Two dining questions, please

I know that Animator's Palate only does the animated placemat thing once during a 7-night cruise. Can anyone tell me if it is the first or the second night in AP?

Also, I remember reading years ago that the servers all came out one night and paraded around with the flags of their home countries. Do they still do this?

We're on the Fantasy in June. Thanks!

It was on our 2nd night on the Magic. There's was a different abbreviated menu vs the standard prince and Princess menu in the other dining rooms.

The animation of your placemat in AP happens towards the end of the cruise. The first time in AP is with Crush.

They did on our Med cruise in 2013. It was during the last night's dining.

On the Fantasy the animation show is your last time in AP, either the 2nd or 3rd depending on your rotation.

They do not do any of the parades in the MDRs on the Fantasy, pirate or the flags on the last night.

The new ships and the Magic have a new feature in Animators Palate. Guests are given a placemat and a magic marker. You create a character in the provided space. You draw the face and body of anything you want. Then the CM's take the drawings up and later in the evening your drawing in manipulated and put to music in the MDR. Very cool. It's a not to miss event if you haven't seen and done it before. Trying not to give to many details. Just go with it and enjoy!

I'm hoping the "new ships" includes the DREAM. I started a list of all the tips and hints of special things one could do or happen from all the inputs of past Disney cruisers. Looks like page four is started. We know we can not do everything on one 5 day cruise so maybe another cruise

It doesn't include the Dream. Only those ships/itineraries that allow everyone to be able to dine in Animator's Palate twice during the cruise.

Animation Magic show is only on the Fantasy & Magic.
