I wanted to try the new Tutta Italia for dinner, but the prices seem outrageous
to me! I know that Disney food is expensive, but not being on the Dining Plan we do look at prices and that place is just crazy expensive!:scared1:

And please understand that I am used to paying a lot for good food, we make adrs at Le Cellier each trip, and have been to Victoria & Albert's, Flying Fish, etc. For me it's a question of value for your dollar, I guess and Tutta Italia seems to be overcharging on items that are just not that expensive to begin with!!

I'm just curious if others feel the same? :confused3
Is this restaurant just a DDP destination?

To me, you are spot on CJ. This restaurant is crazy, expensive. The food is good, but to me not good enough to justify paying $25 for spaghetti and meatballs.

This is a great DDP restaurant, but I'd never pay for it out of pocket it. I wrote a small review of the restaurant last April and what you've already said above were my conclusions.

We went in April, we have DDE no DDP so we saved 20%. Yes the prices are high but we live in a touristy area so we are used to it also we are on vacation so we tend to go with the flow and not let price drive us.

I should say that we only go out to eat once a week and the rest of the week I cook and we both bag our lunch so when we are on vacation we splurge!

The food was fantastic! I would love to go back!

I thought so too when I originally looked at the menu but we tried it anyway and I was pleasantly surprised. We thought the food way much better than Alfredo's and a little more creative and upscale. For example, I ordered the salad as an appetizer and it was enormous and very gourmet. Everyone's tastes are different but I thought this was more with the money than some other places I've been...

That's why I like the dinning plan. My mom complained about the same thing to. I like it there.

I think you're exactly right! We do DDE, and I thought it was WAY too expensive for both the quality and amount of food. Especially the teeny tiny desserts.

Give me Le Cellier or Chefs de France or even Whispering Canyon or well, anywhere else, any day!

I won't eat there even using the DDP ... no way I am shelling out a 20% tip on top of the grossly over-priced food.

I ate lunch at Alfredo's in 2007 for the first time. I had the $17 lasagna. It was good, but pricey, and I haven't had a strong desire to try its replacement.

I ate dinner at Tutto Italia for the first time this past December and thought it was by far the best meal of my trip (and that includes the meals I had a few nights later at Chef de France, Le Cellier, and even Jiko). The food and service were both wonderful. I was on the DDP though. This past May I ate lunch there again and was not so impressed. The waiter ignored me the entire meal, then walked up (just as another waiter was putting my dessert in front of me), to ask me how I was going to pay for the tip. I was not as impressed with my entree in May as I was in Dec either (crab meat with linquine vs fish with clams), but the desserts are fabulous. We are eating there again in Sept (again on the DxDDP). Would we eat there if we weren't on the DDP? Yes, we probably would. It's expensive, but the food is much better than Alfredos ever dared to be. There is no comparison.
