Twirling Through the World: Magic, Memories, & Maladies-Sept. 2011 TR- NEW PTR 6/18!

First of all, I have no idea how I missed comments recently! So sorry! Love you all, and I didn't do it on purpose! Thank you for sticking with me and reading my nonsense and looking at my sappy pictures:goodvibes!

There is actually a good reason that I’ve been so long between updates…it’s all my husband’s fault:lmao:! Brandon has been editing these gorgeous wide-angle shots he took at Disney, and I didn’t want to write one more update without them! You’ll notice them sprinkled throughout the “normal” shots for the rest of the trip report, and if they don’t transport you there, I’m not sure what will.

Now, park DAY THREE!

We woke up bright and early Monday morning. I pretty much jumped out of bed—it was Epcot day!! Epcot is the favorite park of the adults in our group, but the kids love it nearly as much. On this morning, both girls took a quick bath (Julia had to still wash out all that gunk from BBB) and were eating breakfast much faster than normal. We made it to Epcot and parked in a nearly-empty lot and began the walk in.

Along the way, Brynn was singing “it’s a small world,” and for the second time this trip, someone complimented her singing of the various languages. Or at least of the sounds of the languages. She was singing at the top of her lungs the whole walk in, and I hated to break it to her that today was not going to involve that ride. She got over it quickly, and soon we were seeing this:

The park was opening just a moment after we arrived, and I was at the front of the pack.

Did I mention that the park was pretty much empty? It was a 1.1 crowd level.

We’d already discussed the plan: get over to The Land Pavilion, grab children quickly, and make our way down for a rider swap pass. Seriously? I meant business. That’s me, front and center. Very focused.
disney-2011-day-3-035.jpg

We pushed the strollers to the new stroller parking and yanked the kids inside as fast as their little legs would take them! Okay, not really, but that’s what this picture looks like!

Ahhhhhh….my favorite pavilion in my favorite park!
disney-2011-day-3-055.jpg

You know where we were headed…
disney-2011-day-3-069.jpg

With baby as evidence, I grabbed a rider swap pass at the desk to the left of the entrance.
disney-2011-day-3-072.jpg

Now it was time to measure Miss Brynn for her first ever flight! She made it with lots of room to spare!
disney-2011-day-3078.jpg

We clapped and high fived and made our way into the standby line. The wait was posted at 20 minutes already, which I just couldn’t believe—I was nearly first!—but it took nearly that long. We did some waiting in our own style.
disney-2011-day-3-087.jpg

disney-2011-day-3-092.jpg

disney-2011-day-3-099.jpg

And finally, after multiple threats to my children about not playing with the chains and barriers, we made it to our flight! It was perfect, as usual, and we all loved it! I loved watching the girls duck at the golf ball part and Brynn cover her ears during the fireworks. They burst into applause at the end, which started the rest of the people clapping. It was wonderful.

Please don’t think that Mamie and Sawyer were waiting around bored while we were riding. Oh, no! I might have forced Mamie to put Sawyer back in a stroller, cross Future World, and grab some Fastpasses for Test Track:confused3. No time to spare!!

They were waiting inside when we exited the ride, and she took the girls back on for another turn at Soarin’.

Not ones to waste time ourselves, we set out to accomplish a very serious task.

Strawberry Shortcake at Sunshine Seasons.

Yep. Perfection.

Brandon also got some sort of parfait thing, along with my Iced Mocha and a banana for Sawyer.
disney-2011-day-3-116.jpg

One happy mama.
disney-2011-day-3-134.jpg

Sawyer was in awe of the balloons overhead. Who am I kidding…I was, too!

We also had these pretty babies that Mamie handed us on her way in.
disney-2011-day-3-150.jpg

It seemed to be taking forever for the ladies to finish the ride, so Sawyer and I sneaked over to the benches across from the bathrooms and he had some milk while I hoped for him to go to sleep. Didn’t happen. But his shenanigans were well-timed, as we saw everyone exiting while we were over there.

Mamie was gushing about her first ride on Soarin’ and declared it her NEW favorite, over Splash Mountain the day before.

Now it was time for yet another favorite:

Living with the Land!

With the wait time posted at “0 Minutes,” you can’t beat that! This really is one of our favorite rides. We love to sing “Listen to the Land” as we ride. Love it. And Brynn likes to say things like, “Ooooh, what a pretty campfire!” when the fields are burning:rolleyes:.

