, and I, because Kailyn can only take so much, too. My dad went with a single rider a couple of times so Christine and I could sit together, and one of those times, the single rider (who just kept on getting off the ride and back into the single rider line), threw up a little bit after the ride. I forget how many times in a row he said he rode, but it was a lot.

At some point before we parted ways, we made sure to get a picture together, for us, our reports, and our MeMom. :teeth: Kailyn wanted to sit IN what we were going to be posing with.

Me and Christine!

22334_320934239094_505059094_3398640_6705957_n.jpg

The night at AK was so much fun and it was so nice to get to meet Christine! We had a blast together and we still talk via text and FB pretty often. I am very grateful to the DISboards for allowing me to make some awesome friends

Up next: the last full day. :sad1: Before that, though, there will be an update from when we get to see Katie and Patrick! :yay: :woohoo:

Yay!!! That night was so much fun!!! I just checked my notes(I took them in the notepad on my phone haha) and we rode Dinosaur, then Everest twice, then Primeval Whirl, then Dinosaur again. My mom and I left after that because she was exhausted  I love how calm I look in the first Dinosaur picture. "Yeah. There's a giant T-rex right there. No problem." :rotfl:

I saw the picture over on MeMom's thread with you and Katie! Cute picture! Glad you had a great time together!

Love the Dinosaur pictures! Wait until you see ours!

Your dad cracks me up manhandling all the stuff in the Everest queue! :rotfl:

Aww Meg how did I miss your last update :guilty: Forgive me? :flower3:

I hope you had a great time with Katie yesterday! I LOVE, LOVE Cooperstown. My family and I go up there every year. It's one of my favorite places other than WDW.

Your Dinosaur pictures are so funny! You can always count on Kailyn for a good pose, even if it's not intentional! :rotfl:

Okay, then one of the times I rode EE wasn't with you, so it must have been with Kailyn and my dad. If you weren't there for that I probably rode with Kailyn. This is why taking notes is good. I have a notepad on my phone, too, and I probably should have used it :rotfl2:

You look calm, but more importantly, you look normal. I, however, cannot take a normal picture. Charles was trying to take a couple of pictures of me at the Baseball Hall of Fame yesterday and I was having a hard time just smiling. I think I stuck my tongue out after he took one picture and was going for another. It's so bad. :rotfl:

Thanks Jackie! I'm going do an update about it, it was SO much fun and I really can't wait to do it again.

I can't wait to see your Dinosaur picture! And my dad was driving me insane, I kept on trying to tell him he was going to get us kicked out and he kept on ignoring me :rotfl:

Awww it's okay! And we had a really good time yesterday; it was the Baseball Hall of Fame induction weekend so it was really crowded, but we had SO much fun. I'd never been to Cooperstown and didn't even really know anything of it, but when I told my dad we were meeting Katie and Patrick there, he said, "You're going to Cooperstown? That's hallowed ground!" :rotfl2: That and the whole area is a really good halfway point for us, too; I think it ended up being 4 hours for each of us. We actually all got there within a few minutes of each other, which was awesome!

I love seeing our Dinosaur pictures because of Kailyn. I am pretty sure there are people who pose like Kailyn on purpose :rotfl:

Yesterday, Charles and I went to Cooperstown, NY for the day to see Katie and Patrick. We had a blast and I really can't wait to do it again. I was so excited that Charles finally got to meet them and especially excited that Charles finally got to meet Katie, who has become one of my very best friends in the world because of the DISboards. We all ended up getting there around the same time (around 11:30) and parked in a parking lot where you could be picked up by a trolley and taken to different spots around the area (it was $5 to get a pass to ride the trolley all day.) We went to the Baseball Hall of Fame first. Most of these from the Hall of Fame are from Charles and the rest of the pictures are from both Charles and I, hopefully Katie can add some of hers and Patrick's too, and add her own commentary!

More Red Sox stuff, but I am pretty sure that no one in Boston likes Manny Ramirez anymore.

After the Hall of Fame, we got some really good pizza and then wandered a little, then went to wait for the trolley. Katie and I really loved the dog in the background; it was SO cute.

38197_1359590709947_1236900013_30858805_4934861_n.jpg

We went back to the trolley stop to figure out what to do next. Patrick drove us around to a couple of different breweries, but one was closed for the day (for some strange reason, I can't remember why but Katie might) and there were some equally strange people milling around. :rolleyes1 The next we went to was really crowded, so Patrick ended up getting a couple of things and we ended up leaving. We went to a cider mill and ended looking around the little store there. Charles got a half a pie and some apple cider doughnuts for us to share. I had one on the way home and they were AMAZING. We also all got some cider slush, which was also amazing. I am already craving some more of the slush. There was a place out back with some benches, and ducks to feed.

There were some really cute ducks with "fros." I forget what kind of duck they were, but they were SO cute with their little tufts of hair!

34966_420235924094_505059094_4518825_3047541_n.jpg

We started to take some pictures together before we left, since it was a nice place and it was a better spot for picture taking than a parking lot. The group pictures were taken by setting up our cameras on a little ledge, then someone pressing the buttons and hurrying over to the rest of us. Lots more fun than asking one of the people there to take it for us. :rotfl2: This is my favorite one of me and Katie.

