Every fleabag across the country gives you HBO but at a Disney resort you don't even get a full range of basic cable. The best thing on is the Appliance Direct commercials. I can't even watch the food network...it's an outrage for the prices they charge.

I am sorry you didn't find the TV selection at your resort to be to your liking.

I never even noticed what was on the TV except for the Weather Channel (checking the weather for our flight home) and the Disney "tips" channel and/or Radio Disney channel while getting ready in the mornings.

I don't go to WDW to watch TV.....

As far as I'm concerned, they could throw oot the TVs and replace them with a couple more drawers.

Our kids LOVE the TV at WDW.

That's because we have NO CABLE, and NO SATELLITE.

We have (gasp!) Network TV. That's right, ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and Public TV.

We are thrilled to be able to watch Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, CNN, Weather Channel, etc.

Never turn it on except to catch the weather. Sorry you were not happy with the selection.

Yeah, no TLC. I haven't watched "Trading Spaces" in a week!

I was quite pleased with the selection, myself. As long as there are children's channels to keep my son off my case while I catch a few more Zs in the morning, {my son wakes up every morning at 4am!!} I'm happy! :teeth:

BTW, I used to work at HBO and now get it for free and hardly EVER watch it... I guess I didn't notice.

I though this was another complaint from........oh nevermind

At WDW I mainly watch the Disney Parks channel...you know the one that plays the tips for the day and what is going on at each park....also the weather channel just long enough to see what the weather will be the next day.......oh, and also the Disney Cruise info channel ( just can't get enough!)

The only thing I don't like about WDW cable is that there is no Nickelodeon. I understand that they don't want to advertise the competition, however Nick is very popular and having that channel would please the great majority of families at WDW.

That said, I watch the Weather Channel and the WDW resort channels, and that's about it. Once or twice during the week I'll click on Headline News just to make sure I haven't missed anything major.

For those of you who do not watch tv when you are at WDW, what do you do after the parks close? I mean, how many times can you go to PI? Well, next time you are at WDW take a second to turn the TV on and you will see how meager the selection is.

After the parks close, I love to sit in the lobby of WL in front of the fireplace and read or people watch!

I myself enjoy reading a good book at night. All I'm interested watching is the news & the weather. I should watch more of what's going on in the parks tho. I miss alot.

We typically go during the off season so parks close earlier. We go back, swim, wander around the resort, people watch, hang out, read, sleep. We can watch TV anytime...it's fun to truly go on vacation and leave the world behind.

Different strokes for different folks.

Frankly, I LOVE WDW's resort TV. I love getting my zippedy-doo-dah tip for the day. My child loves Toon Disney (something we can't get at home), and on my last trip, I was delighted to discover the Lifetime Movie Network--another station not available at home.

Oh, and watching the commercials for Disney's parks in France and Japan was a major treat!

To each, his own...

Actually we never made it to PI but we have on occassion spent a few evenings shopping in DD. We also like to visit resorts, have a nice late dinner, mini-golf, or just enjoy walking around the resort. If we went when it was warmer then a late night swim would probably be in order. Many nights we just want to go to bed. After a full day of touring we need to get some sleep to prepare for our next day.

I just have a hard time spending my limited time at WDW doing something I can do at home.

But you must admit that most people like to watch a little tv during the course of the day. And it's unconscionable for Disney not to offer even full basic cable when the most rundown, fleabag, rat-infested, pay-by-the-hour motel gives you HBO.
