Trying to decide between Tusker House or Ohana for breakfast. We haven't done either of these character breakfast. Which is better?

We have not eaten at Ohana's before (Stitch scares my youngest!), but we have eaten a couple of times at the Tusker house Donald safari breakfast and LOVED it! The characters were great. And they handed out these instruments to children and did a little parade/dance around the restaurant. It was a lot of fun. And the juice they serve at breakfast there is yummy! We have ressies to eat there again in a couple of weeks. :)

Also, since Tusker house is right next to the safari ride, if you schedule an early ADR for like 8 or 8:10, then you will be done eating just in time to get on the safari ride right at or right after rope drop!

Hope this helps.

I would choose Tusker House for the following reasons:
1. Food choices. Tusker House has a fabulous buffet with tons of yummy choices. There is something for everyone and the juice was awesome. Ohana is a set menu served family style.(DH doesn't do eggs so the menu here doesn't thrill him;))
2. Location. I would much rather invest my time in a character breakfast that is in the park. Tusker House is right next to the safari. I make an early ADR then head right to the safari. :goodvibes Unless you are staying at the Poly, there will be more travel time getting there. Not a big deal if you plan accordingly because of the monorail access..but something to consider.
3. Characters. Ohana has Lilo and Stitch. The Tusker House has Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy in very cute safari outfits. :)

We've been to both. I much prefer Tusker House to Ohana. But it really depends on what you want and which characters you like.

Ohana is better if you are planning on MK that day. You can have an early bfast and catch the monorail over to MK. Characters are Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. Bfast is a sit down meal served at your table of eggs, bacon, sausage links, melons, potatoes, waffles, pineapple bread. I wasn't too crazy about the food, I much prefer a buffet. Mickey wears a hawaiian shirt and the other 3 wear a lei. They have a parade and hand out instruments to the kids.

Tusker House is great when you are planning AK that day. Characters are Daisy, Donald, Mickey and Goofy wearing safari clothes and hats. Tables are dark wood and animal pictures are on the walls. They also have a parade with musical instruments. The buffet was very good and lots of selection of hot/cold foods and cereals/pastries.

You can check out my Oct trip report link below for pictures of the characters. We went to lots of character meals that trip.

Here's my take...

Tusker House has WAY better food! Anything you could ask for was basically there and it was all yummy. Chef was also excellent with DDs food allergy. We are doing this one again.

However, I thought the character interaction at Ohana's was better. Maybe b/c my DD LOVES Lilo and Stitch and they spent a lot of time with her. Food here was mediocre at best. But b/c of DDs love for Lilo and Stitch, we will also be doing this one again this year.

Good Luck!

I have done both with and without kids and Tusker House wins. The interaction with the characters is the best and the food is good.
The juice is the best.
Try to get a reservation before the park opens, it is great.
