Hello everyone! For those following over from my PTR, welcome back! For any new readers, WELCOME!! I have mostly been a Disboards lurker but earlier this year I got up the courage to write my very first PTR which you can read here (Two Castles in 24 Hours...Bring it On! A Sept 2013 PTR) if you would like all the details on how this trip came to be plus a mini TR from doing the WDW Marathon in January.

If you just wanna jump right in to our big DL/WDW trip...here we go!!!

Hi there, I’m Krista.

f67fa248-b950-4776-84e4-18ab33eeac63_zpsdd2f5c95.jpg

I am 32, a marketing manager for a property management firm and have lived in Southern California all of my life. I’ve never lived more than 30 minutes away from Disneyland but surprisingly, we never went much growing up. The occasional trip with my parents and then a few trips in High School. It wasn’t until I started dating my now amazing husband that I got my first Annual Pass (April 29th, 2006 - just one week after our first date...Disney love at first sight). Disneyland became our happy place and we have had many a Disney Date night together. We even had the amazing pleasure of being married at the Disneyland Hotel Rose Garden (my absolute dream and honestly a venue that I never thought would be in our cards) and our reception at the Grand Californian.

Although I have many favorites memories with DH of Disneyland, one of my all time favorite memories stems from when I was 9 or 10 and my Uncle was watching my DB and I for a long weekend. One of the days turned out to be a Disneyland day with one of our meals being at the old Tahitian Terrace (it was a Polynesian dinner show inside of Adventureland - for those who have been to Disneyland it’s where the Aladdin meet and greet is now). Well, my Uncle, no thanks to DB and I, had the “pleasure” of dancing up on stage in a coconut bra and hula skirt. Unluckily for us (and luckily for him) the film in the camera from that day somehow got damaged, I still call conspiracy, and we were never left with photographic evidence of his 15 minutes of fame. 20+ years later and we still razz him for it.

My favorites at Disneyland would be Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Small World Holiday and Radiator Springs Racers. For Disney World favorites would include Expedition Everest, Haunted Mansion, Test Track, People Mover and Tower of Terror.

My counterpart in this tale and my amazing husband of over 5 years is Brian (or B).

He is also 32 and works as a network field technician for an IT company. We grew up about 15 minutes away from each other but our paths never truly crossed until we met for our first date. One of the things I love most about him is that he is a big kid who never truly grew up. He is an avid comic book collector (especially Walking Dead, Chew and Batman), still loves Legos and of course video games (me not so much...Lego Lord of the Rings is about my speed). On our last trip in January he made the leap to pin trading for the very first time and well, is hooked and on a mission to find an orange WDW Flag cast member pin (which, still eludes him).

B's favorites at Disneyland are Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours, Indy and Pirates. His favorites at Walt Disney World are the People Mover, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Test Track, Tower of Terror, Indy Stunt Show & Expedition Everest.

We do not have any children but do have two super cute fuzzy bunnies.

Lucky, who someone let go in my parent’s neighborhood when she was less than 6 months old and has been in our lives now for 4 years and Snowflake, who is our special needs shelter rescue who recently turned 3 and who has enriched our lives for almost 2 years now.

For those who haven't read the PTR, this trip was never on our radar for 2013. Over 3 year ago, I started running with my DSIL which eventually led to my first Disneyland 1/2 marathon in 2011. The draw of a special 20th Anniversary medal for the 2013 WDW Marathon gave me the courage to make the leap to training for a full marathon in 2012 (which perfectly coincided with the 1/2 training plan for the 2012 Disneyland 1/2 Marathon).

Our January trip to the World was short - we arrived midday Friday and left for home early afternoon Tuesday. The reason we were there was the Marathon, a WDW vacation in January had not been in our grand scheme of things. We barely did any park touring (before because I didn’t want to overdue it and after because I was nursing blisters and a nasty heat rash...thank you Florida for the record breaking heat and humidity). But, even with the heat, I did it, I finished my very first marathon ever. Took me about an hour + longer than I had been training at because of the heat but I finished it in 6 hours, 59 minutes and 56 seconds...talk about timing!

