I'm looking to buy a twin Mattress/boxspring for my DS, but my goodness, the cheapest one is $400 +.

Is this correct? Has anyone gotten one for less?? I don't want anything used and expect to keep it for many years, but this price seems outrageous!

I may just set him up in our guest bedroom's full bed!

$400? I've seen them for $200!

Is there a "bob's discount furniture" near you? My brother has one of his mattresses - says they are rather comfortable.

where did you go? a furniture store or a mattress place?

For a twin mattress, the best thing to do is go to a large department store (like Sears) that has closeouts. Usually, they will have them stacked up in their "overstock" department or their "as is" room. That is how I have purchased both my kids' twin bed mattresses.

Also check out Sam's or Costco - you can buy online and have it delivered to you. I don't know the prices online but in the store they are pretty reasonable.

I bought mine at sams club and they weren't that much.under 200.00

Thanks...i'll try Sam's.

Bob's unfortunately isn't in my area. I just am floored at how much these cost. My gosh!

Wow, I just went through this this week.

I've bought from Sam's, a twin mattress, it's garbage. My DD is losing sleep. I can squeeze the top and bottom together with one hand.

The mattress stores are completely inflating the costs, it's ridiculous.

I went to our Filene's that has a furniture section. I found a pillow top mattress & boxspring for $399.00. Still too much, but the salesperson told me that they are going to discount all their mattresses for Memorial Day, so if I hold off, it'll come down by a $100.00 or more. Also, if you have a store credit card, it'll save you 10%.

Good luck in you're search, I know it's tiring (no pun intended).

Got my DD's twin mattress for $119 from Mattress Discounters. Her bed doesn't use a box spring since she has a day bed with a trundle underneath...
