I wonder why the easiest solutions take the longest to come to me. I have been bugging my poor husband to let me plan this year's trip for the past 6 months. As much as he loves Disney, he has been resisting me starting a vacation account for good reason.. Poor guy took a second job on the weekends at the hospice home so we can start saving for a new house. Which is sensible and I support his position 100%. But sometimes sensible isn't fun LMAO. And then it occurred to me that instead of blowing the money I make from tutoring six kids every week in math I could save it for a trip.
DUH! I spent a month analyzing our budget, tweaking how much money we put where, and the most obvious answer could of slapped me. I think I over-think things too often!
Now I have cross fingers and hope Disney decides to do free dining this fall. Or a decent room discount for Values. I would REALLY love to book a Mermaid room at the AofA, but not at the loss of saving money and I know it's too new and noteworthy for Disney to need to discount rooms for. So I guess it is the Pop again for us. This will be our 4th tip in 4 years with children, and the only other resort we have tried was ASM, which was to satisfy my son's love of Toy Story at the time. As much as I want to try a new resort, I am too practical to splurge on even a moderate. With two young kids we don't spend more time than to sleep and come back mid-day to rest for a couple hours in the hotel room.
Now I am even more motivated to fill the last empty tutoring slot I have every week....
And I have about 8 to 9 months ahead of me to obsessively plan. Isn't that second only to the trip itself? LOL. Binders, sewing outfits for the kids, and trying to think of every last detail...so much neurotic fun!
