Ohhhh very pretty!!!!! Loved the curled one!

This may be a dumb question but what is pomade?

Ha ha. Not a dumb question. I can only tell you what I use it for! It's like a creme equivalent of gel or something. It helps hold your hair in place, smooth it down, and spike it, if you want. :)

Thanks! I like the curly style too!

I think it is cute, even if it isn't exactly what you pictured!

My stylist always tells me what my hair can and can't do when I bring in a picture; it used to make me so frustrated, but now I know just to listen to her because she knows what she is talking about. When you're back in DFW if you want the most amazing woman ever to do your hair, you just let me know! I've sent so many of my friends to my lady and now none of them will go to anyone else. She is WONDERFUL!!!

I may take you up on that! I actually have a stylist that has been cutting my hair forever (until I moved away) down in DFW, but I have no idea what she is even doing now!

Honestly, I think your hair looks great!:thumbsup2 Even if it wasn't what you were expecting... it really IS pretty.princess:

I don't know if you watch friends, but there's an episode where Phoebe is cutting Monica's hair. Monica says she wants it to look like Demi Moore's but Phoebe thinks she means Dudley Moore... and she ends up with this horrendous hair cut... that is totally how I was picturing your hair before.:rotfl2:

But seriously, it's really nice. Your hair is so shiny! It looks really healthy too.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I am pretty sure I can quote every single episode of FRIENDS ever. My sis and I text each other at all hours of the night and day with FRIENDS quotes. It's become a game for us to see who can get tapped out the quickest. Sometimes she catches me off guard and I have to use my old standard (Ugly baby judges you!). But, no, thankfully my hair does not look like Monica's did in that episode. Eeeeshk! Thanks for the compliment. I rarely complain about my hair itself until it gets too long, and still even then I am just complaining about the style.

I really like your hair cut.

The one thing that I wonder is, did she use thinning sheers on your hair? We do have similar hair. I can see it. I think that you are reacting to the look that your hair is a bit heavier looking than the girl in the picture. It looks like it's a good cut, it actually looks like a good length, but it looks like it needs to be thinned.

My hairdresser (I go to my Mom's who has the same hair as me if not worse, and yes, I FLY to Scottsdale and get my haircut there when I DO get it cut.:rolleyes1 which is only about once or twice a year.:scared1: ) says that for our hair type, the difference between a good cut and a GREAT cut is the thinning. It just lets the hair cut show through a bit more.

You want someone who knows what they are doing and are familiar with doing the thinning sheers, but from experience, I can tell you, it makes a huge difference. I think it just looks a bit heavy still and not as fly away free and having a much movement as you would like it to be. It's possible to achieve, even with heavy thick hair, you just need a hair dresser that can take a little bit of the weight out.

AND I think you need to play with it a bit. Have a splurge at Target (always a treat for me:laughing: ), get some product and have some fun with you new do.

I took your advice and had fun at Target! Since I never use products, it was quite an education for me!! And she did not use thinning sheers on me, which surprised me last night. It always needs to be thinned a little, just because it does get so heavy. I bet you're right, that is what was bothering me so much, that it still felt so thick and heavy and I wasn't expecting it to. Oh well...at least I have discovered a few different ways I can style it now. :)

:cheer2: Styling products to the rescue!!! :cheer2:

Your hair is soooooooo cute! I love it! It's great that you've already discovered a bunch of ways that you can wear it too!

My hair is thick and wavy naturally so when I cut it short like yours it has a tendency of getting even thicker and frizzier. :headache: I usually end up spending more time styling it short than I do when its long so I've been growing it out for forever. I know what you mean about wanting a "wash n go" cut. That would be SO nice. If only my hair weren't so stubborn....

Anyways, glad everything turned out okay! Take that fabulous hair, and work it out! :cool1:

I love your different styles! SO cute! And it looks like you got some good styling products.

I use different ones for how I'm wearing my hair.

Straight: Biosilk (This stuff is incredible! It makes your hair so smooth and soft...but only use a tiny bit) and Garnier wax (a little on the ends)

Diffused Curly: Aussie Mousse and Sprunch Spray (I apply before I diffuse and add more SS half-way through the diffuse)

Curled: Some kind of Gel (I don't remember the name) and blow-dry before bed and sleep with it braided (THANKS SOLEIL!) and then I curl it and use Aussie Hair Spray

So if you're ever in need of some other products, you might give some of them a try. But it looks like you've got some good ones! :)

All your different styles came out lovely! I think you are well on the way to liking your new haircut!

Thank you! I am actually enjoying it now. I still feel like it is a bit heavy, but there is no cringing when I pass a mirror.

Thank you very much! Yeah, my hair is straight as sticks, so I lucked out in that arena. I used to be a believer in wash-n-go cuts, but for some reason it just isn't working out for me anymore. One thing I did discover about this style is that it does still go in my ponytail for working out, which is nice. I always worry about that right after I cut my hair.

Ooooh all the different hairstyles look great on you! :goodvibes

Thank you!!

Oh, thanks for the tips! I am enjoying the ones I am using right now. I used to use Aussie hairspray. I always remember that grape smell when I think of it.

