Tutto Italia - new menu?

Had my hubby make a back-up ressie at Teppan Edo just in case.

I don't normally do that, but since I get down to WDW a few days before the Tutto ressie, I figure I can cancel it if I don't like the menu and still have a yummy place to go instead. :woohoo:

Disney dining is really going downhill. :headache:

As much as I agree that dining isn't what it used to be, especially after the free ddp became so frequent, it's worth clarifing that Tutto Italia is not a Disney restaurant. It's owned by Patina Restaurant Group. Still dining at Disney World is reduced by reducing its menu.

BF and I looked it over and decided not to take a chance. We couldn't really find anything on the menu we liked. We booked Via Napoli that night instead.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't thrilled about the menu to begin with, anyway.

I ate there in December and it was just all right for me. We're eating at Via Napoli in July.

Only a side note because I noticed several - The typos on that menu really need to be fixed.

Even though it's not owned by Disney, it's still located in a Disney theme park and accepts the Disney Dining Plan. In fact, it is the latter criterion (accepting the DDP) that is responsible for most restaurants going downhill over time. Victoria & Alberts and Bistro de Paris are Disney restaurants, but they aren't on the DDP so they've managed to avoid this phenomenon.

I agree.

Unless we get a first hard report by someone on these boards, I would not jump to conclusions about what the menu says. It is important to remember that unofficial sites can and DO have incorrect information. This happened on allears and the 'Ohana menu not that long ago.

I actually happens on a constant basis. Those websites, especially All Ears are consistently wrong. Especially when it comes to peak season dining prices. They change the price, and then don't change it back.

There are menus on there that I have sent in the correct info for, and they are still showing as wrong. It seems to be a big job to continously update that site.

WDWinfo does a bit better of a job in this respect. But, the best menus I find are on Disney's own site. At the bottom left hand corner, is the date that the menu is working under, so you can see how old it is.

The problem with WDW's website is buffets are not listed, and non-Disney run restaurants like World Showcase (eg. Tutto), are usually not listed either.

I use a combination of all of these websites, but I put more faith in Disney's own menus most of the time.

I contacted the Patina Group about the current menus at Tutto Italia and this is what they sent back to me today.

Thank you so much for posting this. I see all of my favorites on this menu. :)

We are going to Tutto for the first time next month. Does anyone have any recommendations for entrees that are really good? I was looking at the Veal roast as a possibility.

Thanks.

The menu is exactly the same as the one we saw in September 2010. For apps we had the Grand Antipasto Misto and it was awesome! For entrees, my DH had the braised short ribs (fab) and I had the salmon (pretty good). Everything tasted very fresh and it all seemed fairly healthy. We had good service. The restaurant was bustling. Overall, I would recommend it.

We ate at Tutto in November 2010 and we really liked it. I had the veal roast and was really disappointed in it. I would not order it again and I was really sad that I chose it over the short ribs. My DH and DS15 had the lobster ravioli. They LOVED it and DS still talks about it all the time. And it doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore....... He will be crushed.....(seriously!) DS19 and DD11 both had the lasagna al forno. DS inhaled it and loved it. DD was really put off by the bechamel sauce. I don't know why. I tasted hers and it was divine. Oh, and the chocolate torta seemed to be the winning dessert.

Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes
