Twilight finale split into two movies

Two movies is a MUST!!! If you enjoy the series as much as I do then you know why, if you don't like it well then you just won't get it.

I really believe that Stewart would not have been hired in the role if they had realized it would be big enough for them to continue for the series. I have to wonder if Rob Pat may have done better with a more experienced and talented actress to work against. I don't really like him personally, but I have heard that some of his other work is pretty good. Then again, it may just be the writing that he has to deal with...

I agree. She's like a wet dish rag, just hanging there. My sister and I have said numerous times that we feel bad for Robert Pattinson having to act opposite her. His acting is good, actually the whole cast is good except for Kristen. Her facial expressions and body language are decent but when she speaks, oh man, it's bad acting. She physically looks the part as Bella which makes me think that's why they chose her in the first place.

In the minority, I cant wait for Eclipse and will also be looking forward to seeing Breaking Dawn broken into 2 movies, I LOVE the books, agree they are not liteary pieces and agree that the way Bella is obsessed with Edward is not helathy but I still LOVE the series!!! With that being said I am currently reading "the short second life of bree tanner" a spin off from Eclipse and its not doing it for me...

I read all the books when DH was in the hospital with brain cancer, sitting next to his bed.
They served their purpose, kept me distracted. They were an easy read and kept me interested enough to keep reading them.
But I did LOL a lot in places LOLing wasn't intended. :goodvibes
When I saw the movie with dd and her friends, I laughed so much throughout, dd was embarrassed.
My favorite really, really bad acting scene in the first movie, was Bella in the hospital talking to Edward about him leaving her. Uh eh uh uh eh uh uh NO. EDWARD. DONT. LEAVE. or something along those lines. I got the giggles and couldn't stop.
I am looking forward to all of the movies, as many as they want to make because they entertain me. Maybe not in the way they intended, but that's okay. :thumbsup2

I LOVE the Twilight books, movies, actors, actresses, storyline, plot...

But I'll give you that. That was a bad scene. :lmao: I noticed that, too.

ETA: I am SO sorry to hear your husband had cancer.

Thank you. He's in remission and doing well!

I loved the books (read them last summer, they were great reading in the lounge chair by the lake) and have enjoyed the movies.

Kristen Stewart may not be an oscar winning actress but I think she portrays Bella well. So much of knowing Bella in the books is knowing what is going on in her mind, that is a bit hard on screen. I think Kristen comes across really well as Bella. Bella is not exactly dripping with confidence (hence the dependency on Edward) and Kristen shows that pretty well.

Dd is a HUGE Taylor Lautner fan (what can I say? the girl has good taste!) and so is counting down the days to Eclipse. We enjoyed seeing the last one together and I think we will enjoy this one more.

Honestly, I realize I am in the minority but I REALLY like Kristen Stewart as Bella. Bella is awkward, weird, pretty but not gorgeous... all of these things I think are key parts of Bella and I think Kristen plays them well. She also looks how I would picture Bella, except for the face- I just didn't picture a face. But I pictured her with long, dark hair and on the skinny side.

As for other casting, the only other person I think is perfect is Ashley Greene as Alice. Maybe she could be shorter but I think she has the right look and plays the right personality for Alice.

What I wish was different is Jackson Rathbone as Jasper... he really just creeps me out. And Nikki Reed who I think it absolutely gorgeous as a brunette, doesn't really pull off the Rosalie beauty as a blonde, her features are too dark where it kind looks weird.

Everyone else is OK to me. I think Mary Louise Parker would have interesting as Esme but I still like Elizabeth Reaser as Esme.

As for Breaking Dawn going into two movies, I think it's dumb. I just don't think there's enough stuff to make a decent (in terms of amount of content) movie.

The funny thing is that most fans of the series feel the 4th book was the WORST of the series, so that's the one they're going to give the detailed treatment to? :confused3

That book barely deserves one movie, let alone two. I disliked the whole series, but my 2-year-old nephew has scribbled in his coloring books with more sense than Stephanie Meyer wrote in that disaster of a book.

I agree. The other person I feel is perfect for his role is Billy Burke as Charlie.

The one actor I have the most problem with is Robert Pattinson. He is Edward to me. Edward is supposed to be gorgeous and smooth. Pattinson's portrayal is neither.

I liked Breaking Dawn. It is Eclipse that would be my least favorite of the series.

I'll be honest. I'm more than a bit curious to see how they are going to pull of a few scenes. The very idea of them was so outlandish (even in a fiction book) so as to be nearly unbelievable, so I am interested to see if they'll attempt it on the big screen. For example (hidden in white below):

The birth of the baby. Nothing I'd like to see more than Rpbert Pattinson chew a baby out of Kristen Stewart's womb.

The baby itself. I never bought her description of Renes...whatever her name was. It was so awful I blocked it out.

Jacob imprinting on the baby. It was creepy and gross in the book, wonder how they'll mak eit workon screen. Of course, very little "worked" on screen thusfar, so maybe this is just par for the course.

Yes, I think the first scene you mention would be particularly difficult.

...Having said that, the movies are horrible even compared to the books. WHY they want to waste the time and money to split this book up is beyond me. There is just not enough meat to this book to make two movies.

...say it WITH me: cha-CHING!

Because the books are such masterpieces! :rotfl2: And the first film wa so well recieved by the film industry! :lmao:

I'm the first to say that film critics are pretentious idiots (and they were quite right about Twilight)...BUT, these films made stupid money. So making more of them is, like the movie and book, a no-brainer.

Maybe not but it makes her the perfect Bella. Like a pp said, she really is Bella and fits the book's description perfectly.

I agree with the poster that said the girl playing Alice is perfect for her part. She is just so cute as Alice and has that bouncy personality you expect.

The actor I dislike the most in the movies is Robert Pattinson. He seems to be one of those actors that will forever play the same part--just in different stories. His looks carry him far more than his talent.

I don't think these books will ever reach classic standard nor do I think the movies will reach the status of some of the greats; but it is good for what it is.

These books, movies and all the stuff that goes with them are making someone a pretty penny so I would say that quite a few someones out there seem to like them.

I have wondered too how they will pull off that last book and not make some of those scenes absolutely revolting, but I have heard that they may have an R rating. I think that will be movie suicide as these movies are very popular with the under 17 crowd. IMHO, after the baby is born the rest of the book is pretty good. I don't have that much of an issue with the "imprinting" of Jacob to the baby. I read it as he feels responsible for her and will go to the death protecting her and that she is a part of his life. I did think it was a weird thing way to deal with the love triangle and could think of 10000 other ways to have dealt with it.
