Tween girls' clothes?

Target Jr dept has a lot of great tops for tween girls. You need a cami under them. My dd11 would not be caught dead in Justice or childrens place.

My 12 year old DD must be easy to please- a lot of the stores other posters DDs wouldn't be caught dead in are her favorites. Childrens Place, Old Navy, Justice, and Target are our staple stores, and DD loves all of them. She doesn't dress "babyish", either. She is rather tomboyish, so she likes to wear skinny jeans, baby Ts with camisoles under them, and cargo pants/shorts.

She turned 12 in September and is in 7th grade. She is almost 5' and weighs around 85lbs- wears size 14 in almost everything, but needs adjustable waist in non-skinny jeans and pants. She has HUGE feet, especially for her height. We just got her a new pair of Converse tennis shoes in a ladies 9 1/2!!

My almost 10 year old DD loves Justice, Old Navy and our new favorite especially for "dress clothes" is Crazy 8. She can still wear Gymboree, which is my fave, but she says it's too babyish. Crazy 8 is owned by Gymboree, less expensive and the clothes are more mature looking without being skimpy.

My 6th grader still wears Justice, but Aeropostale is her favorite. Her favorite outfit is a pair of skinny jeans and an aeropostale tshirt with cami underneath.

I love Aeropostale because they are always having great sales.

If you go to Delia's they carry size 00 jeans. Your dd would not need the adjustable waist

DD11 is almost 5 feet tall but only weights 62 pounds! :scared1: It's hard, but I manage to find tops and pants for her, although it takes herculean effort. HOWEVER.......dresses are impossible. Do you know how narrow/skinny a 62 pounder of that height is? To get a dress to fit her chest would take a 6X or 7/8 and that dress would be a micro-mini. If I get one to fit her in length, it would wrap around her twice. There is no altering a dress to that extent. And I can't sew. I can shop at the "skinniest" store in town and they're still too big.

I'm stumped.

That is the same height & weight as my dd11, it is VERY difficult to find clothes that fit. She is a good eater, she just has a majorly fast metablolism (would that I could be so lucky;)). The only jeans we can find our the slims from Justice, but only the kind with the cuff on the bottom, then we take the seam out of the bottom & unroll them- my dd very seldom wears skirts either, they just don't look right w/ her tiny legs & are usually too short.

I'm glad some kids will look at the style and not the brand name. Yes, Justice has some younger styles, but they have many other styles that are right in line with "older" brands.

I second camis. My DD11 wears one every day to make an otherwise low cut top more presentable.

Aero is short for Aeropostale, they do have a website to order clothes off of if you don't have one in your area~

Good luck, OP, I know how hard it is to dress a tween in appropropriate clothing to fit her size~
We all have our personal challenges! Mine was to find appropriate school shoes for my DD13 who at the time of being 11 had a size 9 shoe! (yeah, she's gonna be tall :))

DD11 just got new shoes...size 10. My poor kids are taking after me. I wear and 11 wide. :( My DD16 did finally stop at 10. My DD9 wears a 5.

Justice, Macys, Nordstroms, Gap. All great girls clothing that is stylish, well made and worth the money.

I think J. Crew or Bannan republic just introduced a new line for kids as well.

DD11 & I went shopping on Sat, she needs some dress clothes for church, & some spring casual clothes. After searching for several hours, we came home with.....1 pair of sandals:rotfl:. It seems as if the clothing in the girls' department is looking a little too young, but she's too small (very thin) to fit in the junior dept (and most of those clothes look a little mature for her. We live in a small town, so we don't have too many options, we've ordered online from Justice & pskids before, just wondering if there's any place else we can try?

I could have wrote this post myself. Except my DD is 12 and we went shopping on Friday. It is crazy out there. We did end up with two pair of sandals and one dress. She was not overly happy with the dress but it would do for a wedding that we were attending the next day. But I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't see the dress on her again.
