Speaking of British Accents... You know what else I figured out that bothered me about Rob?? It's that his British accent is sexy and lush and his American one is icky. I wish they would have just made him Edward from London. Who woulda cared???? :confused3

EDIT: LCTsMom and Spongie!,
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the little smiley's! If I get bored enough I'll work on some more! lol

So I was watching the Tyra interview on my poor man's tivo-Youtube-and she really annoyed me. First she made my bf Rob bite her neck, and he was clearly shocked. But he did it. :rotfl2:
THEN making those poor girls stuff their faces in the pies in front of Rob and Taylor??? "We are giving you the greatest moment of you life, and by the way, we are going to totally mortify you beyond belief."

WTH???

I agree with you all about the Tyra thing. Yuck! It made me like her even less. Blech! Pitiful! :sad2:

Thanks for posting this! I completely forgot that they were and slept right through it. I haven't watched it yet though, I'm at work still, but it sounds terrible from what everyone else has said. I used to like Tyra but she seems kind of...uh, crazy? And the crazy seems to be getting worse. Or maybe its just me :confused3

Poor Rob. They did not give him any voice training to perfect the American accent- he had to do it all on his own. That said, it did give him a slightly different cadence/inflection which I really liked. One of Edward's distinguishing features is his voice. The slight formality to Edward's inflection was probably due to Rob's accent, and I think it really helped make the character. I liked it, but to each their own.

I liked his accent too. I thought of it as more old-school American, to fit with his very old age, as opposed to just a not quite right American accent by an English person. His language was always very proper in the books too.

Tyra's interviews are so ridiculous! She had a sex talk (like a parent to a child) to some rapper one time. I like AMNT but NOT the tyra show. And I barely like her in the tyra show. Why do people continue to guest star on her show?

i just watched the two clips CP provided and that is the first time i have ever seen the tyra show (i have never seen her model show either)...she is strange, what was with the bad british accent??

rob and taylor seemed very nice, especially to the poor girls.

on a side note, i am just obsessed with rob. i was in west hollywood tonight and decided to cruise sunset to the freeway and drove very slowly past the chateau marmont when i noticed a small crowd. had i seen rob stumble out i could have offered him a ride home :rolleyes1. i'm nuts i tell ya!

I can just imagine if he had a british accent! Everyone would go CRAZY!!! I mean, they make it pretty clear he wanted to join the war efforts and his mother didn't want him to. While I do like his regular voice and accent I thought he did a good job.

I liked the accent too. A lot of people have said it reminded them of James Dean and that's what I kinda think too.

I'm not a Tyra watcher either, but do you think that it was an honest mistake that they displayed "Taylor Lautner" and "Edward Pattinson" under the two actors, or was it on purpose?

I did not even notice that. I do know that I am seeing this movie today come hell or high water....or a cranky 11 year old.

Ugh! :sad2: It figures! (I didn't notice that either. I'm sure it was a mistake. Now I know why I don't watch that show!)

Grrr...I was supossed to be watching the movie with my sister today but she just called to cancel. Now I have to wait 'till tomorrow... :(

Finally got to see Twilight. Went with DH and youngest DD. I admit I really enjoyed it. Not to offend anyone but IMO they could of picked someone better to play Bella. I pictured someone different after reading the book.

DD thinks I am nuts cause IMO I think Rob Patterson looks better as a vampire then as himself. As himself he looks dirty, and grungy. He was quite good looking as a vampire.

I am reading the second book as I mentioned. Was up until 2:30 this morning reading it and hoping for Edward to return. Sure hope he does soon cause so far the book is really dragging for me. Someone tell me he does comes back sooner or later. I feel so bad for Bella.

I can just imagine all the younger Twilight fans sitting there thinking what is this old fogey doing asking all these stupid questions.

lol....Welcom to the obsession that is Twilight. DD doesn't want to go to the movie so I am trying flat out bribery and will quickly escalate to "because I said so" if need be. She thinks it will be boring and dumb because I tried to entice her with the trailer and she saw the kissing part. :scared1: She likes no kissing of any kind.

And maybe Edward does come back maybe he doesn't...you'll just have to keep reading!! Just remember, there are 2 more books left!!!

Thanks for posting the links... for some reason they had college football playing instead of her show. ...

OK - my reaction to this... first- HEY the boys are on together- HOW COOL!! They play well off each other, it should be good... and then it was all about TYRA and her stupid accent and having her bite his neck. Tacky.

Then the girls.....so excited for them when the boys came out.. but WTH on making them EAT PIE???? How about a trivia contest, or about what other things the guys have done... geesh, tacky! Happy the girl got the car... she will VERY popular in her hometown... she better lock it up at night!!

GF... go by yourself! it's great! You can quietly ooh and ahh and not have to explain things in asides to the people who don't get it. You can hold your breath during the kissing scene and not have somebody look at you like you're insane. :rotfl:

I went by myself the third time without telling ANYBODY, and they still don't know-- DD13 would kill me for going without her, and DH would be seriously worried about my sanity. He thought I was crazy for seeing it a second time.

I teach morning kindergarten, and the local theatre was running it at 12:15, which gave me just enough time to grab some popcorn and miss the Harry Potter preview before I sat down. Then it was done a half hour before I was due to pick up the kids at school. :thumbsup2 I feel like such a sneak. :rotfl2:
