So happy to see so many new people join this thread! I guess it's nice to see I'm not alone in my love for this series.

Some one asked when the movie is, it opens on Dec. 12th. Hopefully our local theater will have it midnight on Dec. 11th. My DSIS and myself will be there!!! We just put a hold on Breaking Dawn at Barns and Nobel so we can get it at the midnight release party on Aug. 1st. The party starts at 10pm and we will be there with our Team Edward shirts on!!LOL

I prefer to run in the other direction.

My friends are trying to get me to read them, because they know I'll like the series, but I just don't want to.

Hi all! I wanted to join in here. After much gnashing of teeth (***must not get into another series where I count the days of the next book***), I finally broke down and bought Twilight. :faint: I AM IN LOVE!!!! I read the book in two days (darn work and school got in the way). Then I had off this week, so on Monday I bought New Moon and Eclipse, and read then both in one day each. I tried really hard to read slowly so I can draw out until August - yeah, that didn't happen. :rotfl2:

I keep shaking my head though, I shouldn't be in love with a fictional character - I'm 31! My first fictional love is Jareth, the Goblin King (Labyrinth). I'm still waiting for a man to move the stars for me! And now, I am going to be waiting for someone like Edward! :lovestruc I might be single forever!

Can someone tell what the blazes the "Breaking Dawn concert series" is??

Also, after having just finished the exerpt from Midnight Sun, I came to a startling revelation that I believe is true. During Twilight, Edward is questioning Bella constantly, like the spanish inquisition (favorite color, flower, old pets, teachers movies books etc)...It dawned on me that I think the reason he is asking her so much is A) to remind himself that she is a person so he'll be less likely to kill her and B) to help distract him from the notion of killing her.

Creepy...hope she gets to finish Midnight Sun.

It would be cool to have a shirt that says....forget prince charming, i'm looking for my Edward.

I have a good friend who is much too young, he's read the books too, and i often ask him why my edward is so young. :goodvibes Well last night he told me I was his Bella. awwwwww.

Now to find someone who is my age and thinks i'm their bella. hahaha

Twilight is the first book I ever read more than once. I never saw the point before. It reads like a good movie. You know, the one that you'll watch no matter what else is on TV.

I've got a question about Twilight. I've put it in white so I don't spoil anything for anyone.

Why, in the ballet studio, when Edward relieves Bella of the venom, did it not spread as fast as the morphine? He tells Carlisle that he believes that he got all of it because he can taste the morphine.

Is that something that I'm just supposed to believe without question?

On another note, I've been asking everyone that I meet if they like to read and if they've read Twilight. This morning, at the grocery store, the cashier lets out a yelp and says that she's reading Eclipse now and she's trying to get her mother to read it but her mother says she's too old. I told her to tell her that I'm old like she is and I loved it. Hopefully, that will convert her mother. I also told her about twilightmoms.com.

We had a very nice conversation and we both agreed that Edward needs to win and he needs to bite Bella in Breaking Dawn.

Okay-I am not reading this thread because I don't want to read any spoilers, but just wanted to let you know I started this book while on vacation this week. I didn't get too far because we were so busy, but I had to chance to get in a few chapters today. I am really enjoying it (and an adult reading it). It is perfect for the summer.....off to read more!!

I hope it doesn't end with the bite though. I'm hoping it will skip ahead in time and show us what Bella is like as a vampire. I wonder if she will have special powers and if so what they will be.

I hope Jacob has a happy ending too, that he imprints on someone likeable.

I'd like that ending, too.

OK, I have another question.

Since the Cullens never age, presumably, they can only stay in one place for so long. Would they retain the name Cullen, or would they change it as they move on so that no one would hear their names and recognize the family only to find that they haven't changed a bit?

If so, the fact that the movie sites are saying that there is a Cullen Crest bug me. If they are no longer Cullens, why the need for a crest, unless it is universally used by them no matter what last name they choose?

I watched Jumper last night with my DS. Hayden Christensen could DEFINITELY be Edward. He had the brooding, "I want to tell you, but I can't stare" down perfectly.

Okay I have been reading these and I am almost finished with Eclipse....I am so inticed by these books.

I really like Jacob too... I feel sorry that he and Bells will never be more than friends.

Is it just me or is Edward a little to overprotective/overbearing and maybe a little bossey of Bells???? IMHO

Answer in white: I think it's because the venom is thicker. It takes 3 days (give or take) for the transformation to fully occur because the venom is slow moving and transforms the blood. Morphine is much thinner and is distributed throughout the body faster and is not trying to change anything in the body (except pain receptors of course). Thank goodness it doesn't take morphine 3 days to kick in!

That's my guess anyway.

In one of the videos released Rob looks EXACTLY like Hayden Christensen. I'd like Hayden better as Edward as he is not as skinny and slight as Rob Pattensen. In my head Edward has more of a rock hard body :)

Terry, I agree that Edward is a little overbearing in Eclipse, but I think he's reacting to her possibly getting killed, so I can forgive and get past it. However, on rereading Eclipse I want to smack Bella. What part of deadly vampire does she not get. I'm at the point in the book where she's arguing that Edward can't leave her, and she has to be in the clearing during the vampire/warewolf war. She's behaving like a whiny teenager which I guess is what she is supposed to be.....

And, there was a mention in Eclipse of a Midsummer Nights Dream referencing how its similar to what happens when the wolves imprint. Hmmmmm, what does that tell us about Breaking Dawn.

I've just found this series/book collection, and I have to say...Stephenie Meyer is quite the fantastic author. I read the first three books in three days. :) I can't wait for the movie, though, I don't think the main character, Edward, is going to be portrayed quite accurately through His actor.

I can't wait for "Breaking Dawn".

Edward and Bella are my new favorite couple! :P

This is exactly what I think, too. When I was watching Christensen, I kept thinking that he had the face and body of an "Edward."

Thanks, Froggygrrrl, for your explanation. That seems very plausible.

I agree that Edward seems overprotective and overbearing, but Bella is so fragile in comparision. I find the fact that he loves her unconditionally to be too much to resist. I'd take it. Plus he is handsome! :cool1:
