I can just imagine all the younger Twilight fans sitting there thinking what is this old fogey doing asking all these stupid questions.

The younger fans have way too many issues for you to worry about their opinion about you having fun with a great story! In the words of the GREAT and WONDERFUL Auntie Mame (Played by Rosalind Russel, NOT Lucy, though I do love Lucy) Live, Live, Live! And also, "Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death."

lol She thinks it will be boring and dumb because I tried to entice her with the trailer and she saw the kissing part. :scared1: She likes no kissing of any kind.

I so recommend you leave her in the dust and see it yourself. You may really be sorry that you have a dud with you. (no offense to your wonderful, DD though, I swear!)

Thanks for posting the links... for some reason they had college football playing instead of her show. ...

OK - my reaction to this... first- HEY the boys are on together- HOW COOL!! They play well off each other, it should be good... and then it was all about TYRA and her stupid accent and having her bite his neck. Tacky.

Then the girls.....so excited for them when the boys came out.. but WTH on making them EAT PIE???? How about a trivia contest, or about what other things the guys have done... geesh, tacky!

Totally! UGH!

I need to see it again....it's been way too many days. :sad2:

First off: we "mature" Twilight fans have just as much right to see it as the younger set:hippie: I've seen it twice, both times alone and enjoyed myself tremendously. DD was going with her colllege friends to a later show the one time and the other time I just went after work. Never did I feel weird...I am a movie junkie and have no qualms about seeing a show by myself:cool1: The DVD set will be awesome when it's completed its run: can you imagine all the extras it will have;)
Second: DD and I thought Tyra Banks was totally off the mark in her interview with Jacob and Edward yesterday. she would ask them a question, then run off her mouth, get in a personal plug, go on to another subject so quickly that you could see they had trouble understanding what she was saying. I have a BFF from work who is from the UK and even though she's been in the states for a few years, she still has trouble understanding all the slang and when I talk fast. You can tell these actors are new to all the media attention and IMHO Tyra totally massacred the opportunity:scared1: and what's her deal? she let Robert bite her neck but didn't want anyone to touch each other:confused3 Personally I'd like to see a calmer Oprah-type session with the entire cast and author:love: Tyra was terrible!:headache:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I am putting my Mommy foot down tomorrow. She really wanted to see it till they smooched. puckerup:

I told her to bring her DS and keep the sound down. I plan on hitting an early matinee. Her father is mia or I would schedule some father-daughter time, but that would also entail kicking and screaming. (On her part, not us!) :rotfl:

I just had to share this, it was too cute to keep to myself.

My mom called me at work on Thursday to ask if I was planning on going to see Twilight again any time soon, since she was dying to see it again. She was going to go to a matinee by herself and she is not the type to go to a movie by herself. I almost cried, I thought it was just the cutest thing. She's almost as obsessed as I am now, and my mom doesn't get obsessed.

Needless to say, we made plans to go see it again last night, and I enjoyed it just as much, if not more the second time around. It was great to sit back and just take in the background, and breathe. I know I forgot to breathe more than once during the first viewing.

Does she realize that this is grounds for disowning her? ;)

Oh, she knows. :rotfl:

GF... go by yourself! it's great! You can quietly ooh and ahh and not have to explain things in asides to the people who don't get it. You can hold your breath during the kissing scene and not have somebody look at you like you're insane.
I know! I went by myself on wednesday and it was quite relaxing! But I promised the sis I would go with her...

Thanks, I should pull mine out and re-read it. I am reading the series over again but I just finished New Moon (which I borrowed from my 13 year old neighbor :rotfl: ) and now I'm waiting for my box set to get here so I can continue on.

I don't have the first three books so I can't re-read. (sigh) I only bought the fourth one.

How long do you have to wait??

