Ooh, I read this series in high school and I recently pick up some used copies of the first three and after I get done with this truly awful negotiable instruments final tomorrow (really law school?? do I need to know this stuff?? I think not), I plan on starting them. I recently listened to A Great and Terrible Beauty and I thought it was really good. I don't usually do audiobooks, but I had itunes credit and thought it would be a nice change, plus I knew if I had a hardcopy I would just sit there and read the whole thing and not study. The lady who read them was awesome!! I plan on reading the rest of the that trilogy asap as well.
I liked a Great and Terrible Beauty too but haven't read either of the sequels yet. I read the first 4 Outlander books years ago-my husband bought me The Fiery Cross when it came out and I never picked it up because I forgot so much of what was going on! After reading the Twilight series and The Host, I was inspired to try again after reading threads on Twilight Moms. I forgot how great they are!I'm finally up to The Fiery Cross. That one moves a little slowly but I've been told that the 6th book is very good and worth the wait. Diana Gabaldon is hoping to have the 7th book out by the holidays next year.

So the two of you like the Outlander and you liked Great and Terrible Beauty (did you think it was scary in parts? It gave me all over body goosebumps a few times... I thought it was very intersting... but not enough vampires.. lol)
The Outlander series sounds great... I'm daunted but I think I'll attempt it! I also loved the Clan of the Cavebear series in high school.
Travelmel,
I guess the saying is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder because I do not see Rosalie as anything more than just plain. I have also not seen her in anything else but have see her in pics on the internet and even not in Rosaslie garb I just don't see her as even pretty. Sorry to disagree.
For the person looking for books for the kindel Have you read the Ann Rice Vampire or Witch chronicles? How about Jean Auels caveman series? I would love a Kindel it just seems so convenient.

Absolutely no apologies necessary. I was thinking about it and I think somebody said that they thought Rosalie was more 'sexy' than beautiful. I thought maybe that is sort of like a porn star vs say.... JFK Jr's wife, Caroline?

But, yes, beauty is so totally in the eye of the beholder. I'm easily pleased though. I thought she was lovely.
I wish that Rob Pattinson would share the diary entries he wrote from Edward's POV while he was preparing for the role. Just a random thought I just had. Go back to resuming your life now!![]()
Me too! He's got an interesting take on the whole thing. I think he felt the whole story was a little twisted but it would be interesting to hear his take on that for sure!
my dh has a great sense of humor. Th at is why I fel in love with him. We were talking about Glenn Becks book "the Christmas sweater" I think it's called. Anyway it's been on the bestseller list for a long time and I thought about reading it.
I looked at my dh and said "I would love to read it, but will be sad if there aren't any vampires it in."Which he came back with "Well, you could pretend" LOL
So, we'll all just randomly slip Edward and the rest of the Cullens into our everyday life. Should make it more interesting! LOL
Shopping list-
bread, butter, human blood for Renesmee and new jeans for Rosalies butt.![]()

Check out the stickers. They're great! On pg 5 they have one that says "Meanwhile, in a town named Spoons..." Ahhahahaha too funny...
Too funny! I can't afford the SF thing.