0298b01d-1a24-4a52-8af1-9bd6588a1076_zps77791d92.jpg

In my darkest miles during the marathon I was done with running and never wanted to do it again (yeah, that didn’t last) and decided that if I got swept or couldn’t finish the marathon there would be no reason for me to run Disneyland in August because there would be no Coast to Coast medal. Our 5 year wedding anniversary was August 30th and what better way to spend it then to just take off and go back to Disney World, a repeat of our honeymoon. At some point after the marathon I told B about my negative train of thoughts and boy did it get him thinking. Suddenly talk started swirling about, well, why don’t we come back in September? The guy who wasn’t even sure he wanted to do a trip in December 2014 was now talking about “When we come back in September”. It helped that we had been given a bounce back offer of 35% off a room stay when we checked in (something we had not gotten on previous trips) and on the morning we were supposed to be leaving for home, we were now booked to come back September 2nd through the 10th at our all time favorite resort, Wilderness Lodge.

Well as the months ticked by our plan slowly evolved and we added on not only a day to our trip but a whole new resort too! No longer were we just staying at WL, we started the first 3 nights club level at the Polynesian (also got an awesome room only discount) and then the last 5 nights club level at WL, coming home on the 11th instead so we could hit up the very first MNSSHP!!! :woohoo:

So without further ado, let’s get this trip report rolling with the first of the two castles...

Day 1 - We're Sorry, Your Florida Vacation is in Another Castle

Friday - August 30th

The day started off very early like it had all week with a 5am wake up. Work had (and continues to be crazy) so my stress level leading up to the vacation was up around an 11. As much as I would have loved to have started vacation with a full day off on Friday, it just wasn’t gonna happen. My plan had been to only work until 9am but I knew that it was going to be a slim pipe dream. For a treat, B was going to be spending the few hours at work with me since the hotel we were staying at only allowed one car and it was going to be quite out of the way to drive back to my parents to get him after work. Being up at 5am all week had started to take its toll and for all of my organizing I forgot my change of clothes at home. B, being the super awesome husband he is ran back to my parents to get them after dropping me off at work. He made it back around 8:30 and for all of my trying I wasn’t able to get out at 9am but by 9:45am felt like I had a handle on everything and vacation could officially start!

With Dumbo being an inaugural race I knew that trying to get merchandise for it was going to Mission: Impossible. Yeah, Mission: Impossible would have been a cake walk compared to the chaos that was this year’s expo. We got to the resort a little before 10:15am and made our first mistake of trying to park in Downtown Disney. This took forever!!! When B had gotten close enough to the parking gates and it was a safe enough spot, I jumped out and made my way over to the Disneyland Hotel Convention Center, where the Expos are held. While I was expecting it to be crowded, what I was met with was line upon line, upon line, upon line.....and this was only 10:30am, a mere 30 minutes after the official opening on a work day no less! :scared1: Seriously it was hard to tell where the line for packet picket ended and the lines for the expo and then the official merchandise began (which no surprise, this one was the longest). I blame not taking a pictures at this point on shock and being way too hot for that early in the morning. Given the high temps, the humidity and almost all of the lines being in full sun (I hadn’t even thought to sunblock for this part of the morning), I jumped in the shortest of the lines, which turned out to be for the Expo. This actually turned out to be a great decision on my part because I did have a very important goal for the Expo....

B made his way over to me about 15 minutes later and I think he was just as shocked by the organized chaos. Parking in the DTD lots was totally nuts. Luckily for both of us, the line started moving quickly shortly after he found me and it was only a couple of minutes until we were in the sweet, glorious AC!!!! As we entered the Expo, we hit the literal wall of people waiting in line to get to the official merchandise and it was this point that I made peace with not getting anything official for Dumbo. Don’t get me wrong, it still frosts my cookies that the general public has access to this merchandise and registered runners, who paid A LOT of money to run get shafted. There was a guy with not one, but two duffel bags absolutely stuffed with Dumbo merchandise totaling over $1200! I can guarantee that its some of the stuff that showed up on Ebay shortly after everything opened. Disney did try to help make it right by putting up a couple of Dumbo Shirts and Coast to Coast shirts on the Disney store a couple weeks after the race but at that point for me, I was just over it. You would think after several years they would figure out how to run it a little better. Okay, vent over...

We decided to stay along the outer edge of the Expo as we came in and one of the very first things we passed was this gorgeous beauty.

Given that day was our 5th Wedding Anniversary and B and I got to ride in that same carriage for the ceremony it holds quite a bit of sentimental value for us and I won’t lie, there may have been some teariness going on with me. Passing the Disney Wedding’s booth, we hit Raw Threads, who make uber cute running apparel but more specifically uber cute Disney inspired shirts. After debating on a couple of tops, I settled on their version of a Coast to Coast shirt and a couple of cute bumper stickers. New shirt in hand, we went straight to my desired destination...Sparkle Skirts. I still needed bottoms to go with my costumed running shirts.

I know, procrastination - I blame it on the whole selling our condo, buying a new condo with a sprinkling of work being insane!! The booth was already mobbed with people. So much cute stuff, I seriously could have dropped our vacation budget just at this booth alone. I was able to get skirts for both of races, score!!! Second to Disney merchandise, the line to check out here was the second longest I had seen so far this morning.

JK, but it was long haha! Kudos to Sparkle Skirts!! I'll jump ahead slightly and say that this was my first time running in a Sparkle Skirt and I couldn't have been more impressed with the performance of both skirts. They were so SUPER comfortable and the shorts do not budge, which is a big deal. I know they are pricey but if you are a runner looking for adorable Disney inspired running bottoms, these are it! :thumbsup2

Skirts purchased, it was right around 11am and my tummy was getting grumbly - not eating breakfast was starting to turn me in to a Snicker’s commercial. :happytv: We passed the checkout line for the merchandise and it rivaled Space Mountain on a summer day. People literally ended up waiting 2+ hours just to check out! Craziness I tell you!! Wish I had gotten a picture - speaking of pictures, showing off the Dumbo pride!

We were also able to get a picture in front of the Castle they have setup within the expo with a very minimal wait.

Seeing the line for both photo ops later in the day, I am glad we stopped to do them when we did. Unfortunately, the packet pickup line was still insane - here’s to hoping it calmed down later in the evening otherwise my crazy nightmare about missing getting my packet was going to come to fruition!! We walked our way passed the still growing lines and back out to the parking lot and the general theme overheard by passerby was “where do the lines end”?!?!? :faint:

Surprisingly, they were still letting people in to the parking lot and there was some hardcore spot stalking going on. We had a nice gentlemen drive up to us as we were walking down a row and politely asked us if we were leaving and if he could have our spot. Of course polite gentleman, follow us - we’re parked right over there. Spreading some parking pixie dust haha!! We made our way out of the resort and back in to the real world to head over to our hotel for the weekend.

I'm in!

I also love Sparkle Skirts! I only have 1 so far but I'm definitely asking for Rapunzel for Christmas for the Princess Half in Feb!

The Princess Half will be my first Run Disney race, I'm super excited! And excited to hear about the Disneyland Half, I really want to go Coast to Coast!

Congrats on the marathon, that's an awesome accomplishment! I'd love to run one someday! So far I have 2 halfs under my belt, even though I have said many times I hate running during long training runs or races, I keep coming back haha! I know how you feel!

Yay, my first follower!! Thank you for following along!! The Rapunzel skirt is so cute. I will be doing Princess for the 1st time too this year and had soo much fun being dressed up at Disneyland, totally want to do it again for Princess. Have you seen the new Tiffany Skirt with the rhinestone embellishment - so pretty!

Thank you - I look back at it and still can't believe I did it. It's funny how long runs make you question why you are doing it and yet we keep coming back!! Congrats on doing your first RunDisney race - I hope you end up having a fantastic time. Just know it's super easy to get hooked on Running Disney!! :)

Following along! :)

:welcome: Happy to have you following along!!

Day 1 - Part 2: "That Would Have Never Happened at Disney World"

When messing with our WDW reservations, B and I decided that for basically the same cost of staying at the Grand Californian for Fri/Sat night we could upgrade WL to club level. The draw of club level was too great and we made the decision to stay at the Best Western Park Place Inn (a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel).

The location of the hotel ended up being awesome - it is directly across from the old Harbor Blvd entrance and the walk to the parks is super short.

It was only about noon when we checked in but our room was ready...double score!!! The hotel exterior isnt much to look at, very much the typical remodeled motor inns that encircle the resort but the room was very nice, big and updated.

We spent time cooling down and exchanging anniversary cards and presents with each other before finally heading to the parks, it was lunch time!!!

I swear, it got hotter in the few minutes we were in the room and the short walk was blistering and sticky. August can be hot but Friday was insane. Bag check took quite a bit longer than normal but before we knew it, we were here!

ebac362a-fe7d-4807-b85d-01eeba6ce426_zpsdb165266.jpg

We made our way in to Disneyland with our first stop being City Hall to pick up our oh so important Anniversary buttons!

For it still being summer and both Labor Day Weekend and 1/2 Marathon Weekend, the park was pretty quiet!!

0d269d2b-21f0-45aa-9c9e-9fc4aa913f86_zpsbcf28ef7.jpg

Our trip up Main Street was a short one because our lunch destination was Carnation Cafe! We were surprised to find the wait time was only about 15 minutes without an ADR. This was just enough time for me to head a little further up Main Street to redeem our Photopass+. We got seated outside at a quiet, shady table near the back of the patio - it was perfect!

Hunger got the best of me and I ended up ordering a vanilla milkshake to drink. So good, so cold but such a bad idea in the heat (duh, duh, duhhhh). B was smart and stuck with water.

For lunch, I got the turkey sandwich on a pretzel roll with fruit.

f221945b-b329-4c05-a309-3610882301c1_zps7a871164.jpg

B got their cheeseburger also with fruit. It was too hot for french fries!

61c536a0-c4ee-4b78-a5b5-d6f6a1507a18_zpscf4e3498.jpg

In true Carnation Cafe fashion, both of our meals were fantastic and get a 5 out of 5 stars!!

I was bummed when they took off my chicken croissant club after they redid the restaurant but the turkey sandwich helps make up for it! I love that pretzel rolls are the it thing right now! Bellies now full, we made our way up Main Street - it was time for castle pics!!

As we waited for our pictures, we got to chat with a group of ladies on their 1st trip to Disneyland (who were also there for Dumbo). Unfortunately, Disneyland wasnt really doing it for them and their Photopass session didnt really help. The Photopass photographer was awesome but man they had some doozies of photobombs! The worst was a woman dragging her kids right in front of them as the photographer was taking the picture. Either she was really that oblivious or she just didnt care. We all kind of stood there slack jawed and laughing awkwardly at what had just transpired. I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt and blame it on the heat! As they were walking away we heard one of the women comment "that would never happen at Disney World" which made B and I kind of laugh because we HAVE been photobombed at Disney World but never before when we have done Photopass for Disneyland!

The Photopass photographer took a ton of time with us for our pictures and would get people out from directly behind us. Which, we'd never had a photographer really care about who was in the background before. It was amusing because he was seriously having way too much fun.

The goal was to grab Fastpasses for Space and then ride Buzz Lightyear. The FP for Space were good 40 minutes from when we got them so we made our way back over to Buzz to find a very large line had now formed that hadnt been there a few minutes prior. It was right about this time that the heat and the milkshake sitting in my tummy started to get to me. I hate feeling queasy. B was overly hot too so we made the executive decision to relax back at the room and forgo Space. B had been up since 4:30am and me since 5am and it was catching up with us.

I have seen the new Tiffany skirt, its so pretty! I want it but being from the Northeast I won't get to wear it much til may so it doesn't seem worth it : ( I am trying to decide which other skirt to ask for for Xmas ans she might win out :thumbsup2

Another sparkle princess following along!

I haven't decided what I want to do for Princess yet - been debating between getting another skirt or getting the shorts and a Sparkle Lite skirt which kind of gives more options since the Sparkle Lites are easier on the bank account. :)

What a start to the trip! Wow, lines upon lines would be super stressful to me! And I 100% agree with you-- the Disney race gear should exclusively be for the runners. I don't think it's right that everyone gets a fair crack at it.
I think going back to your room after lunch was smart! No point in needlessly tiring yourselves out so early in your vacation.

I hope they are able to figure something out for future races - would make the total experience more enjoyable.

We love afternoon breaks - so rejuvenating! :)

Day 1 - Part 3: It's Bacon!!

Staying off property gave us the chance to bump in to this awesome little feat of creative genius (it's a solar powered trash compactor). Made me sad we didn't have anything to throw in to it!

Back at the room we cooled off and I flipped through our 25 TV channels while B dozed. I was lucky to catch the end of the Rocketeer on ABC Family...hooray for a Disney movie!!! Around 3:45 we were both back up and getting ready again, we had a very special meet up to get to this afternoon, plus I still needed to get my packet and head over to our dinner reservation at 6:30. With the hotel of our meet up plugged in to my phone we were off. The hotel, we thought, was only 10 minutes away but when we got there no one had any idea what we were talking about. Ruh Roh!!! Hopped on Facebook, looked up the hotel again and turns out that even though I picked the hotel by name when looking up the address Google obsessively kept sending us to the hotel we were currently at. It wasn't until I typed in the actual street address that we realized where we wanted to be was on the backside of the Mickey and Friends parking structure and would have been just up the street from where we were staying.

