Two days smoke free !!

Dangler, WTG!! You are half-way through the worst part!!! Awesome. :cool1: :thumbsup2

Ok so I was having a little attack and didn't want to smoke but had no gum, etc. So I decide to do a run for Timmie's figuring a coffee and a brownie will do the trick right? :rotfl2: All those good feelings from that chocolate. I don't do the brownie thing often but it was a special occasion.

So after going to both Timmie's by my house in search of that brownie, I finally got one, only to get home and find a NANIAMO BAR in my bag. Not the same thing as a brownie. So now I am in a really miserable mood, I was so mad I called and asked the girl, how does Brownie and Nanaimo Bar sound the same?? She said someone else pointed to the NB instead of the brownie. I am feeling better now I guess the chocolate did its work, that was a stressful half hour and I have a whole carton sitting right behind me.

Yes I know the chocolate is not a good thing, but I was really really wanting a cigarette...:guilty: and I was really GROUCHY but you guys cheered me up.

Thanks :grouphug:

I did this last night!! Thanks

Geez I don't know what I would do if I won the car. :worship:

Whoo hoo!! 4 days down.

If you need to report a buddy at some point, you can tell them the whole Canadian disboard is with you on this!!!:rotfl2: We're heading to WDW early Wed AM, so you won't hear from me after Mon/Tues. Keep at it!!:thumbsup2

Here is some incentive for you. Put all the money you would have spent on cigarettes in a separate account of safe place, and in no time you will have enough saved for another trip to Disney :lovestruc

You will be amazed at how much you will save!

Well at about $10/carton a month from the reserve, the 60.00 I spent on the Champix should pay for itself. lol But I am worth the 60.00 last week and the 60.00 I will spend next week. :rotfl:

So maybe in a year, I could save enough for our plane tickets to WDW!!!

Take it one day at a time. One hour at a time if you have to! I have to admit that I haven't had a cigarette in 30 years but every now and then there is some trigger, it can be a scent of someone lighting up or a situation, that still causes me to want to have one. Just think of all the hard work you have put into being smoke free so far and just don't reach for that first one. A friend told me that when she was really feeling like she could cave in she would go brush her teeth and then find something to do to take her mind off of it. I chewed a lot of gum. My dad kept an unopened package of cigarettes in his shirt pocket like he had done for 40 years. Whenever someone asked if he had quit he would tap the pack and say, "I'm just not smoking right now". It was like a test to see if he could get through the day without opening the pack. When 5 years worth of days had passed, he threw the package out. He had passed the test!

OK WOW that is willpower. I will admit I have a whole carton minus about 10 cigs right behind me right now. :scared1:

I will also admit that the reason I took Champix over the patch is because I knew that with Champix if I had a cigarette it would not kill me like if I had the patch on. But Champix worked better than the patch.

Yeah I have been doing the gum thing, the gummy bear thing, the licorice thing, the water thing, basically ANYTHING :rotfl: I will worry about the weight once I get past this...:rolleyes1
I have quit before, and I have lost weight before, I can do it again.... :goodvibes

Thanks Guys...I went to work today and told the docs I hadn't smoked in 4 days and they didn't believe me at first cause I've been saying Im quitting for 3 years. And told them how good this stuff works.

I check here everyday, especially when I want a cigarette. :goodvibes :goodvibes

AWESOME!

I smoked for 17 years and quit 11 years ago.

I don't crave ciggies, but I still enjoy the smell of them when my friends smoke.

CONGRATS! Sandra

I missed this post before Sandra, that is awesome.

When I quit for the 6 yrs I would have a few (or lots) if I was out for the night and then not have another for 6 months or a year. Till I bought that pack.

The docs today said I was trying to quit, and I told them I DID QUIT, I AM NOT A SMOKER ANYMORE!! ;)

Stephanie

Thanks guys!!!!:thumbsup2

Congrats Stephanie, it is kinda fun to be a non-smoker! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

I told my son today I need a sticker chart! lol

I should get myself a ticker!!

You know, one of the things that helped me when I was quitting was to put money in a jar everyday...this signified what I *would* have spent on smokes....boy, does it add up fast!! After a couple of months, I took it out & spent it mostly on some new clothes & some fun stuff with my family.

Good luck & keep up the fight!! It will get easier!!

Keep up the good work, brighteyes.

If this is something you truly want to accomplish you can do it. If it gets difficult, just keep reminding yourself of the health and financial benefits for yourself and your loved ones.

Good luck.

Yesterday and today I seem to be thinking about it ALOT. But I still haven't done it. I just want to have just a puff, but won't because I know I will have to start all over.

I know in another week I won't be thinking about it hardly at all.

Even though the meds cost alot more than the cigarettes I am putting the money away that I would have spent on the cigarettes.

I did this once, and I can do it again. I know I can, I know I can....lol:grouphug:
