We have booked our trip for September. Our plan is 1 day at Animal Kingdom and 2 days at Magic Kingdom.

I am looking for advice on how to split the Magic Kingdom in to two days. We want to enjoy ourselves and not feel rushed. I thought about doing Tomorrowland and Fantasyland on one day and the rest of the park the second day. Is that too lopsided? It seems like there are a lot of 3 year old friendly rides in Fantasyland.

My son is currently 36" (he's small, yes). Not sure how much more he'll grow by September. He's a daredevil, so most things don't frighten him.

Any and all advice is appreciated!

That's my plan for splitting mk into 2 days. I figured it probably won't take a full day to do the rest of the park, so we can redo favorites in fantasyland if we have more time.

Fortunately his height rules out many of the heavy crowd attractions like Space, BTMRR, Splash. Unfortunately it also rules out 7DMT for now, unless he grows 2 inches by September, which is certainly possible.

With 2 days your plan is good. You may want to focus on a lot of characters since the big attractions are off the table, that will save you a lot of time you can distribute to M&Gs.

We were just there in December with a 2 & 7 year old. We spent 2 days ago MK and did what you are suggestion, without really planning it. Day 1 was fantasy land & tomorrowland with the most focus on fantasyland. We did character meets and rides for the little DD. My oldest and DH split off for some bigger rides when we came back for the Christmas party.

Day 2 we went through the rest. We split up so there wasn't extra waiting for either DD. I found less to do for the little DD on day 2 but she still was entertained. We did go back into fantasyland on day 2 for our fp on SDMT.

Have fun!

When my youngest was 3 we went for the first time and I had looked up the Touring Plan suggestions. (Now you can subscribe online). What worked well was:

Go right to Fantasyland at Rope Drop. Did Peter Pan first I believe then the others according to plan.

We went back to the hotel everyday for nap time, this was key!

I have a TR from that time I will try to add to my signature for more detail, but the one thing that stands out 10 years later is the two things we did wrong.

1. Ignored the advice of doing Dumbo first ( this was back in the day of one Dumbo ride and cost me big time in terms of time and being stuck in line in the sun later in the week not to mention hearing "I want to ride Dumbo" no matter what park we were entering.) today this might be fine due to the two rides and the air conditioned waiting area.

2. She wanted to meet Minnie Mouse and there was always a line so we kept skipping. Finally had to just do it. This went for all characters, make sure you know which ones are must dos and plan accordingly. Highly recommend character breakfasts. Great way to get quality time. Also might want to FP some as this will be high on the priority list. ,

Overall great fun with little ones. I am so excited to see WDW through my 3 yo niece's eyes ( as well as the nieces who are 5,6,9 and nephew 8 whol will be going for the first time this summer).

Thanks all. I figured any leftover time on the second day would be used to repeat anything he really loved! I have a touring plans account, but could not find a custom option for 2-days in one park. I may just select the rides based on the "land" for each day and go from there. We're staying at French Quarter so I figured we could end the day a little early and let him play on the new water playground :)

What are the recommended fast passes, skipping things like the big rides obviously??

We may skip character meals because we live in Florida and we've stayed on property a couple times with him in the past year and done character meals, just never taken him in any of the parks yet. We also just stayed at the Vero resort for a couple of nights last month and did those character meals. We also just did a Disney cruise in January too, lol

As far as fastpasses ( if you aren't trying to get any of the mountains), I would say Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh and Dumbo.
