Twirling Through the World: Magic, Memories, & Maladies-Sept. 2011 TR- NEW PTR 6/18!

Aw, it's all over! But on the plus side, there's a new trip on the horizon! Yay! I'm also going to be back in Sept! (best time of year to go, right?!)

It looks like despite some sickness you guys had an amazing trip overall, your kids are just adorable, looked like everyone had fun! I'll definitely be reading along the PTR and Sept TR too!!

Hi!

Just found your tip report through your signature in a reply you made on a different TR I was reading. I wanted to say thanks for sharing your trip. You have an adorable family and I'm glad that despite the sickness you were able to enjoy yourselves! We'll be going at the most awfu....er, wonderful...time of the year this year (just after Christmas to a little after New Year) with kids who will be similar in age to what Brynn and Sawyer were for your trip. My daughter (3) also has issues with her hair and loud noises. I'm going to steal the earmuff idea for sure. My son (will be 16 months at trip time) rarely sleeps through the night and will also probably still be nursing at the time. Hopefully he'll do some good sleeping through the night while we are there! We will also be traveling with my MIL. Anyway, sorry for rambling, but I was glad to read about your good experiences. I'm a bit nervous for our trip and just hoping to make up for last time when we all got sick and didn't really recover. I'm feeling a little more at ease now thanks to you!

Hope your next trip is even more magical! :wizard:

Thank you so much! I'm glad you found the TR. I hope your trip goes smoothly this time!
Definitely steal the earmuff idea! They work wonders not only at WDW, but also for things around here that Brynn gets upset about (vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, loud singing at church...but who am I kidding? That freaks me out, too:lmao:)
Congrats on a successful nursing relationship:cheer2:! I am proud of both of you! Sawyer turns two this Saturday:sad2: and is still nursing, though now it's only when he wakes up, nap time, and bed time. And bedtime? YEP, he finally sleeps through the night now:banana:! We got back from Disney and all that great sleeping went right out the window for many months to follow. I just try and cherish all these moments because I know he'll only be this young once and only need me this much for a little while longer. He's likely to be our last, and it's going to feel odd when he doesn't need me as much--I've either been pregnant, nursing, or both since 2005! I won't know what to do with myself when it's done!
I hope you'll join in on my new PTR and the TR that is sure to follow:goodvibes.

I just found your trip report from Joni's and am loving it! Cloth diapers and nursing past a year...love it! Reading TR's to bide my time until we go in 2 months!

Oh, I'm so glad! You just made my day:goodvibes!
Still cloth diapering around here, and still nursing, too...and as of a few weeks ago, we're now nursing past TWO years:cheer2:! Obviously it's not nearly as often, but it's still happening. Brynn quit on her second birthday, Julia just made it to 16 months (not *just*, but in comparison;)), and Sawyer is my longest nurser to date! Not sure how much longer he'll want it, but I'm super-proud of both of us! I LOVE to hear support for child-led weaning:hug:!
I hope you'll join us on our PTR for our September trip, as well, and eventually that TR!

We are going Sept 27-October 6. We homeschool our kids so we love going when its not school vacation! What dates are you going (haven't check out your PTR but I will)? I can't wait! Question for you...was it extremely hot? I'm only about 1/2 way through your TR so you may have mentioned it. We have been at the beginning of Sept and it was very hot and mid October, which was perfect. We don't like it way too hot but whatever...we're in Disney!

As far as nursing, my oldest stopped at 3, my middle weaned when I was pregnant with my 3rd at 2 and my youngest stopped at 5! He has down syndrome and is very little. Not that it matters, I would have let him self wean anyway but it was kind of like I was nursing a two year old even though he was 5. I remember our last trip, I loved seeing a Mom on the bus nursing her toddler...I wanted to give her a high five but that might have been weird! :)

Ok going to go continue your report!

Brynn weaned when I was pregnant with Sawyer, too. She just stopped one day with no warning, which I'd heard could happen around six months pregnant. She has Asperger's and has very sensitive taste buds and oral sensory issues, and I really think the change in my milk and breast size/shape made her upset enough to quit. I know Julia quit because I was teaching at the time and had quit pumping, so she was only nursing morning, nights, and weekends. It's one of the reasons I quit teaching to become a SAHM. With Sawyer, we've had no issues at all:thumbsup2!

Not gonna lie--yes, it's hot and still humid. It seemed especially bad out in World Showcase at Epcot and just about any part of AK. Mornings were really nice, though.

We're going September 14-23, so we're just going to miss you :(.

This is the same look our girls have when they watch this. They are mesmerized by the show.

I'm with you on Toy Story Midway Mania. I like it, but I don't love it, and I have no plans to ever run over anyone to get to it.

Ugh! One of my biggest fears is getting the stomach bug while in Disney! With 5 of us, I feel like it would ruin our whole week! I'm glad yours was quick at least but doesn't sound fun at all!

That look makes it worth every single penny! Also, Brynn was being still. You know she's enthralled when she's not moving!

It was horrible. Horrible. But at least it was over with quickly. Unfortunately, the kids have all had the stomach virus for a few days now. I said in my PTR that I thought they were getting better, but I was WRONG:sick:. I'm just really hoping this is our one sickness of the year so we don't get it again at Disney this year:sad2:.