So where were we heading? To meet up with my running group I met through Facebook, Endurance Sports Connection.

They have started putting on the Bacon Challenge at various races including Dumbo this year. Talk about an amazing group of people and I am so glad to have met them for this race. I hope to catch up with them again in February for Princess weekend!! They had rented one of the ballrooms and it was piggied out to the max haha!

The swag bags they gave out to everyone were awesome! Disney could take a few notes from them, haha!! It was so much fun to see the piggy bags at the resort through out the weekend!

Piggy swag procured it was off to the next (and most important) stop. Packet pickup!!! We parked back at the hotel and walked over to the expo, getting there around 5:15. Boy was it quite the change from that morning. There were no lines anywhere but we heard many a passerby tell tales of surviving being at the expo early that morning. Guess I at least have that story to tell now too!! :thumbsup2

I was in and out of getting everything in less than 5 minutes. With time to kill, I had a chance to go back through the Expo, without the crowds, and check out what was left of the Official Merchandise. To my surprise, there was a Dumbo sweatshirt left but at $60, it was cute, just not THAT cute. At least I have the 3 tech shirts from the weekend that came with signing up for the races. :cool1:

Day 1 - Part 4: "This is the dinner of my LIFE"

Our dinner reservation for the evening was just a short stroll through the Disneyland Hotel and to Goofys Kitchen. The artwork throughout the hotel gives the rich history of the resort and is fantastic to just sit and check out.

Our section had just been visited by the characters so we got a chance to eat most of our meal before the character interactions. The food was tasty for a buffet and our waitress was fantastic. She came over quickly after we were seated and I was thrilled I was able to get pineapple juice as my drink with the meal.

The buffet itself is much smaller than Chef Mickey's but they have a great selection.

I realized as I was going through my pictures that I was eating in 3s tonight.

Day 1 - Part 5: Don't worry, I speak Disney

No meal at Goofy's would be complete without spending time with a few great friends. Minnie was the first to visit our table.

Overall, I would give Goofy's Kitchen 4 out of 5 stars. The food was tasty and its fun to be able to meet characters that you typically don't see together at a meal.

Ahh! I got so far behind! Your room looks great! I agree, the hotels aren't much on the outside, but usually the inside is decent. Last time we stayed at BW stovall's Inn and we liked it too.

Ahh, those race conventions are always so insane! Glad you checked it and made it to Carnation Cafe. We love it there!

Ugh, an early morning can make you feel a bit queasy all on it's own, don't blame the milkshake, haha.

I love all of the pig themed things from your running group, so cute. Glad to hear the race pickup went smoothly.

Haha, virgin lapu lapu! I've never been to Goofy's Kitchen, it has such a good group of random characters! I love PB&J pizza.

Yeah, we were happy with the Park Place. The only gripe I have is that the parking only allows for 1 car but that was the only negative we had.

We've always loved Carnation. Haven't been there for breakfast since they took off the cinammon roll french toast but finally tried the deep fried pickles a couple weeks ago and omgosh they were so good!!

We have only been to Goofy's for dinner, one of these days we will try breakfast but the random characters were definitely a treat!

Day 1 - Part 6: Under Da Sea

With dinner finished, we made our way back through to the hotel and out to Downtown Disney.

The night wouldnt be complete without at least a stop at California Adventure, we hadnt even ridden anything yet today, that wasnt going to work!! I needed to get something for breakfast before the 10k in the morning so we headed in to the Grand California.

Surprisingly, they didnt have any runner boxes like they had for the Disney World marathon so I ended with an apple. One of the benefits to the Grand Californian is entrance directly to DCA and with the exception of the morning, they typically allow anyone with tickets through - so we were able to easily head in. We made our way through the Grizzly River area, we knew exactly where to go for a ride with no wait.

The show building is definitely not much to look at (although it does fit in with the theme of the area) and our wait times are always minimal at best. I could never understand how ginormous the wait times are at Magic Kingdom for a near identical ride.

We made our way to the front of the park with a couple of Photopass stops along the way. I had a another early morning to look forward to.

