What other movies have you all been this OCD over? Just curious.

Moulin Rouge was the last one...I saw it 6 times in theaters(to be fair though, 3 of those were at the dollar movie, so it didn't cost much of anything at all). I was already a huge fan of Baz's movies and of course found Moulin Rouge visually stunning!! Didn't hurt that it was a musical and had Ewan McGregor :lovestruc (who I've loved for years) singing in it!!!

as for Twilight..I've seen it 3 times... in the theater :rolleyes1

What a good movie. At first I hated it, but I grew to love it. I think that's how I view everything at first-- hate then love. :rotfl: And Ewan is so cute!

The last movie I did this with was Titanic. I saw it six times in the theatre, and I was absolutely obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio. Whenever I need my sanity, I remind myself I was able to outgrow that obsession and this one will pass in a few years... hopefully. ;)

(Okay, really I'm not coming back on tonight. I'm trying to type up my Ethnography that's due tomorrow, but I just keep finding better things to do.. like finding good Twilight banners. :rolleyes1

Love that graphic!! Awesome!!!

Thanks!

Oh yea... for movies... Urban Cowboy was another one of my guilty pleasures. Everytime it comes on TV when I'm flipping through channels I end up watching it. :sad2:

Oh how I wish fantasy were reality tonight! I posted in another thread- I have no heat and it is 15 degrees outside! At first I wanted Edward to keep me warm but then I realized it might now work so well. What I wouldn't give to have Jacob sleeping next to me tonight. Oh beautiful warmth! Once my heat is back on Edward can keep me company ;).

i have seen the movie twice and I'll go again tomorrow morning while the kiddo is at school...:rolleyes1

i have never obsessed about a film or book this much before in my life. i can practically hear my 8 year olds eyes rolling when she says in the backseat of the car, "are you listening to twilight music again?"

i was converted by a girl at work, she kept saying i should read the series, since i always have a book in my hand. i kept saying no, i didn't want to read PG vampire stories after having read the whole anne rice vampire series back in high school. finally i read a few chapters of her book and decided to read it. i caught the flu and read the series in a week. now i can't get enough!

since then, two more gals at work are reading it, one of my closest friends is on new moon now. i have 3 out of 4 books on loan right now. i want them back home, i miss them.

laura: great video! now i am "swooning" for new moon and edward/rob reciting romeo's lines :lovestruc :faint:

by the way i'm charmaine, hi!

For those of you who lend your books out, how do you do it? I can't part with mine! My niece wanted to read Twilight and I was so excited, until she hinted she wanted to just borrow mine. I couldn't part with it and made her mom buy it for her.:lmao: Then as I tried converting my neighbor(she is a fellow Nightmare Before Xmas fan and a huge fan of Tim Burton like DH and myself) so I figured she probably would like Twilight. I told her how great the book was then quickly added where she can buy it just incase she had any ideas of borrowing mine!LOL BTW, she loved it and is now reading New Moon. I just feel like I have to keep my books close to home.;)

only once so far... :sad2: but will be going Saturday after work..

nad the only movie I was this obsessed about ( and not really this bad but close) was Grease 2.

But I love Edward more. :lovestruc

I call every few days to check on how the reading is going....my underlying reason is to see where and how my book is! My Twilight and New Moon are paperback, and I fully expect Santa to bring me the collectors set. :santa:

I'm a huge Pirates of the Caribbean/Johnny Depp fan and I can honestly say, I wasn't nearly as obsessed with those movies as I've been with Twilight. I just don't understand! :confused3 My kids even bring it up.:rotfl:

I am a huge Johnny Depp fan too!(ever since 21 Jump Street) God I'm old!:rotfl:

I see some of you are U2 fans as well. Me too. DH is a hug fan of U2 also and we have seen them in concert many times.

I was/am a little obsessed with Harry Potter too but nothing like I am with Twilight. I did see all HP movies at midnight on opening day, but never multiple times in the theater.

EDIT: OH wait.. I may be able to claim a twi-guy.. Sleepless Knight! Not sure if he'd count me or if it was the general hype...

So I guess that means I can claim 3 or 4! But there may be more running around unabashed newborns reeking havoc! (My friend Christi) (Melanie) (Danielle)

I will introduce myself.......I am the Melanie in this post by Travelmel aka Melissa & yes it is her fault that I am now addicted to Twilight. I am currently reading Breaking Dawn & am determined to finish it before I leave for my trip in 3 days!!!!! Now back to your discussion & I must go back & read at least from the beginning of this thread.....

Did it bug anyone else that in the first scene when Bella parks her truck at school, she leaves the window down. She lives in the rainiest place in the US and she leaves her window open! UGH!

I understand that her window was down to get rid of the glare when filming her, but could she not crank it up when she got out?

;) It's the little things that bug me.

How many times has everyone here seen Twilight? Don't be ashamed! You're among friends. ;)

as of last night, 6...three in theatre, and three thanks to a friend of mine who knows how to find things...

This Friday will be my 3rd time seeing it.

What other movies have you all been this OCD over? Just curious. I have never wanted to see another movie multiple times in the movie theater except Grease when I was a kid. I made my grandmother take me to see it over and over!LOL

Titanic for sure. I saw it three times in theatre, and I don't know how many since it was released on video. I still have it on VHS, and my tapes are starting to wear out.

