We live close to WDW and my dad wants to take the kids to Diney this Sunday - two days before Christmas! I'm really worried about the crowds at this time of year -I do not possibly see how this could be fun. My husband is even worried about him taking them alone and insists I go with them...I'm just so not up to it. How bad is it going to be? I know most of you here adore Disney and I like it fine but, to be honest, I grew up here and just know it can be great and it can, quite honestly, be a nightmare. I remember once seeing a report of the average number of people in a park by day of the year and a lot of other stats like that but I can't find that now. Anyone know the site I'm thinking of? Thanks.

I would say go, and have as much fun as possible. It will be busy. Just don't set any expectations. Whatever you do is what gets done. Just embody the Christmas spirit and have a ball!

This is a great day to go, the crowds are light until Christmas day. We were there the Sat. and Sun. before christmas last year (Christmas eve was Sun.) it was still light compared to Christmas day and beyond. The decorations are great and it is just great to be in Disney at this time of the year. Just enjoy!! :santa:

MY wife and I are annual passholders and fly down pretty much anytime that we have a few days free. It doesn't really matter if there are huge crowds, or not. As long as you bring an attitude that you are going to have fun, you will. So what if we get stuck in a long line. That just gives us a few minutes more to talk, people watch, and examine the theming.

The one thing that's great about going when the parks are very busy is that most of the attractions and restaurants are open.

We tend to go counter-clockwise around the MK. For some reason, the first thing that I have to do as I hit Adventureland is grab a taco at El Pirata Y el Perico. (I have no idea why.) Unfortunately, this restaurant (like the awesome Egg Roll Wagon and Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station) is only open seasonally. Therefore, I miss out on them when we go during 'off-peak' times.