While it hadnt been anywhere close to what I had envisioned for our first day, we still had a great time. Our grand plans to watch Fantasmic and the fireworks went out the window after the crazy hot day but in the end that turned out to be for the best. I will have to say that for as much as we liked the hotel, having to walk across Harbor Blvd really took away from the magic that is Disneyland and at night reminded us more of Vegas Blvd with people preaching, peddling for money by playing instruments on the corner, etc.

Day 2 Part 1: Are You Robin Sparkles?

I would like to say that Saturday, August 31st started bright and early for me but it was only just early. The world was still dark when my alarm went off. I surprisingly slept decently and I think being up super early the week prior for work made it that much easier. I got dressed and after a groggy good luck and I love you from B, I was out the door. The 10k didnt start until 6:15am, but you are always required to be in your corrals well before the start of the event. The walk over was quiet, I think most of us were still half asleep but I did get a few comments about my Robin outfit. This was my first time dressing up for a race and it was so fun having people acknowledge the costume.

1ec8266d-44c3-4a07-bca9-174017d1efd7_zps91f1dbaa.jpg

Once we made it over to the staging area it turned in to a lot of waiting. We didnt even get lined up until way after they asked us to be there. The one thing I have always loved about the running community is how friendly everyone is so while there was a lot of waiting around it was nice to get to chat with other runners! While we were waiting, I had a younger gentleman come over and ask if I watched How I Met Your Mother. I replied I had only seen a few episodes and he then asked if I was dressed as Robin Sparkles. I must have had that deer in a headlights look because he quickly explained she was a character on the show and thought because I had a Robin shirt and green sparkly skirt that I was going as her. Very creative and outside of the box wish I could have said yes, I totally thought of that!

Finally in the corrals it was only a short amount of time before they let the first wave go.

It took about 12 minutes from the official start to let our Corral go. Definitely not as organized as the ½s with the waves being let out. The very start of the course is identical to the ½ except when we hit Katella instead of going left we went straight to take us by the Convention Center and Mile #1.

Never had a clue that was there - it was so cool to pass between the parks like that. The path came up near where the costuming building for DL is located and where the 2nd water stop was supposed to be.

3e3b8122-4de9-4128-8cc6-7bade692e8f8_zps8fa84b0c.jpg

I had made the decision to not run with my Camelback for these races and rely solely on Disney for the hydration so it was a little bit of a shock when the water stop wasnt where it was supposed to be. With how hot and humid it was, there were quite a few not too happy runners and it got to the point where whenever I heard someone ask a Disney employee out on the course the canned response was always only oh, youre almost there, it is just around the corner. Well just around the corner put the water stop after Mile 4 totally not acceptable on Disneys part, especially with the Official Course showing the water stop at Mile 3 1/2. Gave me a little bit of pause for the ½ the next day and the water stops, but those were good in the previous years and they had done the ½ so many times, there shouldnt be a problem, right?!?

Out of the backstage we came out in to the Esplanade between the parks to head in to DL.

Heading on to Main Street and catching that first glimpse of Sleeping Beauty castle always gets me a little teary. Down Main Street we made a right to head in to Tomorrowland and Mile 4.

It was shortly after Circle D that we made our way back in to the park and in to Fantasyland for Mile 5.

Epic costumes right before running through the castle.

Back in to the hub we once again made a right to head in to Frontierland.

Down through Critter Country, we went backstage again right next to Splash. We were getting close to the end. This portion of the backstage headed us back out towards DTD. I got a kick out of the fact that Disney has it own mix of fertilizer, haha!

We passed the Imagineering Building and then we were back in DTD.

We hit Mile 6 right at Tortilla Joes and this was the cutest of all of the mile markers. I wish I had gotten a better picture but it was Mad Hatters Tea Party and you could sit at the table and chairs for a cute photo op.

The last .2 miles flew by and what felt like a blink of an eye, the first leg of the Dumbo Double Dare was completed.

Since it was only a 10k, I told B not to worry about coming over to the finish so he got to sleep in and stayed back at the room and started watching a set of Gundam DVDs (Japenese Anime about Robots) I had gotten him for our anniversary on my laptop.

Even with the water stop issue, the 10k really was a fun race and while I am on the fence about doing Dumbo again next year (mostly due to the cost), if nothing else I would definitely do the 10k again. Minus the Color Run I did with friends and family earlier this year, I think it is the most fun I have had at a race and would highly recommend it for anyone who isn't quite sure they are ready to take on a ½ Marathon at Disneyland yet. They are also doing a 10K for Tinkerbell weekend in January but I didnt sign up for that one, maybe next year though.
