... my double pre-trip report

Welcome to my PTR for not one but two upcoming Disney Trips that I will be planning within the next year! :lovestruc (can't even believe it!) One to Tokyo Disney and one to Disneyland California!

** UPDATE! We've gone to Disney Tokyo and I've started a TR!

Here's a Teaser Pic...

and here's the link for the TR! See you there!

It's very weird that I'm even planning a trip to a Disney park, let alone two trips considering my circumstances at the moment.

I'm originally from Toronto, Canada... not too far off from Disney World Florida, but I am currently living (for a year) in the amazing Sunshine Coast in Queensland.... AUSTRALIA!! (I'm here getting my teaching degree)

So you can see why then, I didn't think I'd be seeing a Disney Park this year... until I got the idea that I should do a little stop over in Disneyland in LA on my way home next July. Innocent enough... and I was even able to convince my boyfriend, Craig to agree without a fight (he moved down here with me).

I didn't expect him to be quite so agreeable to the next part of it... My sneaky idea to get him to join me on a trip to Tokyo to see my dream, Tokyo Disneyland and the amazing Tokyo Disney Sea, imagine my surprise when he excitedly agreed! We got an amazing deal on flight and air to Tokyo this upcoming november!

So that's it then, this is my PTR to Disney Tokyo and Disneyland, CA.

As of right now I'm a bit overwhelmed with the planning so feel free to make suggestions or voice opinions! Last time I wrote a PTR I found that really helped out! :thumbsup2

That's all for now... I'll be back with some planning stuff soon!!

... the story so far

Now that you kinda know a little bit about us, I suppose it's time to post about what I do know about the trips so far... which isn't too much! In all honesty I'm a bit overwhelmed planning these two trips. Not so much the Disneyland one but definitly the Tokyo Trip.

What I do know so far is that the Tokyo Disney Trip will be taking place on November 27th - December 5th. We'll be spending 3 days in Tokyo Disney (during the week when it's less crowded) One full day will be spent at Disneyland, one full day will be spent at Disney Sea and the last day will be split between the two, depending on what we wanna do. I have to get a Duffy Bear while I'm there as well.

Our other days in Tokyo will be spent touring and sightseeing, all self guided which should be interesting. My plans so far are to go to shopping, visit the Ghilbri museum, visit some temples and gardens, maybe try and see the Cove area and eat a whole lot of sushi! I'm just starting to look into what there is to do there and there seems to be a whole lot! eeep!

For Disneyland, CA I'm not sure of the exact dates yet, as we are figuring that out as we speak but it will be on a stop over on our way home. We have two stop overs from Australia coming home to Toronto, one being Fiji and the other being LA. We'll be spending 3 nights in Fiji and 5 nights in LA. I think we will end up being in LA on or around July 15th (2011).

Like I said we'll be doing 5 nights in LA. We'll be renting a car so what we'd like to do is spend one day in Hollywood (Rodeo Drive, walk of fame, star home tour etc) Then we'd like to visit a couple beaches (ie Laguna) and then we'll be doing 2 days at Disneyland/California Adventure.

So thats about the extent of my planning so far. I also have my budgets for each trip which are pretty small but we've found some really half off great sales on Expedia and JetStar so we should be able to keep to budget. We are doing so much other traveling this year as well so it's really important we keep things to budget.

So that's all I have for now... thoughts anyone?!

The planning itch has realllly been getting to me lately!

I'm trying so hard to be good and focus on my last two weeks of classes, I have SO much due!

I did finish my huge math portfolio finially today so I gave myself a little treat and went to Flight Center and bought tickets to the Ghibli Museum. It looks like a pretty cool place, and it comes very highly rated.

The Ghibli museum is a shrine to the Studio Ghilbi owned by Hayao Miyazaki, who is considered to be the Japanese Walt Disney. The studio created Panyo.

Anyways it should be very interesting and I'm happy to be able to get tickets to it.

WOW! Is it normal to buy tickets for the Ghibli in advance?
And you do know that FC offer a price match (I think less $1) plus a $20 voucher for any identical quote you get lower than their quote? Some of the other Aussies have this down to a fine art....

Here, here, here! here for the long haul! So excited you are back!

Yayyy! just like old times :)

Well I heard its good to buy them in advance because apparently they only sell so many tickets a day and they can sell out. We had a spacific day we wanted them for so we just got them booked! :) It was only $15/pp and one $15 booking fee... so pretty cheap!

I did know about the FC vouchers! We actually got one when we booked our flights to Japan with them. We found flights on Jetstar for 500 bucks, so FC matched our price and gave us vouchers! We have found a really great agent and have booked some other trips with her as well! They are great down here! The FC back home in Canada are horrible.

I'll join in as a DL expert, i've been following PrincessInOZ for a while and we are old friends (well I'm the newest) on the ladies who are last in posting, so if I can help out with any questions, I'd be happy to. I live within 30 min of the DLR and hopefully can answer questions as we are DVC members and stay at the VGC often.

Hi there! I'm subscribing! I'll be back to read - I want to see more TDL, and DL is my first love of Disney, and we go almost every year - I would love to see it through your eyes!:3dglasses

Ok so my prac got super busy and I didn't do much planning for my Tokyo Trip... and that scared me! But we have gone to Tokyo and come back a couple days ago, and we had an AMAZING time!! Sometimes its good to just go with the flow I suppose! Right now I'm on a 3 month break from school now, so I have started my Trip Report and the link is in my signature if anyone is interested in reading it (which I hope you all do!)

I will continue with my Disneyland planning on this PTR as the time gets closer :goodvibes
