If you read Midnight Sun it makes it even more clear that Angela went with Ben. There's a big deal made out of the fact that Ben is shorter than her and that is why he is scared to ask her. Actually, Midnight Sun makes the whole Angela/Ben thing much more interesting. If you haven't read it, I recommed it!

I said practically the same thing (can't remember which board I was on) and got blasted about how Stepenie's a Mormon and she'd never..... So glad that others actually do feel the way I do. I don't mean it in an insulting way, she just gives us so much to think about, I'd love to read an adult version of the series. :cloud9: Glad to be in the gutter with y'all!:grouphug:

I'm glad the series isn't any more adult, I wouldn't have read it if it was. Even though there is some innuendo (especially in book 4) I don't think of it that way. I like this thread, it's fun discussing Twilight with fellow fans, but honestly, after last night I'm not sure how much longer I will be reading. I've just been skipping the posts, but if they become the whole thread... I really dislike romances in general and some people on here really had to convince me that these books were worth reading. I hope Midnight Sun continues in the same vein that it is now.

Just saw the movie again with a friend who own the first book, but hadn't started to read it. She LOVED it!! I created a newborn!!! Yay!!! :thumbsup2

I will also say that I loved the movie way more this second time. As travelmel said, I was able to just relax with the film and stop comparing it to the book. I also caught some of those details you all have been talking about. Plus, it was just nice to admire Edward (Rob..) for a couple of hours.

Question... For those of you who own the audio books, how are they? Just curious who is speaking in them and if they are good to listen to. Thanks!

And just for the heck of it...

I have the audiobooks of Twilight and New Moon. They are okay, but I don't much like the voice and inflection of the speaker. For what it's worth, I never listened to an audiobook before this so it coiuld be that this i snot the right medium for me. What I found difficult is that after I listened to it for the longest time when I read the books I was hearing her intonation which I did not agree with.

She went with Ben, she was never even interested in Eric, lol
The movie combined some characters together. Lauren and Jessica are combined in Jessica and Ben and Eric are combined in Eric.

Whew. I seriously thought I was losing my mind there! I read MS and it was nice they way they got together so I was just a tad confused. I highly recommend reading MS and THEN seeing the movie again, it just explains more of why Edward does what he does. Or maybe it's because I've read Twilight three times. Who knows. I did recognize the songs when they were played in the movie.

I seriously want her to finish MS.

:cold:

I try to listen to them at work, but some of the voices put me to sleep....I've only listened to one that I truly enjoyed...with Tom Hanks, uh cant' remember the name!! It was huge, with the catholic church and the Louve...argh!!!

I might see if the library has Twilight just for kicks.

ok, so I just got back from seeing the movie again, and I'm confused. I loaned my Twilight copy out or I'd check it myself, but who does Angela go to the Prom with? In the movie they kept saying it was the Prom and I know in the book it was that girls-choice dance, but doesn't she go with Ben? 'Cause of what happened in MS?? In the movie she went with Eric. Did they just cut Ben out?

Am I just confused?

In the books, there's 2 dances-- the girls' choice, and the prom at the end. Apparently for clarity's sake in the movie, they just deal with one dance, the prom.

In the book, when Bella turns down Mike and suggests that he go with Jessica to the girls' choice, Jessica calls all excited because he finally accepted. Bella suggests that maybe Angela can go with Eric, and Lauren could ask Tyler, so that's what they do. Later on, when they go dress shopping, it states that Angela was "passively happy to be going to the dance, but not really interested in Eric."

Then in Midnight Sun, it's revealed that Angela is really attracted to Ben, and vice versa, so Edward does a little roleplaying to nudge Ben into realizing that she likes him, and so Ben will resolve to ask her to the prom. Which he does.

In the movie, there's no Ben. Too complicated, I guess. ;)

EB, I'm so sorry if I have offended you with any of my posting. It was not my intention. Everybody has a different way of looking at things, and while I think it's important to be able to express oneself freely, it's also important to be mindful of others' feelings. I have so enjoyed your postings on here and hope to continue to see your thoughts here often.

Love the illustrations, CP! Can you tell us the source, please? Thanks!

I handed Twilight to our pastor's wife last week... yesterday she e-mailed me and asked... "So... umm... do you have New Moon?" Yes! Another for my coven! She has to wait for my MIL to finish it, though, but I'm guessing that will be in two days flat, at the rate MIL is reading.

hey OT here for a sec but I know that CP is going to WDW but is anyone going to DL next week? Gail, Sunny Bunny, Mellllllllllllllllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssssssaaaaaaaaaaa????

I really think SM is trying to take over the world through mind control. There has to be some sort of rationalization as to why I am on my 3rd reading of the darn things and even though I saw the movie today -but only for the 2nd time, I know other's have been way more-I want to see it again. Once you open these books, you are permanently hooked, I don't care who you are. I think I read somewhere that Obama has read the too.

And I'm sorry if I offended you EB, if what you meant was my gutter- typing. :flower3:

Nope. Nada, nowhere. :sad2:

It made me sad to remove my ticker from our trip about 2 months ago since we don't have one planned anytime soon. I'm going to try to stay on my every other year plan.

How different from WDW is DL???

Back to our regularly scheduled Twilight obsession.

hi.:goodvibes
i am reading twilight, and it is soooooooooo good!!!!:thumbsup2
it is so interesting, and i know i shouldnt be giving it away, but edward was sopposed 2 die in 1918, so he stays 18 4ever!!!
and its so x-citing when she almost gets hit by a car!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
read it! its an amazing book! and then read the whole seiries! especially new moon! best book iiiiv ever read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like the speaking voice on the audio books either.

I dont know if this is the same but I had "read" all the books on CD from my library. I thought the narrator was wonderful. Her name is Kadushin. Maybe thats why I was so disappointed with the casting of Bella.

DL has 2 parks and everything is really compact...you can walk between parks and DTD and take the monorail or walk to the hotels, most people stay off site at DL vs at wdw, our DL is better than wdw MK but we dont have epcot, or AK...DHS is very similar to an area in DCA (Disney California Adventure) and it only takes me about 5 hours to drive it vs. flying 5 hours to the other side of the US:rolleyes:

If anyone wants a Rob fix, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is on ABC Family right now... :goodvibes:

Actually, Edward is 17. New Moon was my least favorite, but I'm not a Jacob fan. I did really enjoy the ending though. Right now I am re-reading the series and I'm on Eclipse. You have to read the partial draft of Midnight Sun. I can't wait for her to finish it. Hopefully she will do all the books based on Edward's perspective. Glad you are enjoying it.

I have had my fix of Edward today, we spent the day in the meadow. And yes, he sparkles everywhere.:rotfl2: And he'll be back when dh is asleep.

:rotfl2:
He'll by climbing through my window in about half an hour. DBF has no idea. :rotfl:

Speaking of DBF, have I said that he absolutely hates Edward Cullen and Twilight? Yes, he's jealous of fictional characters.:rotfl:

I wish! I'm stuck in Missouri. :( My bf and I discussed going to Disney for spring break, but his school and my school are on different schedules. Have fun to everybody who is going!
