For 7 Dwarfs Mine Train:
1. Can my 6 yr. old ride directly in front of me in the same car?
2. Can I get FP+ for 6 people at 60 days out? I'm only staying on site for one day so I won't be able to do 60+ length of stay and search for the end of my trip.

Thanks!!

1- If you want, you can ride next to your child. There are two seats per row.

2- If you are staying onsite, you can book 60 days out.

Hope this helps, and have a magical time!

Thanks!

We actually have 4 kids so I will need to sit next to my 3 yr. old (DH will sit with 4 yr. old). Will my 6 and 8 year olds be able to sit in front of us?

I know I can book at 60 days, but do you think there will there be availability for the 6 of us at the 60 day mark?

yes they will put the six of you in three consecutive cars and you can put them in the first car

Re the 6 yo.....I thought under 7s had to ride with an adult?

Counting down to 14th May!

Yes, I've read under seven years needs to be accompanied by an adult. But does that mean in the same car (in front of me) or in the same row (sitting directly next to me).

Under 7 has to ride with someone 14 or older.

I'm not sure how they would handle tis situation. I know on TSMM in May there was a mom and 2 boys in front of us, ages 8 and 5. They would not allow the 8 and 5 year old on one side of the car, the 5 year old had to ride with mom and the 8 year old alone. They were disappointed because the kids wanted to sit together but they wouldn't budge.

That is a good question.

I haven't been on 7DMT but I rode Barnstormer with two kids both under 7. They allowed me with one kid in a row and another kid by himself in the row in front of us.

But, I have heard other people say that the riding together rule means in the same row. So maybe it is enforced inconsistently, or it is different for different rides.

Uggh. I hope this won't be a problem for us. We have two adults and 3 kids ages 3y, 4y, and 6y. The 8 yr. old can ride alone, but that wouldn't do us any good on rides that only have two seats if they insist the 6 yr. old has to have an adult seated directly next to her :(

Unfortunately, I think you might run into a problem...they wouldn't let our 13 years old ride with our 6 year old on any rides...have to be 14 and older...

This would be really disappointing :( There would be very few rides we could actually go on. If we get in line, couldn't they find some way for us to ride? Put her in front of us with a person from another party with an odd number or something?? It wouldn't be ideal, but otherwise there's no way for us to ride.

Anyone else been to Disney lately with 3 kids under the age of 7? I am setting one day aside where dh will stay with youngest two so I can go on headliners with the 6 & 8 yr. olds. If the 8 yr. old has to ride alone, it will be okay. However, on our other disney days I want to stay together as a family. My boys are already missing out on all the big rides since they are really short for their ages. Will Disney really turn us away without trying to find a solution that will work?

What about rider/"baby" swap? Might be a good option.

Rider swap wouldn't work because my boys are tall enough to ride. Even if they let us do rider swap, one of my kids wouldn't get to ride :( First time through...mom + 3 yr. old. 8 yr. old could sit in front of me. Second time through...dad + 4 yr. old. 8 yr. old could ride again. However...6 yr. old would not get to ride either time in that scenario.

8 year old DS is old enough and tall enough to ride TT. He had gotten into trouble at camp everyday the week before our vacation, so we told him he couldn't ride TT. We did child swap without any problems; however, there are other considerations for you. But you should be able to do child swap whenever it's available despite the age/height of your children.