I love all your hair sylin! They look so good on you!:goodvibes

Thank you! It took a while, but it was actually pretty fun to sit and play with it. A very girly night!

I love the curls!! Love, love, love curls! So pretty and feminine!

Thanks! I think that I want to get a curling iron with a little smaller barrel, so that I can make the curls a little tighter, but I was really liking the curls. :)

Hi Tarah! Glad you made it! Thanks for the compliments on my new 'do. I am getting used to it slowly.
Wow, you sure do have moving experience. My moving experience is pretty much to Oklahoma, then here.....ha. I :worship: to any tips you have! I don't handle my house being taken apart, so it's stressing me out....
But I'll live. My Mom will be here in 2 WEEKS to help, and then two days later we will be leaving!! :thumbsup2

I'm glad that you figured out new styles for your haircut. They all look really cute and I love the fancy hair. :thumbsup2 You are inspiring me to try to do something different with mine at some point.

All my moves were family, school, or job related. I have 2 different moving methods that I have used...

Method 1: Pack everything in boxes. Don't even worry about what youre packing, what goes in what box, etc. Then, when you get where you're going and start to unpack is when you sort, toss out, organize, etc. Although this method is not greatly approved by everyone - it can certainly help with the pre-move stress. ;) When I did this I used laundry baskets and trash bags to help me sort and organize. One basket for kitchen, one for bedroom, one for living room, and trash bags for garbage. If the post-move sorting does not concern a person, this method is not too shabby. I found that the post-move sorting largely reduced my stress.. it was very calming to sit down and sort once I was there. I don't know why. If you are the type to procrastinate the unpacking, I do not recommend this.

Method 2: Label it all. Sort it all. Keep it organized. Toss what you don't want, etc. Do it all before you move. Why would a person spend the time and money to move trash right? Throw it out. If you havent worn it, if its been under the cabinet, in the bottom of the closet, tucked away in a box, etc then clearly you don't need it. If it's something you have lived without then why take it with you? Doing all this AMAZINGLY reduces what you will have to do once you get where you're going. This method however stresses me out. It is a lot of work before the move. If you have the time pre-move to tackle this though, it may be well worth it. I am not good at this because I get distracted very easily. :goodvibes

I apologize if that was of no help to you. :confused3 Perhaps if nothing else, interesting to read the crazy moving methods of others?

I don't really think theres the best way to move or any great moving tips. I think it just depends upon the person and their stuff. I hope it doesnt get too crazy and stressful for you!

Lol thanks for answering my question! I had never heard or used that before. :goodvibes I may need to go pick up some.

Hi Courtney and Kelly! I'm finally caught up :yay: !! I think it's great that y'all are doing a girls only trip! I just think y'all are a little crazy doing it right after a BIG move and a wedding! I'm sure that will make it that much more better!

I can't believe it took so long to get the planning DVD. I ordered mine and I think it came in that week!! Pretty crazy.

So have y'all decided to fly or drive yet? We're going to drive, but I think you'd still be about 8 hours behind us and that just seems like too long to be in a car!

I do like your haircut Courtney! I wouldn't have had the patience to sit there and try different styles. All I ever really do is just straighten my hair and pull some pieces up. Maybe I should splurge and give it a try?

Hello! I just found your TR and I am working on getting all caught up. But I just wanted to say I love it so far, and your hair looks really cute :goodvibes

Ha ha! Thanks! Glad my neurosis about my hair can help someone!! :rotfl:

I think I am pretty much using your second method. Which is giving me a huge :headache: . But I'll live. I have a lot that I am planning on getting done this weekend. I am packing up all my plates/dishware this weekend, so I went and got paper products to use for the next few weeks or so. It's slowly coming together. Although I must say, I got up this morning and was going to start working again, and I got up, stood in the middle of the living room, and literally did not even know what to do. I want to be cleaning the mess that is all of the packing stuff. I need to be packing with the packing stuff. So, I gave up and decided to check out the Dis.

Hey!! Glad you made it over. And guess what? I still don't have my planning dvd. Yeah, I gave up on that. I'll try to order a new one once I've moved. We are probably a bit crazy planning this Disney trip right after all the other stuff we have going on, but we figure we will be due a nice vacation once all the stressful things are over (wedding planning, moving, job-hunting....). Right now we are planning on flying. It gives us more time at WDW without having to take any more time off of work. But it is all probably going to depend on what, if any kind of discounts are available in December....

Thanks! I'm glad that you like my hair. I've gotten a handle on it now, and it's pretty nice. It did take like 3 hours in front of the mirror to figure out all the different styles. But it was pretty fun...very girly! But I just have to take this moment to complain! SOMEONE *ahem* who shall remain nameless decided to say that he didn't like the curls. After he listened to my rant, which was even longer than the one I expressed here on the Dis, he decides to tell me that he "isn't really a fan." Do THEY ever learn? :headache: If he'd been within range, he might have gotton a faceful of hairspray.

Hello! I just found your TR and I am working on getting all caught up. But I just wanted to say I love it so far, and your hair looks really cute :goodvibes

Hey Lauren!! Glad you made it over! And thanks! The style is growing on me! :)
