Tusker House or Flame Tree BBQ??

Tusker House is very, very good. Not at all your average CS meal. We love the Rotiss chicken and mashed potatoes, and it's nice to sit in the little courtyard out back. That being said, we LOVE Flametree! The dry-rub ribs are meaty and tender, and the sweet sauce is soooo yummy. We like to head down to the area on the water; it's almost always nearly empty and last time we were there the boat with the characters went by.

We loved Tusker House - I refuse to eat outside when it's hot so we bypassed Flame Tree and went straight for the air conditioning. It ended up being one of our fave meals of the week - including table service.

I hear good things about Flame Tree and hope to eat there someday but not when it's hot!

I'm with you and couldn't agree more. With going in Late August, Tusker House is the only place to go. Its just too hot to eat outside.

After all of the positive comments, we tried Flame Tree a couple of weeks ago. The chicken had three large feathers sticking out. The baked beans had turned almost hard and we had to kick the ducks out of the way the entire time that we were eating. Maybe we just were unlucky. Probably so with all of your positive comments about the place.

but be prepared for CROWDS and look for a seat ahead of time!! It was soooo crowded in there when we went in 2006....

FT was good too but TH was GREAT. One of the best CS we had

We like both but I have to vote for Tusker house. Never had a bad meal here but have had a bad meal at Flame Tree.

I also vote Tusker over FTB. I've had multiple instances of just so-so food from Flame Tree. But Tusker is always reliably good. Plus, it has A/C! (not to be sniffed at in Central Florida weather!)

For me, it depends on the weather. If I want to eat inside, then it's Tusker House. If weather is comfortable for outside eating, then it's Tusker.

Tusker House for our family. Hubby loves the rotisserie chicken and mash and I love the salmon and string beans. Good cake to and an exotic atmosphere on the inside. A man in traditional african garb and a head dress strolled through playing an unusual instrument. We took pictures with him.

We love Tusker House. The kids mack out on the rotisserie chicken and I love any place that serves salmon at c/s. Always a consistently good meal, and indoor seating helps, too.

We love them both. It all depends upon our moods, the weather, crowds.

Flame Tree for pulled pork in a pavillion down by the water.

I'm going to vote for Tusker House. For the fried chicken sandwich and a Safari Amber to wash it down. Don't get me wrong, love the pulled pork as well at Flame Tree, but if the weather's nice, find one of the tables ouside at the back of Tusker House

Flame Tree BBQ by a long shot for us. TH is Ok but when crowded, the seating is very difficult to manage, whereas FTBBQ is outside seating and there are many tables in and around that area. Also, the food at TH is sub-par IMO,while the BBQ at FT is very good, and Im from the BBQ capital of the south in NC where it is fixed in many different ways. So Im picky about my BBQ

My family really likes Tusker House, but I have never tried FT we may have to try it this trip.
