I enjoyed BD, but then, I liked the subtle posturing/maneuvering that made up the big "fight scene". I know some would rather have liked an actual fight, but for me it was perfect.
It is a long book with a lot of twists and turns. And really, it could be two different books: Everything leading up to Renesmee's birth, and the stuff that comes after. There is a natural break there, so I could see why they would do it that way.
It will be a hard book to make into a movie. It's either going to be very good- or completely suck. A lot of the first part is slow and is more character development than action, and that will be hard to bring to the silver screen and still hold the audience.
I like the books. They are good for what they are- a mindless enjoyment. They are not good literature by any means, but who says that every single book out there has to be a classic? I feel Dan Brown's are the same way. They are enjoyable reads (and all have the same plot line, just different details), but they are not good literature. I'm okay with that. Sometimes you just want to relax and have fun.