We ended up driving back to the parking lot after that and we finally parted ways at around 6:30 because it was about 4 hours of driving for all of us. And I forgot to take pictures, but Katie gave me a Goofy "Big Eye" Vinylmation, a sheet of Vinylmation stickers, and a pin with the evil queen from Snow White on it. She also gave me a Buffalo Sabres insulated can thing and Charles a Sabres decal. :lmao:

I was so happy that we ended up getting to spend that much time there, and it was SUCH a good day! I already can't wait to meet up with them again  It definitely won't be a year before we see each other again, either! Charles and I are leaving for New Hampshire for camping tomorrow morning, bright and early (I think 6 AM early) and today is the day we're going to be getting last-minute stuff and packing stuff into my car. Have a great weekend, guys!

You look calm, but more importantly, you look normal. I, however, cannot take a normal picture. Charles was trying to take a couple of pictures of me at the Baseball Hall of Fame yesterday and I was having a hard time just smiling. I can only take normal pictures when I don't know they're being taken or, like in that picture, I forget my picture is being taken :rotfl:

Hey we forgot to mention the sad little dino in AK that couldn't fly! :rotfl2:

More Red Sox stuff, but I am pretty sure that no one in Boston likes Manny Ramirez anymore.

:rotfl: I thought so too but when the Dodgers came to Fenway in June for inter-league games, he did get quite a few cheers. I have mixed opinions on him. He went out horribly but it's hard to forget everything he did for the team. He also behaved really well when the Dodgers came in June and didn't act like a jerk like I thought he would. He was just there to play baseball, not to be in the spotlight. I don't know. He can definitely be a jerk but I've heard so many sides to the story. I have very mixed feelings

:worship:

I love the little boy sleeping in the stroller :rotfl:

I'm glad you guys had such a great time!!! Even though I'm so jealous that you went to the Baseball Hall of Fame :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Great pics! I almost forgot how busy Cooperstown is during induction weekend, it's been a while since I was there during that time. I was there in June and what a difference it is in crowds, though. It was like a ghost town!

I'm guessing the crowded brewery was Ommegang? I finally made it there my last trip because I went with BF and wanted to show him a good time (since he is not a baseball fan lol) and I was expecting it to be empty since it was off season. But there were still bunches of people driving up. Not as bad as I can imagine it to be in the summer, though.

Aww I LOVE Fly Creek Cider Mill! My favorite picture is your favorite of the one of you and Katie, it's so cute! :thumbsup2

Actually Brewery Ommegang (or as we called it, that Hippy beer place), was closed due to some music festival. The reason it ended up being called "that Hippy beer place" was because there were a ton of people setting up campsites next to their old VW vans...The Cooperstown Brewing Company was the one that was super crowded.

Charles gets annoyed with me b/c I don't usually know how to take a normal picture. After I stuck my tongue out after he took a picture, I got a look. When we were camping, he kept on taking pictures of me eating or reading and I started either giving HIM a look, or making a face, and he was getting irritated with me. But since it's hard to make a face while eating cereal, I kept on opening my mouth instead. Gross but true, and it made him stop. :rotfl2:

I forgot about that little dino! Awww I wonder if he's fixed!

You definitely need to go there; I am not a huge baseball person but it was really, really cool to see all the old stuff! Although Katie and I were wondering how some of them were saved and made it into a museum :rotfl: The Ted Williams statue reminded me of when my brother met Johnny Pesky. He said something like, "yeah, Ted would have been here, but we would have had to go dig him up." :lmao: Mike didn't know how to react or if it would be okay to laugh!

I felt the same way about going to Salem in late May! There was hardly anyone there. When I went earlier in the month or last month with my parents, it was much, much more crowded. Still not as crazy as it is reputed to get in October, though.

Katie answered your question about the brewery. I couldn't remember the proper name, just what we called it. :rotfl2: The cider mill was so cute! I could have stayed there for many more hours just feeding the ducks (and eating cider slush.) :rolleyes1

:lmao: I keep on remembering that name and laughing! I couldn't even tell Christina which one it was that was crowded b/c I couldn't think of the actual name of Brewery Ommegang, just OUR name for it, and making fun of it. I feel like we must have looked very out of place.

The Ted Williams statue reminded me of when my brother met Johnny Pesky. He said something like, "yeah, Ted would have been here, but we would have had to go dig him up." :lmao: Mike didn't know how to react or if it would be okay to laugh!

:rotfl: Aww I love Johnny Pesky. He's such a cute little old man! I always cry on opening day when he comes out to say "play ball"

I live about 10 minutes from Cooperstown and around here we now better then to go anywhere near their in the summer time:scared1::headache:, when my kids have to be seen at the hospital i dread going over there I have lived here for 20 years and have never been to the Baseball hall of fame !!!!

He is adorable. And you sound like me with crying at stuff like that :rotfl2:

That is like us and Salem, Massachusetts during the month of October! I will not go there for that whole month because I have heard horror stories of how crazy it gets. And I live not too far from Boston (it's a very short train ride away) and there's a bunch of stuff there that I haven't done that Boston is famous for, like the Duck Tours, just because I live here and I am of the "I live here and can go whenever I want to" mentality.

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to update that we have booked an October trip! October 27-November 1st! It will be me, my mom, Patrick, and his mom! Should be an interesting trip! Patrick's sister was supposed to go, but she decided that she didn't want to, so my mom is taking her place! We also bought Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets for October 31st. We will be staying at All Star Movies and we have free QSD!
