Silly question but my son is a huge fan of England football and they are in the Euro semifinals this week when we are in the Magic Kingdom. Are there any restaurants/bars in the park that might have the match on?

You would need to leave the park and go to a resort bar/lounge to see if they are playing it. Safest bets would probably be Steakhouse 71 at CR or Tambu Lounge at Poly (but no guarantees they would be playing it). Otherwise, he would need to stream it on a phone or iPad while in Magic Kingdom.

Not in MK, but I wonder if the United Kingdom Pavillion would have it. I do know that DH got some really nice shirts of England soccer teams there.

Would make sense that if someone would show it then they would show it here. Not sure they have TV screens there though.

I think the Rose & Crown has TVs. And Geyser Point certainly does and is close to the MK. Especially if it is mid-day, GP is not particularly busy then.

Why just the 2014 Cup?
No one really knows other than the obvious that ABC had the TV rights.

Someone high up must have just decided it would be good for ABC and WDW.

It was hoped by some WDW fans that setting the precedent with World Cup 2014 would signal the beginning of routine live TV in the Parks.

That has not been the case.

tbh I would not count on the monorail resort lounges having the Euros on. Possibly since we are in a slower period for the popular American sports, they may put it on if you ask. But for instance I ended up watching the 2021 Champions League final from my room at the Grand Floridian (probably for the best since I am a Man City supporter and we lost lol). I did see a handful of other guests in kits around the resort but none of the lounges had it on and I was kinda skittish about asking. CityWorks over in Disney Springs is going to be the only guaranteed place imo. If you guys were staying at Coronado I would suggest Rix Sports Bar because they have shown EPL matches while I have been there so I am sure they would show a major tournament.

Last year I streamed the FA Cup final on my phone while at MK but I don't know how that would have worked on Disney wifi. I doubt you want to eat that kind of data charge on a roaming plan.

I mean, there is no place in the parks to watch US football (or basketball, baseball or hockey) playoffs or championships, so there’s no way they’d show European football.

I would go one step further! If you can bring in a tablet and find a quiet spot I'm sure you'd suddenly be surrounded by a lot of new friends! :-)
For sure.

We were in France in World Showcase during the 2018 World Cup final and everybody was crowded around tablets.

Much fun.

Yep, we watched a World Cup match on a tablet at Animal Kingdom in November 2022. We had to migrate a couple of times, as the live entertainment at AK was quite loud wherever we found shade. Three people (two guys and a woman) migrated with us.

It was a warm afternoon for November. Overall, it was a nice, memorable break. By the time the match was over, it felt like a lot of people had cleared out of AK.
