Two families staying in 2BR at BCV

This will be my first time staying in a 2BR and first time having friends on the same reservation as us – so I have a few questions:

All MDE tags were sent to me. Will all magic bands also be sent to me? Wondering if I should wait so I only have one package to mail.

If they are getting in hours before me, can I call Disney and flag the reservation so they can get into the room? If I do online check-in?
Have the resorts gotten better about splitting so their bands charge to their credit card, and my bands change to mine? It seemed early on they weren’t able to do this but I have read of people doing it lately? Is it consistent or hit/miss based on CM at desk?

When they say towels/linens not provided for the 9th guest – what does that really mean? Will we have 8 bath towels, 8 hand towels and 8 washcloths? I’m thinking we only need to bring bedding if we are planning on bringing a cot/air mattress for one of the kids?

When they say provide own linens they mean that their will be no linens, towels, anything for that person. If you are planning on having 3 children stay in 1 bed then you won't need anything. If you are bringing an air mattress or such then bring linens for it. If that person needs towels then bring them for them or buy a towel pack. They do not provide a bed(air mattress or cot) you must provide everything you want for that person to use- the unit is set for 8 and has nothing for the 9th person.

You have to confirm a single mailing address when you go to customize the MagicBands. If you don't customize the MagicBands, they will have grey ones waiting at the resort when you check-in.

We had three persons in the king bed, so we had 9 people, but didn't need extra bedding. You'll love it...enjoy

With a BCV two bedroom you will get eight bath towels, four hand towels and eight face cloths. If you want more, you can buy an extra towel pack of four towels, two hand towels, four face cloths and a tub mat for $6. You'll need to purchase a second one when they do trash and towel service because they'll take all the dirty towels when they do that.

You'll probably want to bring shampoo and conditioner from home. You'll only get three small bottles every four days (one for the bathroom in the second bedroom, one by the jetted tub and one by the shower).

And if you bring an airbed or cot, you will need to provide sheets and stuff.

What about checkin? If I do online check in, can our friends get into the room when they arrive, or do they need to wait for us? Just want to let them know what to expect. Thanks!!

I've never done online check in, so this is separate from that.
I'm the sole owner of my DVC contract. For my last trip, my friend arrived to the resort first, and was able to get into the room no problem, since her name was on the reservation. I did call member services, but they acted as if it wasn't necessary.

When I checked in, I linked my CC to my band, and there was not issue separating these (she had also put a card on hers).

The magic band pack came to my apartment, so I sent the band and the DME tags together, however for my second trip the bands are not going to be shipped, and will be waiting for me at the front desk. I learned this from my account at "My Disney Experience" after I linked my DVC reservation (there's a note at the top). I didn't have the option to personalize these bands. I'm not sure if this is because I've already had a set sent to me, or if they just realized how much it costs to ship that much stuff. This was booked 8 months out, so it wasn't because of short notice. If you don't have the note in MDE, you will receive all of the bands at once after personalization.

With regards to the credit cards, you should make sure to tell the CM specifically who is supposed to have privileges on which bands at the time that your friends add their card.

We were just at Kidani and when we checked-in, our friends added their CC to their bands; or so we thought. When we checked out four days later, I had two charges from one of them on my account. When I went to the front desk to sort this out, they discovered that only one of the two adults was linked to his magic band. The female half of the couple was still linked to my CC with her magic band, despite the fact that she was the one who presented their CC to link to their MB's at check-in.

No big deal for us -- she only charged about $20. But, it could be a big deal for someone else. It was not something that the CM could easily fix, so my friend just paid us in cash.

An adult whose name is on the reservation is certainly able to check in if room is ready (make sure they know 4pm is the earliest check in time and the room many not be available until later.) They will need to provide their credit card to open the folio for the room, but you can change it later. If there is a package associated then you may have to check in again to get the magic bands for the rest of the party.