I own the first book (softcover) but my darling DS17 & DS15 had it in DS17's car and spilled a Slurpee all over it. When I first read them, I borrowed the books that I didn't have from my neighbor, not realizing how addicted I'd become. I found the box set on Amazon and bought it a couple of days ago. It should be here by the middle of next week. In the meantime, after much prodding, my DH and two sons started reading the first one in various stages. Two out of the three new readers are ready for NM, one is only partially through Twilight. (Are you keeping up with this? I'm sure you're sorry you even asked.... :rotfl: ). DD8 and I are going to read Twilight together over Christmas break. In the mean time, everyone here has seen the movie at least twice, some of us three times. I need another fix though, NOW. :lmao:

On a side note, DH also bought me the Twilight Companion: The Unauthorized Guide to the Series by Lois Gresh. It is HORRIBLE. I can't stomach reading past the first couple of pages. Totally lame.

Wow, that's alotta Twi-guys! I love it!

Good to know... the Illustrated MOVIE Companion is really good, IMHO.

I saw it for the last time before it comes out on DVD (gotta start saving money and movies are expensive.) It gets better every time. I was thinking about how weird it is they have this insanely long montage of Bella's Lullaby- but they never explain the significance of it! If you read the book you get it, but those who have not have no clue why it is so special he is playing for her.

Another part that will be lost on anybody who has not read the book is when Edward growls at the men in Port Angeles. It's so low you almost cannot hear it. I only heard it because I knew what was going on. I hope they have better sound effects for the next movie. The growls in the book are described as being almost lion-esque, what little you could hear in the movie was weak and and not intimidating at all.

I really do love the relationship between Alice and Jasper- they got the chemistry right! I just wish the heights were closer to the real thing. According to the Lexicon, Alice is 4'10" and Jasper is 6'3". She should come up to about his chest. I know this because I am Alice's height and my boyfriend is 6'4". I was kind of looking forward to another couple like us on the screen. The books say over and over how tiny Alice is, and this is the reason Bella is terrified for her in book 3. I love the actress, I just wish the height was closer to the books.

yeah my friend bought it right after we saw the premiere...I havent read it but I skimmed through it...I also went and saw the movie today again  I noticed this the last time I saw it but I forgot to mention anything and when I saw it again today(4th time) I made myself remember it...Nobody has said anything but did you guys notice how during lunch at the school emmett is chewing???:rotfl: and my dd pointed out something to me today...when bella comes to in the hospital and her mom is hovering over her...did you guys happen to notice whats playing on the tv in the background?????? its the entire fight scene when the rest of the clan show up to get James...shows them prancing around the fire and everything...I was really surprised when I saw it but its there plain as day:confused3 I also rechecked what everyone was talking about in regards to Edward mouthing I love you to Bella when she was in the car and yeah no he didnt say I love you...he was just moving his mouth...anybody else notice anything different that hasnt been talked about on here??? Shoot we're going to have to open a whole new thread because we're almost at 250 pages and the mods will close it.....:scared:

Lynn,

Oh nooo... not the closers! :scared:

I had read about the chewing and drinking I hadn't noticed the hospital scene with the TV :happytv: !! Good eye!

What I did notice (I also moved from a sunny place (Las Vegas) to the rainy, wet BOONDOCKS (Coos Bay, OR - Forks' Oregon cousin) at a young and sensitive age and I noticed the rainy, muddy driveway scene where she slips and gets right up and has nothin' on her bum! HA! double HA!

Not so much.

Eyeore's Butterfly,

I've never made a movie but it seems like they made the movie for the book readers. The non-book readers well... they should go read the book. (and I don't mean that in a sarcastic/cocky way I'm just saying that cause it's a fun book!)

Yea, I know.. lots of people saw the movie without reading it and liked it and some didn't and some..well ... we get the idea. But it seemed alot (to me) like that movie was made specifically for those who read the book. Even so far as to put in winks and a nods to stuff that could only be understood if you had read Midnight Sun. I dunno. I'm not really up on reading book and seeing movies so maybe there could have been lots of ways to make it better for those who didn't read the book. That may be the toughest thing about seeing a movie and not having read the book is that you know and so you analyze.

I feel like there have been movies that there was not a book and I remember thinking, "I should read that book. I can tell that there were things I was missin' :scratchin "

And Avalon!

Oy! I know what you're gettin' for Christmas next year! (like you could wait that long for the DVD, but still!) I'm glad you're having fun! I won't tell... :ssst:

Are there still alot of solo viewers in the audience? How do you get by that preview for The Unborn??? Ouch.. I'm still in pain from my goose-bumped liver.
