Two Castles and a Polynesian Dream (A Wedding & a Disneymoon) Update*Mr & Mrs*

Stefy,
Your baking looks fantastic and very professional. The cake looks super moist and the filling mmmm, yum. Your cupcake are so sweet with the little chocolate egggs on top, and the cookies nicely done. You obviously have a knack for baking. I love sweets and bake usually once of twice a week, nothing as fancy as you did. I like to make banana cake, or brown sugar and cinnamon cake.

As far as staying at a Disney resort that first night, great thinking. Taxis are very expensive, I think, in Orlando.

I am going to vote to eat at DTD, don't know why but that is my vote.

And you will have to visit New Orleans one day it is very beautiful and has made great strides since Katrina. The drink of choice is a Hurricane, they are very strong.
Other interesting and very pretty southern cities are Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. Atlanta where I live is pretty but most of it got burned down by Sherman during the Civil War, as some southerners still call it The War of the Northern Agression. Savannah was spared and is very beautiful. Have you ever read or watched the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" it is a based on a true story that took place in Savannah and was filmed in Savannah. Have a Great Week!

Yummy cupcakes and cookies!!!

I vote take the boat to DTD so many more options for dinner, it is just a lovely romantic ride. We stayed at POFQ on our honeymoon and it's a quiet and small resort and the boat is great.

Hi Stefy,

Love your choice for 'cruise eve' Disney resort! I've not stayed at any of the moderates before but I think French Quarter would be the first one I'd pick :thumbsup2

Have you been to Paradiso 37? That's a fun place for dinner if you do decide to go to DTD - might not need an ADR either as it's a pretty big place :goodvibes

Hope you're enjoying this extra long bank holiday weekend!!

Hi Stefy! Hope you are enjoying the long weekend.

I think staying on site before you depart for your cruise is a great idea, esp with saving on taxis to and from an off site hotel! :thumbsup2 Food wise my vote goes to eating at DTD - it just feels like a natural first day meal. However, am guessing you will be visiting DTD when you return from your cruise so if you want to eat at Sassagoula go for it! ;)

Wow at baking three whole days in a row! Love the butterscotch cake - it looks delish as do the Easter cupcakes and cookies! popcorn:: I like the decorations on the cupcakes and the way you have personalised the cookies. They turned out very nicely, especially for a first attempt! :cheer2:

Yay for POFQ! We will be staying there as well, maybe we can meet up that night at the resort, OR if you go to DTD for dinner? I think we are eating at DTD that day as it is our quest day!

Great looking treats!

Thanks :) Baking was fun and I getting really into cooking now, as is Dave. I just made some more cupcakes, leaving them to cool before making the icing. Forgot yet again to buy a nozzle for my piping bags :headache:

How far are you from New Orleans? I want to travel everywhere and the Southern States are very appealing, will have to look up Savannah and Charleston. Love anywhere with a bit of history :)

Yummy cupcakes and cookies!!!

Thanks :) DTD does have more options true. So excited to stay at POFQ, (although we haven't booked it as of yet) such a pretty resort :)

Thanks :) Am excited to try out POFQ, should make for a lovely night before cruisin' Can't wait to get my beads too :teeth:

I have heard of Paradiso 37, have you eaten there before?

Loving the bank holiday weekend, although this one has gone by more faster than last weeks :( Hope you are enjoying yours too :)

Thanks :) It does feel like the natural choice for DTD, esp if we can stop by Goof's for some yummy treats :teeth:

Three days in a row was a bit much, missed out on the sunshine, but I had so much fun :)

Hope you are enjoying the bank holiday too :) Next one won't be til end of this month, but am sure that will come around fast :teeth:

Great looking treats!

Thanks :) Oh yeah you are staying at POFQ too, cool :teeth: Our paths may cross which would be nice :)

So having thought about what to do on arrival day for dinner, I think we will play it by ear. We don't land til 5pm and most prob won't make it to the resort until around 8pm so however we are feeling we may eat at Sassagoula or if don't feel too tired go to DTD. But thinking more on it, Sassagoula might be the overall winner :)

These days its getting harder and harder for me to have a lay in so what I usually tend to do is look on my phone at Twitter etc and then try and doze off after that. Well yesterday morning the same thing happened and on to Twitter I went where I saw a Tweet that the MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets were on sale from Midnight May 1st :yay: So excited I turned on the laptop and bought our tickets for September 23rd. So we're all set for tickets now which should be arriving by post some time soon.

Yay for POFQ! It looks like such a beautiful resort, I'd love to stay there someday! I'd take the boat to DTD for dinner, there are so many yummy places to pick from there! :cool1:

Mmmm, your cakes and cookies look so great! :thumbsup2

I'm so excited they finally released the dates of MNSSHP! I will probably buy our tickets soon, I just have to make sure I'm positive of the exact dates we are going!

Ooh yes book your tickets when you can, such a great party :)

Hi Stefy!

Hooray for POFQ!!:cool1: This was the first resort that DH and I stayed at! We really loved the atmosphere and overall feel of the resort. Sadly, I haven't been back.:sad2: If you aren't too tired, I would imagine getting something to eat at DTD would be a better choice, but honestly, you should be able to find something to suit you and Dave just fine in Sassagoula.

Great job with all the baking!:thumbsup2 Those cupcakes look scrumptious!! I'm glad you had a great time baking it all. Now, did you enjoy eating it as well?

I'm sooo excited for the announcement of MNSSHP tickets!!! I only found out this morning so I'm hoping that our day's tickets are still available. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Congrats on getting yours!

I love Port Orleans! I prefer Riverside, but I love the theming of both! Your goodies look Yummy!!!!!!! And YUMMY BBQ! I have yet to fire up the grill this year!

Excellent updates Stef!! Good choice with POFQ! And omg, those desserts look delish! Good job! :thumbsup2

Wow! What a baker my British friend is! :thumbsup2 Great work, well done!

Congrats on POFQ! It's a cute resort! We prefer POR (I love the mansion houses!) but we always walk over to FQ!
To be honest, I would either stay at FQ or walk over to Riverside on your first night - the ferry tends to get crowded lateron in the day - no fun being stuck at DTD when you are tired ........

Riverside has those yummy Magic Cookie Bars, if you feel like one! ;)

Thanks :) I feel like I'm leaning towards staying at the resort, its what we tend to do anyway whenever we go to Disney. But like I say you never know what you'll feel like til you get there :)

I did enjoy some of my baking, but not too much wanna fit in my dress and all ;) I tend to bake have a couple and then share the rest out really :)

Have you got your tickets yet? Fingers and toes are crossed for you :)

Thanks :) Love BBQ's so simple and also a slightly healthier alternative to cooking too :)

Thanks :) What do you think of the ones I baked yesterday (see below)?

So these are my baking efforts from yesterday, nothing fancy pants just your regular cupcakes. Love making these, so simple but next time I need to double the ingredients so I can make more.

Tell me about the boards being super slow in the morning! :sad2: :rotfl2:

Lovely cupcakes! I think I need to get baking myself again, but things have been a bit hectic here lately! ;)

I wonder if its because its the wee hours of the morning in the US and they take that time to update the server or something. Oh well.

Hope things aren't too hectic and hopefully you can get some baking in :)
