Tween Sleeping Bags?

My daughter is now at an age where sleepovers are becoming more and more common. Plus this year at her summer camp, they have two overnight trips. I'd like to update her sleeping bag. All she has is Barbie from back when she still had naps in school, lol. Any recommendations? I would love if it had it's own carrying case as well. Thanks.

Our son is 9 and last year he announced that he was too old for his Clifford sleeping bag. We chose a red sleeping bag with camouflage liner from LL Bean. It is a high quality bag and we were able to order a junior size. It also rolls up into it's own bag. They have several colors to choose from.

PB Teen has some cute ones on sale for $12.00. They wouldn't be sufficient enough warmth-wise for camping outdoors, but would be perfect for indoor sleepovers.

I had to upgrade my 11 year old dd's this year for camping. I got her a cute pink and grey camo one from Target for $16. Its rated for 40 degrees so it works for her sleepovers and for camping and it does have its own carry case.

My dd was in about 4th grade when we upgraded her sleeping bag. She and friends had lots of sleepovers and she went camping with her scout troop twice a year plus a week long scout summer camp.

I purchased her a regular adult sleeping bag that was rated to far below 0 degrees.

Believe me, it was worth spending extra for a warm bag. I went on one scout trip with her and we were in unheated huts (no source of warmth at all). The temp dropped to about 20 degrees at night. I've never been so cold in my life but when I was in the bag it wasn't so bad.

We purchased a carrying bag seperately.

I did notice the ones on sale from PBTeen but only the pillowcase is available. Since there is a Target near me I'll check there first.

Coleman sleeping bags are decent. There's one at Walmart for $20 that has its own bag and is rated to 40 degrees. I have an older version of the same sleeping bag (no carrying bag, though!) and it's pretty comfy and warm. I've used it camping, as a counselor at summer camp, and for overnights.

I know I sent her a sleeping bag one year to camp and she was the only one in the cabin with one. All the other girls made their beds with sheets and blankets and when they have sleepovers they all come out dragging blankets and pillows. I can't remember the last sleeping bag I saw.

We just have different colored fleece sleeping bags. For camping we have camping bags.

We paid about $10 each for ours

For us, this is just simple. You can open them up to a fleece blanket, they're easy to roll, etc..

The boys upgraded to North Face bags this year at Christmas. They needed them for cub scouts.

I looked around online and got 20* mummy bags with stuff sacks from Campmor for $40 in the youth size. I figure we'll get at least 3 yrs out of the bags, and maybe more. Well worth the extra money for something that will last and is light weight enough to use on a backpack frame. I can probably sell them to another scout for $10 when they're too small for my guys, which is another major consideration here.

If she is going to do any outdoor camping, check Campmor and Sierra Trading Post for last year's colors and models.

Sorry, I didn't notice the price was just for the pillowcase. No wonder it was so cheap! ROTFL My DD got a blue corduroy sleeping bag w/ a carry-bag from Limited Too several years ago as a birthday gift from a friend. It's not too baby-ish so it still works great for her. Maybe Justice has something similar??

I wouldn't get an outdoor bag for sleepovers. The girls get too hot in them -- at least that's what I've noticed. It is true that when they get older some girls show up with a comforter and a pillow instead of a sleeping bag.

Went to Target today and my dd picked out the same one (or similar). It was $19.29. She loves it. She won't be doing any outdoor camping but they do need the sleeping bags for the overnight trips at her day camp. At sleepovers, one or two girls may have blankets but most have actual sleeping bags (maybe it's a regional thing?) so between that and camp, I'm glad I upgraded her.

I'm glad she got one she liked! We got all of our 4 LL Bean sleeping bags a couple of Xmas's ago... Last year was the LL Bean duffles..... I guess you can take the girl out of New England, but not the New England out of the girl