Also the entire Star Wars saga. The computer room is actually my Star Wars room, full of figures, books, posters, and my prized possession, a never used Yoda Head Bong. But even with all of this stuff, I can honestly say Twilight is in a league all its own. I still love my Star Wars, and get excited when I see something cool to add to my collection, but Twilight is just...I don't know...to be totally cliche, it really does take my breath away.

I am surprised so many of you were able to watch Titanic multiple times at the movies, it was such a long movie!;)

OT, I have a funny Titanic story. DH and I didn't see it when it first came out. After all the hype we were curious and went to go see it. I was 2 weeks away from my due date, I was pregnant with my DD. I wanted so badly to give birth for days I was walking all over, doing a bunch of different "old wives tales" to try to bring on labor, and nothing worked. So DH and I go to the movies and I bring my pillow and tissues cause I knew it was long and a tear jerker. Well, I cried like a baby during that movie. In the middle of the night my water broke! So we always tell everyone that the emotional stress of Titanic brought on my labor!:rotfl:

That bothered me too!!!! Even if it I lived in the sunniest place in the US I wouldn't leave my window down.

It also bothered me in the books and the movie that they would just ditch school and the school never noticed. I keep thinking in my head - how can this be when people can't take their kids out of school to go to Disney World and they are just leaving school whenever they want. Don't they take attendance at Forks High School? :confused3

i lent out my books to people i see almost everyday and know my books are being taken care of. i also take off the jackets when i loan them.

i am usually the person borrowing books, i rarely buy a book, so i'm glad to return the favor.

it never occurred to me to be bothered by the ditching, especially because they have perfect grades. when the weather was especially nice here and it wasn't tennis season for me i wouldn't go to school either. you'd see me at the beach or even disneyland. we would see people all the time ditching from school. once smashing pumpkins filmed a video in town on a school day, i don't know anyone that went to school that day, we were all mud people for the day instead :woohoo:

Times are different these days. My youngest sister is a sr in HS. (I graduated 25 years ago.) She had problems with undiagnosed asthma last year and missed a lot of school. She is a straight-A student and my parents got a letter that if she missed any more school, they'd send a truant officer to the house for my parents. When she talked to the school, they advised her that it is policy to send those letters and she needed to have every one of my sister's absences authorized by her dr. So, that's what my parents had to do.

So, I don't think that schools would take kindly to ditching school even by geniuses if they became excessive.

I just thought of something. Now that all of the Cullens are paired off, do you think they will claim to be homeschooled if/when they move again?

I don't think that an adolescent girl would be good for Jane because Jane can't age, and she has to be present for the next three movies.

What they need to do is cast a short adult actress with a youthful face. I'm 4'10" and have played roles as young as 7 in my college productions. I teach elementary and frequently get mistaken for a kid by substitutes (at an elementary school!), so I know it's possible to find somebody who isn't going to grow or age dramatically the way a pubescent girl would.

so in other words you think you should be Jane...well I will need a head and body shot of you in order to make that call...because as you know Im head of casting for this next movie:rotfl:

Here we go. Finally finished my video. Just a warning, the video contains actual footage from the movie, so if you don't want to be spoiled, don't watch. The music is the instrumental of Kissing You from Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet.

CP I loved the video...good job:thumbsup2

I seriously feel like one of those "Trekkie" weirdos ( no offense if anyone here is one!) that dress up in the outfits and walk around talking in Klingon.

Are we going to be going to Twilight conventions in 20 years all dressed like Bella and Alice???

Im going to be Jane!!

4 times. popcorn::

BTW, I didn't introduce myself because it's in my siggy anyway, but... Hi, my name is Gail, and I'm a TwiHard. My birthday is the same as Bella's (September 13th), and I live 102 miles from Forks as the crow flies, or as Edward runs/swims, although it would take about three or four hours this human girl to get there, if I took a ferry and drove around. I did visit there a couple of weeks ago while weekending at the beach with DH for his birthday.

ROAD TRIP TO AVALONS HOUSE:woohoo: hope you have an extra bed gf:lmao:

4 times for me.

My husband is very understanding of my love for this movie. He even bought me the CD. Gotta love him. It's gotten a little crazy for me. I was doing laundry and found $10 and thought, ya I can go see the movie before the kids get out of school! I had never read the books before going to see the movie. A friend of mine asked if I wanted to go with a bunch of ladies. So
I went just for the fun of it and left totally in love. I bought all the books and read them in a week. Even my kids would say "Starting a new book mom? See ya tommorrow. We know where the frozen burritos are."

BTW me name is Tami

aww at least they have frozen burritos to eat...some kids only get cereal Ive heard:rotfl2:

haha thats hecka funny...when I went to see Titanic I knew about the ship going down but not much more than that...I went to see it with my mom and aunt because it was on my moms bday and when it got to the scene where they were on that wooden door and he was freezing in the water...omg I started bawling...my heart was breaking little by little...it got so bad that when it was over i had to go into the restroom to try and compose myself for like 15 minutes....and then I was making dinner for my mom and the whole rest of the day I was so depressed I just wanted to be alone...it sucked royally!! Ive never had a movie that made me feel that way before or since...after it came out on video I bought it and it never made me feel like that again but sheesh....

it never occurred to me to be bothered by the ditching, especially because they have perfect grades. when the weather was especially nice here and it wasn't tennis season for me i wouldn't go to school either. you'd see me at the beach or even disneyland. we would see people all the time ditching from school. once smashing pumpkins filmed a video in town on a school day, i don't know anyone that went to school that day, we were all mud people for the day instead :woohoo:

same here...and its not like he needed school for a career anyways:laughing:
