Could be. I think Steph said Twilight was simply the working title for the book and nobody could come up with anything better so it became the actual title. I think the rest of the titles flowed from there. When were those books published? Did they come out before Twilight?

I wonder why this song was not on the soundtrack? The song that plays while Bella is dying and Edward sucks the poison out is not on it either. :confused3

Money. Rights. Maybe they'll put out a special addition "complete" soundtrack at some point, which we'll all blow money on. Rob sings the second song you referred to, which I think is better than Never Think. He doesn't sound as drunk.

One of my favorite TV shows, China Beach, won't be released on DVD because they can't get the rights to all the Motown music used in the show.

I thought it sounded like him singing. Dirty Dancing came out with another soundtrack. Maybe this is something to look forward to.
I think I have convinced DH to read these books. I put it on my christmas list!:lmao: I think he will like it, not as much as me I am sure. He is into fantasy. SO am I "swoon"

That song, Let Me Sign, is one of the bonus songs on the iTunes soundtrack. It isn't available for individual purchase. I ended up buying the iTunes version after already having the CD, just so I could get the bonus tracks. :lmao: Claire de Lune and La Traviata are the other two bonus tracks on the iTunes version. Let Me Sign is one of my favorite songs, I even have it as a ringtone. It takes me back to that scene every time I hear it, even if it's hard to decipher the lyrics (which are posted on various sites on the web).

You're going to LOVE the Sookie Stackhouse books! They are much more *adult* than the Twilight series and just as good- and better than the HBO show based on them.
After you finish a few let me know whether you're Team Bill or Team Eric!;)

I love love love the Sookie Stackhouse novels! Read all 8 of them in a weekend after I lent out my Twilight books and needed a new fix... I tried to hold out for Bill I really did but after the latest books I think I have jumped ship... it's just too much, you know?

I wouldn't be surprised if the DVD has a whole special music section, especially since it seems to be a beloved part of the movie and for Meyer as well. I guess time will tell!

So did any of you read the script that I posted the link to? I want to discuss it!!!! ;)

/
I looked back at everyone's response to the bonus question regarding posting spoilers. Here are the results:

People who want to keep things how they have been (posting in white text etc..) with spoiler:
6 (21%)

People who want to now post freely about the series and just have a disclaimer put on the first post of this thread...
22 (79%)

So it appears the people have spoken!!
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I read the script awhile ago when someone else here asked if we wanted it. I was disappointed that they cut out the part of the diner scene where Bellas says she will cook for Charlie. Reading the script helped me to deal with the changes from the book better.:surfweb: By the time the movie came out, I wasn't as surprised or disappointed by the differences.

Another book series that I enjoyed is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Each book is around 1000 pages so they take awhile to get through. They are about a woman who accidentally time travels from WWII era back to Scotland right before Culloden happened. She meets a Highland Scot named James Fraser and the rest of the series is about historical events and how their romance blossoms and then about their family. The lead male is Jamie Fraser-there's a big poll going on Twilight Moms about whether you'd rather have Jamie or Edward. :lovestruc The books are very good but can't be skimmed! I'm on the 5th book now and I'm up to the beginning of the American Revolution.

Hmmm-can't wait to find out what you mean! I have only read the first 5 so far. I love these books as well!

Ooh, I read this series in high school and I recently pick up some used copies of the first three and after I get done with this truly awful negotiable instruments final tomorrow (really law school?? do I need to know this stuff?? I think not), I plan on starting them. I recently listened to A Great and Terrible Beauty and I thought it was really good. I don't usually do audiobooks, but I had itunes credit and thought it would be a nice change, plus I knew if I had a hardcopy I would just sit there and read the whole thing and not study. The lady who read them was awesome!! I plan on reading the rest of the that trilogy asap as well.

Here's the quote from SM's website about the title Twilight:
Twilight was not the easiest book to title. When I started sending out queries, I called it Forks for lack of a better idea. The first thing my agent advised me was that the title was going to have to change. We played around with a lot of different titles, and nothing seemed to convey the right feel. We brainstormed through emails for about a week. The word twilight was on a list of "words with atmosphere" that I sent her. Though these words were meant to be used in combination with something else, the word twilight stood out to both of us. We decided to try it out, and, after a little adjustment time, it started to work for both of us. It isn't absolutely perfect; to be honest, I don't think there is a perfect title for this book (or if there is, I've never heard it). When I look at the titles other countries have used (examples: Germany: Bis zum Morgengrauen which is "Until Dawn" or "Bite" if you add an "s" to make it "biss" (if you look at the German book cover on the Twilight International page); Finland: "Temptation;" France: "Fascination;" and Japan, which has split it into three separate books: "The Boy Whom I Love is a Vampire," "Blood Tastes Sadness," and "The Vampire Family in the Darkness."), it seems like I might be right about that. (Both New Moon and Eclipse were much easier to title, and the titles also fit better.)

I read somewhere that she originally titled it "Forks" and her publisher made the change-

Interesting points about the Warrior series titles!
:confused3

I am not too worried about the rush. It looks like the script was Feb 2008 and the movie came out Nov 2008 so I guess the 2009 time frame is about right.

Travelmel,
I guess the saying is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder because I do not see Rosalie as anything more than just plain. I have also not seen her in anything else but have see her in pics on the internet and even not in Rosaslie garb I just don't see her as even pretty. Sorry to disagree.

For the person looking for books for the kindel Have you read the Ann Rice Vampire or Witch chronicles? How about Jean Auels caveman series? I would love a Kindel it just seems so convenient.

Thanks for all the book suggestions - WOW I have a lot to go through. I do have the Secret Life of Bees, the first Southern Vampire book and the first two Outlander books (I've read most of the first one years ago and really liked it - never finished it and probably started it twice , lol).

I liked a Great and Terrible Beauty too but haven't read either of the sequels yet. I read the first 4 Outlander books years ago-my husband bought me The Fiery Cross when it came out and I never picked it up because I forgot so much of what was going on! After reading the Twilight series and The Host, I was inspired to try again after reading threads on Twilight Moms. I forgot how great they are! :lovestruc I'm finally up to The Fiery Cross. That one moves a little slowly but I've been told that the 6th book is very good and worth the wait. Diana Gabaldon is hoping to have the 7th book out by the holidays next year.:yay:

OMG. NO contest--JAMIE. Edward is stuck at 17. Jamie is all MAN.
