My Favourite shows are The Office & Entourage. I watch them because they are entertaining and they make me laugh. I actually laugh out loud watching The Office all the time. The characters are very real on both shows. Which is mostly because of great writing, and great acting.
What makes me interested in Entourage, is the friendship and the relationships. And the struggle that Vince had in th beginning, and how his friends stood by him, and we get to follow his career and such. They do make fun of stuff sometimes, The Office has a lot of funny little pop culture reference and parodies. And Entourage uses lots of famous people, which I think is funny. I don't make fun of either of them, because I think they are great, and there is nothing to make fun of.
I can't really relate to The Office, but I know my parents can.
And the only way I really can relate to Entourage is because I want to move to LA and act.
It doesn't really make me feel like I'm part of that world. I know I'm sitting on my couch watching a TV show. I don't really detach myself from reality when I'm watching a half hour TV show.

gilmore girls.
it's fast paced. they make fun of tons of things. they have real life problems that i can relate to. they act more like friends then mother/daughter. i can watch it with pretty much anyone. the episodes never get old to watch over and over. there are so many things you miss the first five times you watch it.

the office.
they make fun of everyday things. it makes me think, why the heck would i ever want to work in an office. steve carrell is probably the funniest thing to walk this earth. jim/pam relationship is real. kelly is like every girl you'd ever meet.

okay, I don't think a majority of you understand what I was asking. this thread is meant to make you think a little harder than normal. you like something, but a lot of people don't know how to articulate why you like it. And whether you realize it or not alot of the things that you watch on tv you watch so you can criticize it, or because it is criticizing something and you make fun of it as well. for example, my favorite show is gilmore girls because the relationship between Lorili and Rory is like the relationship I have with my mom and I can relate. They also make fun of things and people and it is fun to make fun of it with them and to laugh at them for somethings that they do.

I don't watch House because it makes fun of things, honestly, that's what most of shows like Video On Trial and such are for.

Why do you watch it? Eh, my exboyfriend got me started watching it...then slowly I got addicted to it...and now he hasn't watched it in like a year and there I am, every Friday night...watchin the new episode!

My favorite show is Grey's Anatomy. I love all the drama and stuff! It's very entertaining!

I'm also a fan of Lost, The Office, Heroes, and Gilmore Girls (even though it ended. I watch repeats on ABC Family all the time! =D)

what is your favorite TV show? Family Guy and My Super Sweet Sixteen. Family Guy especially.
Why do you watch it? Family Guy is just hysterical. I've never watched a show before (maybe The Soup, but that's beside the point) that made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe. And as for Sweet Sixteen...it's funny in a different way. I guess it's just fun to yell at the TV! But it's also interesting to see how people who should be doing things with their money totally don't, and use it all on themselves.
what makes you so interested in it? Well, I feel that both make me drop everything I do and run to the TV. It takes a lot to have me do that.
Is it because it makes fun of something? Family Guy, yes. I love when one of them will say, "This is almost as annoying as when I went camping with Bono," or something like that, and then they'll roll that clip.
Is it because you make fun of it? Sweet Sixteen...I wanna say yes, but that sounds odd to me.
Is it because you can relate to it, it's familiar to you? Both shows, absolutely not. That's what's great.
Is it because it makes you feel like you are a part of the world, even though you are just sitting on your couch away from people and the world? Oh, totally. On occasion I forget I'm in my house, I feel like I've been sucked in!

what makes you so interested in it? because its a show thats not about the normal its all about them fighting the supernatural so to me its like an escape from reality
