I knew I could count on you ladies for the trailer!

I saw The Dark Knight tonight (which was absolutely amazing, go out and see it!) and I was told there was a Twilight preview beforehand-- but they swapped it out for another preview! I was furious!

But all is well again, now that I've seen it.

Yep - there was a rumor about the Twilight trailer showing up before Batman but I haven't heard of anyone seeing it yet. I still haven't caught the small teaser trailer at the theater yet and we've been to a ton of movies this summer.

By the way how was The Dark Knight? I plan on seeing this on Monday. I heard that Heath is excellent in it. I can't wait to see this one.

The Dark Knight was incredible. I don't even think I can do it justice. It was honestly the best superhero movie I've ever seen. There were so many great action sequences, and twists to this movie. The theme was much darker also. But the most stand out performance of the movie was definitely Heath Ledger's Joker. His character was so creepy and unsettling. There could not have been a more perfect version of this Joker. I told someone last night that if he doesn't at least get an Oscar nomination, that I'm never going to the movies again.

I'll probably go see it again later this week during the day, the midnight showing crowd were too rowdy. And hopefully I will see the Twilight preview on the big screen.

There is one thing that bothers me ... and I played it about 10 times and then sort of went frame-by-frame (moving the cursor slowly) to see if I had it right. In the scene after James says "You brought a snack", there's Bella's truck (looks like Edward and Bella are in it) and Emmett's jeep behind them driving down the road. Was that James jumping on the back of Bella's truck!?

Did that happen in the book? Refresh my memory. I gave my copy to my niece (who lives in Tacoma!) when she came to visit.

I saw it today too and I LOVED IT! Great movie!!!!! I was hoping for a Harry Potter trailer but no luck.

If they stay true to the book that would actually be Emmett jumping on the back of Bella's truck.

I think it's the part where she's just had the big scene with Charlie, and she runs through the dark yard to her truck..feeling paranoid that James is out there.

She's really jumpy and nervous and can barely drive so Edward kind of pulls
her over him, and slips into the divers seat.

When she feels/hears someone jump on the back of the truck she starts
screaming because she thinks that it's James, and Edward tell her that it's OK..it's just Emmett.

I believe at this point Alice is driving the jeep..though..I'm not positive on that point. I don't have my book either.

Yep...you're right. I just finished Twilight again and that's exactly what that scene was.

I've read so many books and the movies weren't ever 100% book.

So, I expect a few things to be different.

The trailer none the less is just great and really gets me anxious to see the movie again.

haha I did too...and every time a new preview started my heart beat out of my chest thinking this is it and it never happened...what a flippin letdown I was going to hoot and holler when it came on but alas I never got to show my OCD

In one of the trailers or sneak peeks Edward calls Bella a little spidermonkey. Is that anywhere in the books? I've tried to find it. I feel weird when I hear him say that...and not in a good way.



(If anyone has seen that strange Fred guy on youtube, he uses the phrase spidermonkey and when Edward says it I think of Fred...not a good mixture!)

No..it's not in the book at all. Personally I don't have a problem with it..but then again..I've never seen Youtube Fred either!

Is it a British thing? I only ask because Matt called Shayne 'Monkey' on the Bachelor. I thought that perhaps, Rob ad-libbed that line and the Director kept it in the final shot. Personally, I would have cut it out, too. I don't like it as a term of endearment.

Plus, in Belle's situation, she gets sick when Edward runs with her and is hardly an agile person. It just doesn't fit.

I suggested this series to my BFF from HS a few weeks ago for her and her DD (11). Unfortunately, in that time, her DH was diagnosed with MS, so she is reading up on that right now and can't start Twilight.

Her DD, OTOH, has read it 3 times in 2 weeks. My friend thinks her DD is deranged. I told her that is the average number of times one reads Twilight when they first get it.
