Has anyone else wondered, or is it only me...
I started noticing this years ago while watching Iron Chef. The judges use their fork, tines down, to hold their food while cutting with a knife. Then they bring their fork (still with the tines down) to their mouth to taste their food. I have always turned my fork over and eaten my food with the tines facing up. I watched Cutthroat Kitchen this weekend and I noticed even Valerie Bertinelli, who I considered more "normal" than a trained chef, also tasted her food tines down. Perhaps I was never taught to hold a fork properly?