If all of us love it, Brandon is OBSESSED with it. So now I’m just going to show you a billion pictures of Living with the Land with no captions. I joke with him that he took all these so we could envision pretty much the whole ride. And he said he did. Enjoy.

Next Up: Test Track, baby! ZOOOOOMM!!!

Can't wait to see how the girls react to Test Track! My DD declared it her favorite ride!

Beautiful pictures, the wait was worth it :thumbsup2

1.1 sounds like the perfect crowd level day for Epcot!!! :thumbsup2 Love all of your Living With The Land pictures, that's one of our favorites too!

Great updates! Great pictures too....I love The Land pavilion too and we always stop here for either a snack for lunch too!

When I first read about Living With the Land, I had no interest in it. But this past trip we rode it and we loved it. We even rode it more than once! Your husband took many great pictures. :)

It was the first time for all of us! I have to admit that I didn't know how any of us would like it!

glad you're back!
Thanks! Now I have all my Epcot photos sized and loaded into photobucket, so I'm ready to keep on posting about this looooong day! I think it was our longest. It will take several installments!

I'm telling you, it was my kind of crowds! I'm glad you can appreciate the photos! We love it...although I have to admit that when I see those photos I start thinking, "Mmmmkay, Brandon, it's a plant!" These are only *some* of the photos he took on the ride. He has each plant from several angles, I think:rolleyes:.

Great updates! Great pictures too....I love The Land pavilion too and we always stop here for either a snack for lunch too!
Thanks! Have you ever noticed how good it smells in there?? I can't describe that smell, but it only exists in that pavilion and is heavenly!:cloud9:

If you read a description, it does sound really bland, but something about actually being on the ride is magical:lovestruc.
I think his Epcot pictures are my favorites. That could be because it's my favorite park, though! There's one picture coming up that makes me gasp in awe! You'll see:thumbsup2.

Yay for Brynn getting to ride Soarin',
and I agree with Mamie - it is my favorite ride in all parks. :thumbsup2

She was really excited, even though she had no idea what it was about! She just knew it was a cool thing to be tall enough:laughing:! I'm glad she ended up loving it; I know I do!

We decided to head out of The Land Pavilion. No, we didn’t do the Circle of Life movie—never have—but we promised to do it someday as we walked outside into the sunshine.

We first made a quick stop for a picture to commemorate Brynn’s first ride on Soarin’, just like we had done with Julia last trip.

disney-2011-day-3-309.jpg

The park was still virtually empty as we made our way across Future World.

The Fountain of Nations was looking gorgeous, as usual.

disney-2011-day-3312Panorama.jpg

It was time for our FastPasses for Test Track, and we made our way over.

Mamie and Sawyer decided that they’d look around in Mousegears, and Mamie said she had no desire to ride at all, truth be told. So four of us headed in for our first trip.

disney-2011-day-3-344.jpg

We walked straight up to the doors of Bay 2.

disney-2011-day-3-347.jpg

Okay, some of us walked. Some of us danced and skipped to the music. (My first upload of videos! YAY! Click them!)

Video of Brynn’s Stacey impression…though she was too excited to focus on it! Can you tell??

We loved it!! Brandon wasn’t as impressed with it as the girls and I were, but he still liked it a lot. We liked it enough to grab more FastPasses to use later! I doubt it will be open on our next trip (“Fall 2012” does not sound promising for a mid-September trip), and I’m bummed!

It was about 10:45 at this point, so we decided to casually meander over to our next destination. We headed out.

My first stop was to sign up for a Kim Possible mission, but we never ended up doing it.

Still a beautiful, crowd-free day.

Nope, not here, though we did stop for a bit to soak in the sights and sounds!

LOVED it! It was the best Epcot day we've ever had, and you know that's saying a lot!

Our whole family loves it! Even the baby, as you'll see later on! I can't say enough good things about Epcot.

Great updates! I love the crowds in September! It is such a great time of the year to go! I feel like you can do all the big rides multiple times.

I have grown to love Living With the Land as well. Has your DH ever considered the backstage tour of that ride? I bet he would like it!

He always says he's going to do it, and then something gets in the way of it. Don't tell anyone, but I'm secretly thinking of signing him up for our next trip! Shhhhh:thumbsup2!

Wow, I can't believe how empty Epcot is! That's awesome!
It was spectacular! Now I'm planning every Epcot day on predicted low crowd levels!

I'm late but I'm joining in! I'm loving your TR so far your kids are so adorable!
WELCOME! You're not that late--there's lots more trip to go. We're just getting this party started!:yay:
