what is your favorite TV show? Why do you watch it? what makes you so interested in it? Is it because it makes fun of something? Is it because you make fun of it? Is it because you can relate to it, it's familiar to you? Is it because it makes you feel like you are a part of the world, even though you are just sitting on your couch away from people and the world?

This is just a thread to get you thinking a little. I know it is summer vacation and the last thing you want to do it think, but sometimes it's good to think outside of school.

I think that right now, my favorite show is Lost. It's because I get caught up in the drama of all of it. It's interesting to watch how they form their own little society, with friends, and they form little family, and they make their own leaders. When I'm watching it, I feel like I am on that island, and not sitting at home watching about it.

I like Desperate Housewives because it kind of proves how no one's perfect. And the plot keeps me thinking.
I like NCIS because it's the show that got me hooked on forensics, and basically my future career.
I like ANTM because I find it funny. "OHMYGODICANMODEL!" "I'm ohso pretty!" "You took the worst shots this week." "OMGLIFESNOTFAIR."
And I like Grey's Anatomy.. Well. I can't describe it.

but why does it make you laugh? are you laughing at south park because they make fun of everyone and everything? You can't just say something makes you laugh, why does it make you laugh?

I love The Soup and Best Week Ever On VH1 because they make fun of like celeberties and stuff.

I don't watch television nearly as much as I used to. I usually only watch.
Big Brother, Survivor [Yes...I like reality tv] Just because.
The news....obviously.
CSI....I love CSI. It's a great show, with lots of drama...just the kinda stuff I like.
Ah...I forgot.
Miami Ink....those people are great artists. The tattoos look great.
Little People Big World....It's amazing....

I love The Daily Show with Jon Stewart because I love it when people point out the flaws in our government.
I love Anderson Cooper 360 because Anderson is eye-candy and because the show is really un-biased.
I love Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis because I'm a sci-fi nerd and I like to believe, even for a moment, that there might be something out there.
I love Psych because James Roday is hilarious and it's just such a clever show. You can't help but love the characters.
I love WWE Monday Night RAW, ECW, and WWE Friday Night Smackdown because they're soap operas for those of us that like a little more gore than usual.
I love American Idol because Simon is so funny and brutally honest. I also love the crazy people that audition thinking that they can sing and they really can't.
I love The Colbert Report because Stephen Colbert is crazy. And because he really does a lot to improve our country.

Why do you watch it? because it is the master. duhh.
what makes you so interested in it? its so amazing. it keeps me on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next. it keeps me thinking about it all week until the next episode. there are so many questions to be answered and its just so awesome.
Is it because it makes fun of something? no...
Is it because you make fun of it? make fun of kyle? i would never.
Is it because you can relate to it, it's familiar to you? i'm not really in the same boat as any of the characters, but it just is so interesting and i love it.
Is it because it makes you feel like you are a part of the world, even though you are just sitting on your couch away from people and the world? it definately takes me to another world. it lets me get away from everything thats going on. its just, awesome.

Why do you watch it? I'm not sure. House himself is kind of... depressing in his own humorisitic witty way. He's not happy funny, he's twisted.
what makes you so interested in it? This show, is better than any other medical show. It deals with the medical part of it very throughly, and keeps my interested with a few of the characters personal lives.
Is it because it makes fun of something? Umm.. no.

Is it because you can relate to it, it's familiar to you? It's not familiar to me whatsoever.

okay, I don't think a majority of you understand what I was asking. this thread is meant to make you think a little harder than normal. you like something, but a lot of people don't know how to articulate why you like it. And whether you realize it or not alot of the things that you watch on tv you watch so you can criticize it, or because it is criticizing something and you make fun of it as well. for example, my favorite show is gilmore girls because the relationship between Lorili and Rory is like the relationship I have with my mom and I can relate. They also make fun of things and people and it is fun to make fun of it with them and to laugh at them for somethings that they do.

i like gilmore girls because it's fast-paced.
also, they use pop culture references, which i love.
and i relate to their relationship, because it's like ones that i have with many of my friends.
