Can someone tell what the blazes the "Breaking Dawn concert series" is??

Also, after having just finished the exerpt from Midnight Sun, I came to a startling revelation that I believe is true. During Twilight, Edward is questioning Bella constantly, like the spanish inquisition (favorite color, flower, old pets, teachers movies books etc)...It dawned on me that I think the reason he is asking her so much is A) to remind himself that she is a person so he'll be less likely to kill her and B) to help distract him from the notion of killing her.

Creepy...hope she gets to finish Midnight Sun.

The Breaking Dawn concert series is a Stephenie Meyer book signing, Q & A event with the lead singer from Blue October performing. For the NYC event the book will be released at midnight so everyone ie getting a book plate the she will sign. I tried desperately to get tickets but couldn't. They sold for $20, sold out in minutes and are now going for $600+ on Ebay!

I love Twilight Tuesday. :goodvibes And I love their choice for Mike -- that's just how he looked in my head!

ok so im going to totally:tiptoe: around this because if I say it too loud it might come back and bite me in the butt...my dd who is 21, is totally opposite of me...im a dreamer, romantic and sensitive...and shes well shes not...shes totally realistic and wont even let herself daydream, and shes very sarcastic plus she never had that one true love romance in high school...she just dated.. so its hard for her to relate...anyway when I was telling her and my aunt about these books they both laughed at me and I felt about an inch tall...but i got over it...I know there are ALOT of people who feel the way i do about them so screw them:lmao: anyways, I was looking on here last night and going on some of the links and she was:listen: ;) so she picked up the book and started reading it...now I dont know how she is going to feel about it but Im hopeful...shes annoyed with edward already:lmao: that he keeps saying hes not good for her and then coming back and shes annoyed with bella for being a "whiner" as she calls it:rolleyes2 but she hasnt stopped reading...:rolleyes1 ...fingers crossed:hyper:

Good luck, Lynn! I am trying very hard to get someone else into these books too. My oldest stepdaughter was very excited to read Twilight-she got to page 144 and stopped reading because she's been saying goodbye to her boyfriend since then -he's leaving for the Coast Guard and they're trying to maximize their time together. I am really anxious for her to pick it up again. One of the women that I work with just left on vacation and took a copy of Twilight with her-I just keep telling people that I think it's cheesy in a way (all the angst of "oh he's too beautiful for me") but that the story is really compelling and Stephenie really captures relationships well. I actually felt like I was grieving for Jacob after Eclipse :sad1: .
Let us know how she makes out with Twilight!

New Moon became available at the library yesterday. I got the email saying I could pick it up and so DD and I did that on the way to an early 4th of July picnic. I started reading when I got home and I read 120 pages before going to bed. My kids are going to be mad at me. :) IDK, the jury is still out on NM. Some have said that it's not as good as the others. So far, I'm in that camp, but I still have 400 pages or so to go.

NM is by far the weakest of the series in my opinion.

Disneegirl4eva: I agree with you rdaughter. I have MAJOR issues with some of the characters in the book, but I can't stop reading. I am very compelled by the story but I have spent a good amount of time complaining to DH about how annoying some of it is.

I have trouble getting others to start the series too. I have had one girl I work with read the first chapter, the ironic part is her daugher, 15, loves the series!

I agree that NM is the weakest of the series.

My thoughts on New Moon, is it's basically a crucial bridge to Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

You can either view Bella as whiny or tormented. Remember her age, despite her "old spirit" and general maturity level.

Hugely important background information and characterization are presented too.

So, I say just appreciate it as the doorway to Eclipse and Breaking Dawn

Happy (early) 4th of July, Book-Clubettes!!!!! :cool1:

I agree. I must say that when I first read New Moon I was a little bored. I still think it's the least re-readable of the three books, but I also think it sets up Breaking Dawn the best. I've grown to appreciate it more. And it does have its moments.

You are 100% correct. NM is the doorway to the end. :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!

My husband and I are new here. He sent me here saying they had a discussion about the Twilight series! OME - I love this series! Don't tell DH, but I'm in love w/Carlisle Cullen! I know he's not in the books much but I fell in love w/him during the hospital after the car crash scene!

I would love a book just on Carlisle/Cullen Family alone ... what he went through before finding Edward, then Esme, etc.

Whoever posted that crest ... wow ... that is just so cool! I would love to have the ring or the brooch! It would be fun to wear, eh?

And, Utahmom, you have it right on NM being the "bridge" to Eclipse. While it was my least favorite of the three, it did serve its purpose.

I'm in the process of "revamping" the books before the release of BD. For once, we won't be in Disney for a big book release! We were in Disney for the last 3 Harry Potter book releases! I'm hoping (although I'm a 40-something mom) that one of our local book stores will have a Prom!
